WHO: Laurie Collins and Minako Aino
WHERE: The Mall of Heropa
WHEN: Saturday, October 11th
WHAT: Teenaged Tomfoolery

Laurie and Minako had arranged to meet after their respective shifts and, probably still smelling overly of perfume, Laurie was waiting on a mall bench to fulfill that arrangement. A Halloween store had opened for the season, and they were going to take a look before some general browsing around. In all honesty, it was something that Laurie hadn't done before, as common an occurrence as kids hanging out at the mall was supposed to be. It seemed like she was crossing more and more thresholds into normalcy, which... It was nice.

She'd only been waiting a short while when she spotted Minako's approach. The other blond was always friendly-looking and easy to pick from a crowd. Raising her gloved right hand, she waved in greeting and to get the other girl's attention.

"Minako! Hey! How's your day going?"

Minako was excited for Halloween. Dressing up and having fun, it was going to be exciting celebrating with her friends here. Between work and school, however, she hadn't had a chance to pick out a good costume so she was happy when Laurie suggested checking out one of the new stores opening in time for the holiday.

She only stopped to change out of her work clothes and into something more casual before rushing to meet Laurie, waving at her with a bright smile and a bounce in her step.

"Hi! It's been a great day, sold lots of perfume," she said cheerfully as she came up to the other girl."How are you? You smell so good!"

"I'm alright," she started, and she gave Minako's compliment a funny look before laughing. "Thanks. I thought I probably smelled awful by now, you know? Like... Over-saturated."

Apparently, though, she was fine. With a small shrug, she moved to stand, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. She looked around their immediate area, trying to remember which hall the costume shop was down. Two rights, she thought, but a little extra walking would be fine if she was wrong.

She turned to start walking, thinking briefly over ways to start proper conversation. "So... Do you know what kind of costume you want?"

"I guess I'm just used to it too, but I don't think it's that bad, at least not worse than me!" Minako assured her with a laugh as she walked beside Laurie.

"Something scary! That's the right way to celebrate Halloween, right?" she said with determination before turning to the other girl with a bounce of excitement. "What about you? Do you have any ideas? I don't know how Halloween is celebrated here in America but it can't be that different and hopefully comes with lots of candy and spooky fun!"

"I haven't decided on a costume. I never really... I went trick-or-treating, when I was little, but I haven't actually done anything for Halloween in a while." Not that she was really doing anything this year, but she was at least making a little more of an effort. She'd usually gone the route of cute costumes over frightening ones.

Minako's excitement was infectious, and Laurie grinned at the enthusiasm. "There's definitely candy. I've never been big on the really spooky stuff, like haunted houses. That kind of thing. Candy, though. Candy is good."

She was probably bound to go home with a bag of sweets, now. She'd have to be stealthy about it and hide them from Sasha.

"I'll bet there'll be something cool to do, if you want to celebrate, like a party or something."

"We're going to have to find the scariest haunted house, because what would be Halloween without a little spookiness?" Minako said as they reached the store. She was excited to see the selection, she loved getting to dress up.

Minako wished that Usagi was here to share the bounty of candy she was sure to receive but she just resolved to eat enough for the both of them. Artemis would scold her and say she would get a stomachache but he wasn't here.

"If not, we can throw our own Halloween party!" Minako suggested as she looked at a scary mask with blood dripping down it, picking it up and holding it up to her face with a grin. "What do you think?"

Laurie, distracted for a moment in looking around the shop, didn't register the mask at first. She thought Minako's question was still in reference to parties, which was something Laurie hesitated on. Going to parties was one thing, but she'd never thrown her own party before. "Oh, I don't know if I could do something like that."

With a slightly self-conscious shrug, she turned to face Minako again. The sight of the other girl with the gruesome, bloodied face in place of her own made Laurie jump, letting out a little "eep!" of surprise. She tried to recover by laughing at herself.

"Oh, wow. That's so gross! I don't know if it suits you."
