WHO: Kenzi and Lancer
WHERE: Somewhere out of the way in case someone gets destructive.
WHEN: 2/20; Afternoon? Evening?
WHAT: Kenzi's infected with the Type B virus and has a lot of energy to burn off so she's called up Lancer to spar. Things could get messy.
WARNINGS: Language, violence, ???
[Kenzi can't even begin to explain why she has so much energy despite the depression she' been since her return from home. Normally all this activity would just be a front to cover up what she was dealing with but she isn't acting. She honestly feels like she had to be doing everything, that if she stops she'll die. But normal activities aren't cutting it, she needs something more, something that will hopefully help her burn off all the pent up energy that's making her feel like she's going to explode.
So she'd sent a message to Cu to do some sparring. She's seen him fight, she knows how dangerous he is and that's what she needs. Something that could get out of hand and force her to push her powers to their limits. Something that would hopefully leave her feeling so drained she could rest when it's over.
She picked a place out of the way, not the same patch of woods that she had rearranged before, some open field with nothing too close by in case things did get out of hand. She waits, wearing one of her "battle" outfits, which is just normal clothes and ridiculous heeled boots. She has no weapon because her mind is her weapon.
She waits and bounces in place, unable to stay still.]

It was surprising how few people in this city were martially minded. In fact more often than not the so called 'heroes' of this age were more disposed to avoiding conflict than not. Unfortunately Cu Chulainn was a true blooded warrior through and through and he needed conflict like a sculptor needs clay.
Kenzi showed true spirit. She was the first person to actively seek out sparring with him since he had been abducted, outside his camp. So he intended to enjoy it to its fullest.
As he glides down the small trail that leads to the arranged meeting area, in full battle regalia, his eyes light up when he sees her there in the open patch of wild grass. She was probably what, 180 meters away? And didn't seem to notice him yet. A mischievous smile crosses his lips as he reaches into the stuffed duffel bag at his said and withdraws a small pole.
The tip is coated with a firm pad of foam on one end and has a flag tied to the other. With a quick shrug he switches the bag into his off hand and readies the pole, cocking it back over his shoulder and looses it with a mighty toss.
Now the makeshift training javelin was such that if it hit, it would definitely smart. Maybe even knock her off her feet. But the flag on the end would do a lot to slow its speed, and more importantly, announce its approach as it flapped through the air.
Time to see what you're made of.]

At first she just stands there, watching the padded pole as it sails toward her. But when it gets within a few feet of her she stops it in midair and spins around so it faces the direction it came from then sends it sailing back to Cu.]
Nice try but you're gonna have to do better! [She yells at him with a cocky grin.]
no subject
At first he was sure it was going to hit, but when the javelin stops feet from her, Cu's face lights up with a look of surprise and excitement. And after its launched back he dives forward towards it and, reaching, snaps it into his grasp.
Turning with the momentum of the toss, he completes a full rotation, spinning the pole in his hand like a baton and landing with a bright laugh.]
That's quite some trick! [He follows through with a quick swipe of the pole to halt its motion and heads towards her.]
no subject
[She looks completely off guard and open for attack, honestly her mind is in a hundred different directions at the moment that he could easily knock her on her ass at that moment. For the moment focus is something she's lacking.]
Just one of a few. [She grins at him. She could have put up a shield so the javelin bounced off or she could have cut it in half with a conjured blade but sending it back had come to mind first.]
no subject
Oooh? Well I like a girl with a bit of mystery. Perhaps I can coax a few more out of you before the night is over.
[Despite her dropped guard, Cu seems to have little interest in a follow up attack, instead he holds out the bag with a bit of a shrug. Several handles and shafts of what look like wooden training weapons that were too long for it jutting out the end.]
And here I brought all sorts goodies for us to play with, but maybe we won't need them after all?
no subject
Might as well play with these to start. You did bring them after all. [She eventually pulled out a smaller training sword and gives it a few swings, testing it's weight.]
Well, it's no Geraldine but I think it'll do.

[After Kenzi withdraws her chosen weapon, he sets the bag down and zips open a side pouch. From within he pulls out a blade tucked in a black sheath and holds it out to her. The entire thing is made of a flat sheet of matte black steel, including the handle, which was wrapped in a smooth dark leather. Along the sheath was several throwing knives made of the same material.
If Kenzi withdraws the blade there is a line of softly glowing runes incised along the blade:
Here, for you.
no subject
Why yes, she can read the runes. She taught herself when trying to find information in Trick's books.]
This is probably the best gift I've received in a while. I was wondering how I was going to replace my weapons after we ended up here. Thanks, dude.
no subject
[He gestures to the runes.
I though the name for the blade was appropriate based on our previous conversation. 'Legend Killer.'
"Sharp mind, and an even sharper blade" and all that.
no subject
Yeah, pretty fitting. And, y'know, I can read these, taught myself.
[She puts the gift aside since she won't be using it today, as much as she wants to give it a little test she'll have to wait. After that's done she slips into a stance, one that's far better than what she could first do when she first arrived; Piccolo trained her well.]
So we just gonna stand around and talk or are we gonna get to it? I got way too much energy I need to burn off.
no subject
[He's using his 'cool' voice.]
So few of this age have an understanding of a lost culture such as mine. I'll have to think of a way to show my appreciation for your talents.
[He poke the duffel bag with his foot this way and that, considering its contents before he stoops to withdraw a small quarterstaff. As he appraises Kenzi's stance he gives a few showy test twirls.]
Ooo, good form. [The motion of his staff snaps to a halt as Cu fluidly slinks down low in a stance of his own.]
So before we go, did you want to set any guidelines? Rules, limits? Safety words? [Chuckles] Or do we just want to see where this takes us?
no subject
It's not so lost amongst the Fae and, 'sides, Trick wasn't around so someone had to figure it out.
[She watches him closely as he moves. She's better at reading people in combat than she was before but her focus is all over the place.
She hums thoughtfully in response to his question. Rules? Naw, rules are pussies. Limits? She could think of one. Safety words? She laughs at that.] Only limit I can think of is not breaking anything body wise. Otherwise, lets just go for it. I got way too much energy to burn off!
[And with that she rushes at him, sword aimed to jab in from a low position.]
no subject
Hoho! I'm glad to find you so eager.
[Using the momentum of his stance he pivots, lashing out with a wide and uncoordinated high swing. If they were going to fight, Cu was going to put her through the paces. A few warm up maneuvers to see what she had going on.]
no subject
Like I said, energy to burn off.
[She's only there for a moment, however. She doesn't wait for him to finish his follow through before charging back in from the opposite side of his swing. But rather than attacking his front she continues past him, pivoting and dropping so she can go for the back of his knees.]
no subject
[The blow was meant to be dodged, a simple gauge of her skill. But her reposition was quiet impressive.
In this position he had only a couple options: Give up his footing and dodge away, or
Cu twirled his staff to realign it's position and thrust it behind him hard into the ground and planted it between Kenzi's weapon and his leg, intersecting her attack with a smart WHACK!]
no subject
Well, he wasn't a legendary warrior for nothing.]
Nice.
no subject
[Using the planted staff as a level he flipped over, completely head over heals like a dancer and landed bringing his foot down with a heel first kick.]
no subject
At neatly the last minute she throws up a shield where he would have connected with her and scrambles away. The shield gives the moment Kenzi is safely away.
She can't help but laugh at how easily distracted she was.]
no subject
[The sudden blunt counter force and effect was enough to stagger Cu for a moment, an act that he exaggerated in his amusement.]
That was some trick! Did you just create a personal localized boundary field?
no subject
Yup. Although I don't usually call it by such a technical name.
[She has her tricks and she realizes she'll probably have to pull them all out while playing with Cu.]
no subject
Combat. [To accent his point he gives his bo staff a quick but masterful flurry, swinging it out and and under his arms, only to grab it in mid motion like someone manipulates nunchakus.]
And women.
[He tosses her a quick wink before taking his turn, drawing low then rushing out with a downward swipe of his staff.]
no subject
Not paying attention to Cu, until it's too late, Kenzi easily has her feet swept out from under her and ends up on the ground. She blinks and lets out a little groan as she mentally curses herself for being so easily distracted today.]
Damn.
[Well, if she's going down might as well take him with her. She quickly turns her attention to him and imagines a rope around him to pull him down. With the flick of her wrist Cu would feel an invisible force trying to pull him down to the ground with Kenzi.]
no subject
With a less than graceful tumble he falls beside his opponent.]
Wha-? [He looks around confused for a moment before turning to look at Kenzi, a smile replacing his bewilderment.]
Was that you?
no subject
Yup. I told you I got surprises.
I'm not even sorry how sexual this sounds
[A moment of conflicted indecision passes as Cu looks up the length of blade at his beautiful captor.
No matter how dire his position was in a fight, surrender was just not in his nature. But then again...
He liked this turn of events.]
I must offer my sincerest apologies. [A suggestive looks narrows his eyes.] A great disservice was done by underestimating your obvious skill. Allow me to rectify my actions.
[In a literal flash Cu's armor vanishes, the mana used to comprise it exploding outwards in a pulse of light and glittering sparks. Completely harmless but just the distraction he needed.
Curling his feet up and near his backside he used the leverage to thrust his abdomen up and to the side in an attempt to dismount his opponent.]
lmao this is perfect
She's dazed but thinking fast. Rather than let herself be thrown she anchors herself with her TK, visualizing ropes from her waist tied to stakes in the ground. Only this time if Cu looked closely enough he'd see a blue shimmery energy forming solid ropes to keep Kenzi in place. There's enough slack in her "ropes" for Cu to move like he does but neither of them are really going anywhere.]
I guess this has turned into a real rodeo. [She lets out a laugh as she lowers her arms, blinking a couple times to clear the spots before her eyes.]
no subject
[With the armor gone, Cu is left with the only cloths he was wearing before donning his raiment: A black pair of jeans and his dog tags.
But he wasn't free, not like he had expected. Though the pin had been dislodged, Kenzi had not. And a quick scan was all it took to reveal to him the blue ropes.
Even if she wasn't off there was now enough room for him to move. And with the blade away from his throat he took his oppertunity and scoot back enough to free his upper body. Sure their legs were now a tangled mess, but his arms where free and at close range he held the advantage.]
Binding yourself to me, eh? I think we're moving this a bit too fast.
[Giving her a toothy, and slightly predatory grin.]
no subject
Ah, her biggest weakness, attractive men without their shirts. Curse you, Cu.
When he speaks she blinks a couple times before tearing her gaze away, looking to his face. That grin of his makes her stomach do a flop, a nervous laugh escaping her.]
I just didn't want you getting away so easily. [She knows she should probably get away from him now while she can but her legs have gone weak for the moment.
No, that's not it, she's feeling a bit sick from sitting still too long and it shows on her face.]
