HERO ; Accidentally saving someone

[ Kaneki is not a Hero, he always says that. He has no plans on becoming a hero and no plans on going around helping people like a vigilante either. He truly just wants to mind his own business and live a quiet life, which is harder than it looks when you are him. Even here, without any ghouls, he still finds it difficult to lead a peaceful life because everything happens so much. And of course, today would be no different!

kaneki was coming out of a shop, carrying a bag with a new shirt he just got himself, when someone running passes by him and bumps against him. They actually fall with a pained sound - after all, kaneki feels like a brick-wall thanks to his powers - but quickly get up and start running again. Kaneki is left confused, staring at the guy, and then out of no where a woman comes screaming and begging him for help ]

You are an imPort right?! He took just took my purse and hurt my friend!! Please help!!

[ kaneki is left in an awkward position. He can still see the guy running through the crowd and he could go after him - but does he want to? Not really, but he can't say no. he ends up nodding and suddenly Kaneki takes off, running after the robber. he manages to avoid the crowd thanks to his fast reflexes and speed, but eventually follows the guy into a alleyway, stopping when he realizes where he is; he can't see the thief, but Kaneki knows he is there. ] Hey, I just want the bag you took-

[ he barely says this when suddenly the robber comes from behind and hits Kaneki with a crowbar, right on the back of his head. Kaneki doesn't fall down, but anyone passing by would probably get a bit freaked out at the sight; however, Ken suddenly moves to hold on to the weapon with his hand. he doesn't seem to be hurt, but he is frowning ]

That was really dangerous!

BOOKS ; Teaching and nerding

[ He left his classes and decided to run some errands; Kaneki is now studying general literature but that's another name for "mostly western stuff, specially english" and so that means he has to buy the books the course requires. he has heard and read most of them, but they weren't books he expected to read that often. Still, it won't hurt having them and that means now he can take his time to review them whenever he feels like it.

After picking up Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Fitzgerald, Kaneki spends some time picking up other books and quietly reading some passages, until he settles for few mexican authors, such as "The book of lamentations" and "The House on Mango Street" - to be fair, he never read much (if any) mexican literature before so this will be pleasantly new. When he was paying, a child nearby was reading a kid's book. She is pretty young and Kaneki can't help but smile as he sees her trying to figure out the words she is reading - and eventually he approaches, glancing at her book. ]

"Intelligent". [ he speaks softly, so the little girl won't be that startled ] That's the word. In...te..li...gent. [ he repeats softly, and the girl immediately repeats after ] That's right. it looks like you are a natural. [ the child giggles, hugging the book close to her while she thanks Kaneki.

yeah, he clearly is the big brother type. ]

TRAINING ; Easy and difficult

[ This year, Kaneki wants to train more, become stronger - and get some muscle. Look, he isn't obsessed with getting stronger and getting buffed, but he feels so damn weak in this place (and back home). Like he can't face anything and that instead everyone kind of worries about him. Naturally, Kaneki doesn't want that, he'd prefer to be relied on instead because he too wants to protect his loved ones.

1. His training routine is simple enough at first: he runs, he jogs, he flexes, and he does all the basic things you'd read about in books or watch videos online. So you can find him at the park, specially at the end of the day or early morning when there aren't many people around. He actually is carrying books with him, and it seems that whatever he is reading, he is applying into practice: he heads about roundhouse kick, and so after, he tries to follow what the book described.

This is how he learns, in fact, and it has always been a pretty good way for him. Even though most would find it ridiculous and sort of limiting.

2. Another part of his training involves some alone time. Because while crunches and squats are nice, they are not enough for a ghoul. He has super-strength and he should use it too, therefor from time to time Kaneki heads to the woods to train that. Lifting and throwing rocks, breaking trees with just one single punch, actually applying the things he studied into something physical.

If anyone bothered to follow him, this will be one of the few times Kaneki isn't using his eyepatch and his left eye looks a bit different. Though don't try to sneak on him - he will hear you coming unless you are extremely careful.

MOON WALK ; Visiting the moon station

[ It's the first time Kaneki has ever been to the moon; he heard there was a space station there, but he had no idea it was a place one person could actually visit. So once he realizes it is indeed a place someone could just go there and have fun... well, now he is curious. Now he wants to see what's it like; back in his world, this wouldn't be something possible, not even in one hundred years. So it's no surprise how amazed Kaneki is looking at everything, clearly like a child seeing christmas for the first time ever.

It's... a bit of a tourist attraction for sure, but Kaneki is fine with that. he has to reject every single food and drink offered to him - they are all inspired on space and the moon, which is very cute - but he ends up accepting a space-blanket that he will now use as a scarf. kaneki will also buy some moon rock samples, which he will give some people as present, but he does seem really excited about it.

But probably the best thing he found so far was the moon walk: apparently they are allowed to go outside, with a space-suit, and walk on the surface of the moon, and take one of those moon cars and drive around. All of this sounded as if it came out of a sci-fi novel and it's amazing. And for sure Kaneki is there, waiting in line so he can go ahead and try this. For someone so quiet and reserved, he sure looks excited for this.

[ what a peaceful and quiet day, where no strange things will happen.

Except that doesn't exist if you are Kaneki, so there is always something new ready to happen. And it's often weird, but then again, that's not surprising at all since this world always has something to offer and by now they are all very used to it. Sort of. Today isn't so bad: he finds Lucina painting a wall.

He isn't sure if she is fixing it, or making it worse. There is clearly some graffiti covering the whole thing - worn out, ugly, a lot of cuss words there too - which would explain why someone wishes to pain over it, but he has to wonder if that's really helping. Still, Kaneki approaches with a small awkward smile because he is not too sure if Lucina is ready to take some constructive criticism, but he will try ]

Ah... Lucina-san...?

Eh-?!

[she startles, having been concentrating very hard on staying within the lines of a graffiti skull, but she hadn't expected anyone to call her by name, so the brush leaps out of her hands and onto the ground she's hovering high above.

...okay, maybe she was partially hoping to hear her name from a particular voice, but that would've been just as much of a shock as this.

she whirls around, looking down, red-faced.]

Huh? Oh! Kaneki...? Hello! Is...is something the matter?

[she asked, floating six feet up, coloring in rude skulls on a wall.]

[ well, he didn't know she could floay/fly, but since Kaneki has seen Ochako's powers, this doesn't come as a huge surprise.

In any case he waves a little, a bit awkward but his smile grows]

What are you doing? [ well he can see she is fixing the wall. The question is why. The question is also, can that really be called "fixing"?]

Oh, I... [she looks from him to the wall, to him again, to the brush and paints on the ground, to the spatters of paint on her stockings...]

I was...touching up some art. Ah, see? [she drifts back a bit to gesture to it before starting to descend to the ground.]

kaneki comes closer ] usually people use spray-paints to fix the old graffiti. [ though the technique isn't as simple as just paint it with brushes ]

Though, most would just paint it all white to make it go away.

Training #2

Today wasn't a special occasion, his usual chaperone affixed to his face, Shigaraki had just spent a good, long time at work. The other hands had been left at home, safe on the shelves of his room. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened and all he had done was post to the network to see the moral scope of this place. There were a lot of things that didn't fit like back home and it wasn't helping his indecisiveness in what he wanted to do here. Destroy it? Or wait and destroy it.

In all honesty, this time, he wasn't actually stalking someone. At least it hadn't turned out that way to begin with, it was really just a matter of having seen him stealing off into the wooded areas from a route on Shigaraki's way home. Now, normally, people don't go off into the woods for more than just to maybe take a leak and then head back out. Hoping that it wasn't that, he gave it a few minutes or so and when he didn't see Ken come back out, the direction he was going to take shifted drastically.

There wasn't any reason to hide that he was following him and came upon him actually in the midst of one of those deforestation moves that had Shigaraki pausing in his step. He knew he had said super strength, but he didn't know that included a tree being punched into splinters. "Interesting—impressive, even." Sneaking wasn't going to be on the menu, he had no reason to sneak either. Shigaraki wasn't afraid of anyone and this, particular someone was no exception. "Is that how you tenderized the meat for your dinner party?"

Excuse you, Kaneki wouldn't take leaks outside he is a polite nice boy.

Kaneki watches one of the trees fall, shaking his hand to clear it off any left overs of the wood, and that's when he hears a voice behind him. He closes his left eye fast and turns around to face Shigaraki.

He didn't relax at all after seeing him, after all despite everything Kaneki is well aware who this person is even if some would say he is being naive for dealing with him like this.

However, Kaneki doesn't show aggression or annoyance, and despite being tense which he could pretend to be because he just punched a tree to the ground, Kaneki still smiles a little. "I think there would be no meat left if I did that."

Kaneki reaches for his back pocket to grab the eyepatch he always wears and put it back covering his left eye. "I didn't know you were around, Shigaraki-San. I hope I didn't accidentally hurt you." with the whole tree falling and wood flying around thanks to the punch.

A good boy with a bladder. No it's true, he's a good boy.

The tension was expected and by no means a manner of ill will in Shigaraki's eyes. "I think so, too." That there'd be no meat left. No wonder Toga couldn't take him on. She was capable, a great fighter, but mingled in with the chance she couldn't have known about power this strong was why she lost. Impulsiveness.

"Hurt me?" He asked with amusement in his voice. It wasn't hard noticing the motion of putting on the eyepatch after his arrival, for whatever reason, having it off to begin with. If he was blind or injured in one eye, it didn't make sense to take it off. None the less, he let it go for now and stored that information away for another time. "You can't hurt me, accidentally or otherwise." Taking a few steps forward he knelt down and with his half gloved hand touched what remained of that tree. "The number one hero and several other top heroes couldn't hurt me all at once, Kaneki-san. This poor tree, on the other hand. Aren't you worried about global warming?" It was a bit of a joke, he didn't really follow that sort of thing himself.

She did get a good bump on the head as answer to it. Hopefully she'd learn, but realistically speak, she probably will not.

Kaneki snorts back an amused sound when Shigaraki mentions the tree, but he shakes his head "I would be too worried about breaking a house." in the end, it's not like there is a special place for imPorts to train or have their privacy while training. The government brought them here and expected they all would be heroes without really giving them tools to be hero (they gave them enough to be american citizens, at least).

"... the Number One Hero. All Might." katsuki spoke of him once, the Hero that made him want to become a Hero himself. "You won against him?" Katsuki also mentioned he always won, but Katsuki spoke of him in the past tense, too.

Moon Walk

[For Katsuki, visiting the moon had been a lot less fun and a lot more of an inconvenience he had done for research. After assuring the staff he wouldn't literally go off, he kept receiving concerned glances and was frequently stopped and questioned. Finally managing to make it to the moon walk, he ends up fighting the guards to get through to a space suit.]

FUCK OFF, I JUST WANNA SEE HOW MY QUIRK WORKS ON IT!!!

[ oh my God Katsuki why

Kaneki just... Watches because what else can he do? He doesn't expect Katsuki to really want to use his powers while in the suit, but then again the other sure can surprise him a lot when Kaneki least expects.


Eventually, he walks up to his boyfriend, and Kaneki gently pets his head, while he gets between Katsuki and the worried clerk who isn't entirely sure he should be allowing someone like that even get into the space suit]

If you ruin the suit, I have no money to pay for the damages, you know?

[Katsuki calms down (somewhat), the relaxing under Kaneki's hand as he rolls his eyes at the clerk.]

Then I'll pay for it. That solves everything, right?

[ NO that solves nothing?????? ]

You will destroy the suit for no reason. And then you won't have a suit to go outside. [ he huffs ] Do you want me to go on the Moon rover on my own? [ do you, katsuki? ]

SPACE SPACE GONNA GO TO SPACE

[In all honesty, Ochako hadn't at all known about a moon base in this world, or that actually visiting it was an actual and rather easy thing to do. It was just...so impossible back home that she sort of just assumed the same here. Rather stupid, yes, all things considered, but Ochako doesn't exactly hold this world to very high standards, after all. She never once expected that there's something here that caters to her very specific obsession - something that she would truly, fully, and completely delight in.

But Kaneki tells her that going to space - visiting the moon - is a very real thing they can do and...w-well. She calls bullshit the first time, but after a bit of coaxing, she starts to really and truly believe. And the moment she's there, her round and pink cheeks smashed against the large glass of an observation deck, she's quite literally hyperventilating a little bit, voice practically wheezing out from her throat.]

I-I-I CAN...SEE...EARTH. I CAN SEE!! EARTH!!!! AND STARS! STARS IN SPACE.

I'm in space. [Somneone leash this girl, because Ochako is going to be an absolute whirlwind of flailing limbs and an almost manic look in her eye. The cackle that echoes down the halls as she cartwheels through the halls in Zero Gravity could make a Saturday morning cartoon villain jealous, and she waves her arms wildly, kicking her feet in air.]

I'M NOT USING MY QUIIIIIRRRKKKK!!

[ when Kaneki learned about the Moon Station and that people could just visit it without a lot of hassle, he had to mention it to Ochako since she loved space so much. he was certain this would be something she'd love, even if he had no idea what to expect of this trip to the Moon. But once they are up there, well - Kaneki feels like it's Disneyland all over again but tenfold.

He can't help but smile as he watches Ochako so excited about it all. He is excited too, certainly, but oh boy, she knows how to do her thing. So Kaneki will just let her run around for a bit while he moves to a tourist stall to take some pamphlets so he can read up on what the possibilities are over here and what tourists - that's what they are, after all - can do and visit. ]

[Indeed it is like Disney times ten, maybe even times one thousand. Ochako is bouncing on the balls of her feet as she approaches her friend, her face a bit flushed and eyes a little puffy. Yes, she was crying, but the grin on her face alludes to a very delighted bit of weeping, this is so much more than she could have ever dreamed of!! Sort of like a very late birthday gift, and she wonders if that was why Kaneki thought to bring her here. He would have known how happy this would make her...]

Kaneki-kun!! [In her arms in a bag from the gift shop, because of course she paid to get a moon rock sample. It was a small fortune, and she'll probably throw up of of financial anxiety and buyer's guilt about it later, but for now...she's so, so goddamn happy.] Th-Thank you so much for taking me here!! I'm having so much fun!

Dod you know there are tours you can take on a moon rover, a-and you can actually walk on the surface in a real, actual, no joke space suit and-- [She is...floating again...Floating because she put her hands to her cheeks and was rocking from side to side in joy and now she's just...going along...wheee~]

[ Naturally he knew - he didn't expect her to cry of happiness, but let's all be honest here, Kaneki cries of happiness a lot (and... sadness. Kaneki just... cries a lot) - so he wanted to bring a smile to her face. Honestly, if Kaneki had learned earlier, he'd probably have brought her here for her birthday but alas, Luther only recently told Ken about the Moon Base being a place people could visit.

he nods, a wide smile on his face too. Actually, kaneki is very excited about this place as well, nothing like this was possible in his world ] I'm glad- they--

[ wait a moment, don't float away, Ochako! kaneki waves the pamphlet at her, hoping she will come down once again -please don't float away] We can go outside and walk and also drive the moon rover--

We can plant a flag too! [ to mimic the first moon landing yes - though they will remove the flag after photos are taken and the trip ends ]

Training 2

[It may or may not be the woods of the Nonah National Park that Kaneki is training in, but regardless, he's still in a wooded area, and each splintering tree sends birds screeching into the air, and squirrels leaping to other trees and branches in terror. And while the sounds of falling trees is pretty darn loud, the growl that suddenly rips through the air behind Kaneki is far louder than anything the forest holds.

A small distance away is a familiar white wolf, her dark eyes locked on him as a few birds and squirrels perch on her back, or huddle between her front legs - like some sort of forest spirit (which really isn't far from the mark, actually). She doesn't look overly upset, but she's most certainly irritated. It's one thing to fell trees for lumber or anything similar, but this is just wasteful. She snorts out a puff of air and approaches, gently shooing off the critters that flocked to her for safety and solace. She'll deal with this.

Trotting up until she's just outside of arm's length from Kaneki, Ammy sits on her haunches and settles her gaze on Kaneki, her ears flattening against her skull as she takes in the appearance of his other eye. Ah...so she was right a while back. There's something inside him - a darker presence, sleeping...]

Hrrnf. [Another snort, then her eyes look to the splintered remains of the tree trunk, and back to Kaneki. And then she waits, like a mother expecting an explanation for a broken dish or other such object.]

[ when Ken hears Amaterasu approaching, he stops what he is doing and his eye returns to normal in a blink. He looks back at her, a bit confused as to what she is doing there, looking back at him ]

Er- hello? [ He just looks back at her because while Kaneki knows she is smarter than most dogs she is still... well, a dog (a wolf? he still isn't certain on that, to be fair. He'd like to believe she is a dog, otherwise there would be some questions about how the government is just letting a wolf walk around like it's no big deal but then again, they are doing the same to a ghoul, aren't they). ]

How are you...? [it's a bit pointless to ask that, he knows there won't be any answer ] Sorry for all the noise.

[A wolf indeed, though she can also become a dog as well, what with her new power. But the government probably lets her roam about 1. she hasn't done anything negative in any way (quite the opposite, in fact), and 2. she is also an ImPort and registered as a hero as well. Maybe because they also know that she's very much a god as well, but that's neither here nor there.

Ammy sets Kaneki with a flat look, a grunt rumbling in her throat, and she actually rolls her eyes. Alright, he hasn't figured it out yet, she'll give him that one... Ammy hasn't exactly used her powers in front of this boy--Kaneki, wasn't it? Yes. She only used her powers in front of Kaneki when she was stuck in that human body. Well, time to change that, considering those trees need to be fixed up.

She flicks her tail and a drop of think, black ink suddenly splatters on the jagged and splintered bark of the tree they're next to. In the blink of an eye, the ink suddenly glows a soft, pale green color and...a new and large tree suddenly grows up and out from the ink very quickly. Ammy goes around to inspect her work, making sure there's no places where the trunk is still showing signs of splintering, then nods her head as if approving her work.

Another flick of her tail, as Ammy goes back to join Kaneki, and words will paint themselves - this time in red paint - on the bark of the tree Ammy just grew anew.]

It takes longer on its own.

[ to be fair, Ken wouldn't know the difference between a dog and a wolf, there are some dogs that look a lot like wolves.

Kaneki watches the wolf, curiously tilting his head to the side , and when he sees ink (? is that her power?) and approaches with some curiosity to see whatever she is doing up close. he sort of regrets it because the moment the tree suddenly grows, kaneki has to step back again.

he is a bit confused, but certainly amazed, and after reading those words, he looks back at her ] You mean the trees?

Ah-sorry. it's the only place I have to train my super-strength. [ without hurting everyone around him ]

I didn't know you could write- [ she never spoke, but it was clear she understood him. Things would have been a lot easier if she had written things... ]

[There is some mental and nearly physical flailing going on for Wen Ning's part as he witnesses this. He'd just come out here to do some shopping. He hadn't expected to see an acquaintance nearly killed (or not hurt at all??) in the process.

The man had been about to help chase after the thief, only to see that someone else was already on the case. Now he can only watch awkwardly, shopping bag tucked in the crook of one arm. Should he help?]

A-are you alright?

[He has to at least check. Hopefully he won't distract him too much that the thief gets away.]

[ kaneki manages to pull the metal bar away with one single tug, managing to throw the thief onto the ground. That's when he hears someone, turning to look back at Wen Ning ]

Ah- Mister Wen- [ kaneki touched the back of his head, where the metal bar hit. It doesn't really hurt ] I'm alright, he didn't... manage to hit. [ what a terrible excuse

but with all of this, the robber suddenly gets up and tries to run away again ]

[Well that's a lie, but what's more important is that Kaneki isn't hurt. There are plenty of very strong, very durable individuals here. It doesn't surprise him too much to see someone shrugging off what could have seriously injured someone else.

What's also important is the fleeing criminal.]

Uh-- [Wen Ning makes a quick gesture in the man's direction, hoping to direct Kaneki's attention toward the escapee.]

[ well! he isn't going to let him escape now - not until he gives back what he stole. So kaneki quickly rushes after him, using his ghoul abilities to boost his speed, and quickly jumps on the guy to take the purse back. ] DOn't do it again-

[ and with that, he lets the thief go. kaneki is no hero, neither he is a judge on all of this. he doesn't know why that person stole, but he hopes after this he sort of realizes it's better not to do that again - you never know when there is an imPort around.

kaneki sighs, turning back to Wen ] T-thank you.
