Christmas Dinner
WHO: Everyone
WHERE: Maurtia Falls, Bakugou and Kaneki's apartment
WHEN: 8th of December, night
WHAT: Christmas dinner for friends and enemies!
WARNINGS: None so far
[ Kaneki and Bakugou live in an apartment for two in Maurtia Falls; it's not incredibly big, but it's big enough to accommodate people for a dinner and party, which is why Ken decided this would be a good idea. Anyone visiting will be given a small little bag with two mochi inside that Kaneki made himself - it's a Christmas gift, so to speak, nothing fancy but he put his heart into it. The house is decorated with typical Christmas decor and there is even a small Christmas tree by the entrance; nothing too big or amazing, but Kaneki tried to mimic what he saw in the movies.
The kitchen and living room will be available for all the guests, as well the single bathroom the house has. Guests can put their things on Kaneki's bedroom (that is shared with Bakugou, in fact), but Bakugou's bedroom remains closed (it has been turned into a library of sorts, with many shelves. There is an unused bed there, too). Anyone is welcome to try and sneak in when the house hosts aren't looking, though! There is also a balcony with chairs and a table for those who feel like they need some more privacy (or a smoke!).
Since this was never meant to be anything big, there won't be any fancy food and instead the guests will be met with a home-made meal that Kaneki and Bakugou prepared during the day; the food will be good and homey, but if you are (un)lucky, you may end up eating some of the spicy food Bakugou prepared (and it really is very spicy! Thankfully there is yogurt for those who feel like their mouth is on fire). Guests are also welcome to bring their own dishes, as well as drinks and sweets, so a lot can be found! Enjoy the Mac and Cheese, the Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, dumplings and prime rib. For dessert, you can find gingerbread cookies, pie, flans and even Christmas fruit cake. As for drinks, while there are a lot of underage kids around (who will be drinking non-alcoholic drinks), adults can find wine, beer and eggnog - and some spiced hot chocolate with a bit of rum! There is a large table on the living room where guests can find their food and drinks; while it's mostly "eat as you go" sort of thing, chairs are available for anyone who wants to sit down at the table.
There is a also TV, which will work as background noise, but anyone is welcome to sit on the sofas and watch the romantic Christmas comedies playing. The remote is there too, so feel free to change the channel if you want to! And finally, while they don't have a fireplace, there will be a nice heater next to the sofas if anyone wants to warm up. Or maybe you can all just cuddle together, who knows.
Please enjoy your night! ]

OOC Note: Please feel free to have your character join in even if they don't know Kaneki and Bakugou personally. Officially, Kaneki invited friends and friends of friends, but your character can still show up unannounced - you can either have them show up because they do want to sneak into a dinner party with free food, or because they heard of this and thought it was a dinner for everyone. Kaneki and Bakugou won't turn anyone away at the door, so anyone can come! Just please don't destroy the house!

[Katsuki's not normally into big parties, but dammit if he's here he's going to be a good host. None of that airing out all his dirty laundry shit some of his classmates, specifically an icy hot bastard, are so prone to. Kaneki worked tirelessly to make this party a success. He can't even eat any of the food, and yet he did so much just to bring people together. He owes it to him.
But did he have to invite the villains?
He keeps shooting the League dirty looks, spending a lot of his time monitoring them. But Kaneki can fight, and so can he, as well as a lot of the guests here. He tries to make time to be "social" or whatever garbage that is, approaching your character with a plate of different glass cups with various sauces and stuffed peppers.]
If you like the prime rib, try it with my homemade sauces and ghost peppers. TRY IT OR DIE!!!
Mingling & Movies
[When he's not helping Kaneki, he's perched up on the top of the couch, glaring at the villains, eating some turkey and prime rib from before. He moves to snatch the remote from the table.]
This shit sucks. Let's find a real classic.
[Going back to the menu, he searches until he finds it. There!
Die Hard.]
We're watching this. Don't fucking complain.
Closed to Kaneki
[When Katsuki hasn't been helping Kaneki and sending death glares at the villains, he's been closely monitoring his boyfriend for any signs of illness. He doesn't like Kaneki's choice. All he was doing was hurting himself. He couldn't get him to stop though, so the only thing he could do was refuse to participate or offer him a plate and try to make up for him being gone when he got sick.
The night is winding down when he moves to grab his wrist and attempt to practically shove him into the couch. He sits next to him and leans in to whisper in his ear.]
How you feeling?

This dinner ended up, in a way, being months of training to look as if he finds food delicious and to look as if he enjoys every bite. Months of training to be among humans and do a very human thing which is to share food. He never thought about it until he was turned into a ghoul, but once he was without it, Kaneki realized how important something as simple as sharing a meal was.
So he wants that too. And tonight, he was able to do it. At every bite, he smiled and looked as if he was having something incredibly delicious. It may taste disgusting but this means a lot to him, so he is happy.
This isn't without consequence though. Ghouls will get sick with human food, weaker and slower. Continued consumption will lead to ghouls to stop being able to even have their bodies work properly. But it's just for tonight. It will be fine.
Kaneki did go to the toilet several times to vomit it out as the night went, and as the night finally quiets down, he stops eating as well. He makes one last trip to the toilet and once he is out he is dragged by Katsuki to the couch where he sits.]
Ah... Just a bit sore. It will be okay tomorrow. [ he will go eat tomorrow] Thank you.
For letting me do this. [ even if Katsuki complained, he still let Ken do it]

extremely coolappearance, Bakugo was there to glare at them. It was an expected move, but at least whatever Kaneki-san had said that he would keep as a promise on his end, he had. Shigaraki had talked to his own lot and they were under his order not to start problems. If they listened? That was up to them. They had upheld their end. Don't ask Shigaraki how someone underage garnered alcohol, but he had.For the moment it left him at a level playing field where he wanted more or less to just consider there may be just opportunities to learn more about the people that Kaneki knew and therefore likely Bakugo. It could come in handy in the future for leverage in various ways. However, this movie, though. Sure, Bakugo wasn't talking to him, it was some other rube that had to deal with it, but him and his drink sat down none the less. "I like this movie."
Maybe that would change Bakugo's mind. It would be interesting to see if it did. If not, the movie wasn't so bad.
no subject
So it was much easier to deal with now that Shigaraki was sitting there, even if Katsuki couldn't stand him.
"Didn't fucking ask," He replied dismissively, hitting play. He wouldn't be able to watch it, but the actions sounds would help calm him down.

But god, is she trying. Trying for everyone's sakes, but especially Kaneki. He's really too kind for his own good, but then again...so is she. So Ochako gets it - in a perfect world, everyone could come together like this and enjoy. And maybe nothing bad was happening, but she's been here only maybe a half hour and she already feels exhausted. Rubbing her eyes a bit, and tucking some hair behind her ear, the young girl blinks as she's approached by her friend, expression immediately softening into a look of warmth and adoration.
....Aaaand then falling flat.]

She stops, only because she can't make it all the way inside, though Ammy certainly does try, shoving her head around Katsuki and the door first, getting no where, then ducking in between his legs. Or trying, to. Katsuki is...rather small, and needs to learn to fucking pull up his pants, so she does get too far again before yipping and pulling back, shaking her head and then looking up at him like he just insulted her personally.

ii. now in the right place
At one point during the night, she has to pop into Kaneki's bedroom to fetch something from her purse, which is when she looks around and realizes... this is the only bedroom that looks actually lived in. The other bedroom has a bed, sure, but it hardly looks like anyone has been using it for that purpose.
Does that mean... what she think it means...?
Suddenly, another realization hits her, that she hasn't seen Ochako in a while. Knowing the way that Ochako feels about Bakugou, and thinking she had better check on her friend to make sure she is alright, given what she may have just inferred, Momo ducks back out into the living room and begins looking around for Ochako. She finally spots her through the sliding glass door of the balcony, and goes out to join her. She's quiet as she slides the door open, realizing that Ochako is singing a carol to herself. Silently, Momo stands by and listens until the song is finished. ]

After he had done what he needed to accomplish at the dinner, the people he had to talk to and the things he wanted to make sure weren't left undone, Tomura checked his phone again and looked around. It seemed, very much, like she wasn't in trouble and that if she was it would have been more direct. She would have come over, likely? Or he thought she would have. If someone was giving her an issue at the party, he was right there.
Right in front of his Ghoul made salad.Well, if he didn't leave, he wouldn't know. That was what he rationed with his mind as he left Kaneki and Bakugo's place. The address wasn't hard to follow and the store name was amusing by the time he saw it in the distance and recognized the address. He saw her standing in there much quicker than he had to ask himself what she wanted him at a god damn Lolita store for. She could've gotten Bakugo to walk her home, but that didn't seem like her either. She was capable of taking care of herself to her house.
Ugh. Okay, he could do this. The place was more suited to Toga but he wasn't about to call her and tell her to walk Ochako home if that was what she was worried about. It didn't seem likely but nothing else came to mind as he stepped into the store and, ever politely, removed Father from his face. Staying, relatively, quiet aside a small clear of his throat to announce that he was there.

Like this. Which was the opposite of babysitting unless you count Dabi at home (who probably took better care of himself than Shigaraki ever could have). Hell, it's been hours now, and Ammy has eaten like, well...a wolf. And still continue to follow after and eyeball anyone with a plate of tasty snacks. As Ken is doing the clean up, moving food into containers, she is literally at his side, watching him, whining pitifully and leaning her head against his side so, so sadly. Look into her eyes, she is just...so starved. So meek. So thin. She is dying. Look at her. Skin and bones.]
Hhhnnn...!
[Her poke pokes into the crook of his arm, massive head and nose sniffling at the counter he's at. She could easily jump up, easily, but Ammy's not that bad. Usually that gets her kicked out of places, and begging is a 50/50 shot. Come on, give her another snack. She can eat literally everyone's weight in food combined (her stomach is literally endless), so it'll help!!
She's helping!]

2. Food
Hi.
[She pauses, to let him say hi back if he wishes.]
This is a lovely dinner. It reminds me of the dinner parties that a friend of mine back home would throw. He was an expert at them and such a benevolent host. He would serve all kinds of dishes, even ones he couldn't eat himself.
[Abigail says it as if it's true. Lying is easy when it has a bit of truth in it. Hannibal had served a vegetarian meal to Freddie once. He probably could have eaten it himself, but his tastes were very different, more like what she had suspected of the Kenaki she knew.]
No one would expect a host to eat food that wasn't suitable to his dietary needs. Why, they were just grateful that he had been so accommodating to them.
[She gives a little smile, hopefully he sees more point to her story than a simple anecdote.]

The first time is perfectly normal. Very human. The second time piques his curiosity. Maybe Ken has, like, a secret pet or something? A video game he's hiding because he's supposed to be partying? Maybe even a kidnapped princess? (That's wishful thinking. He's only met one princess here and she specifically said that she isn't a princess.)
Curiosity turns to concern, and is waiting a respectable distance from the bathroom door when Ken comes out.
"Hey dude, are you okay? I thought I heard puking."

Later on, once they've gotten settled, he does his best at mingling and small-talk. (He isn't very good at it.) The apartment is small enough that Luther can't really hide on the sidelines like he usually does; he stands out in this crowd. Predictably, the guest list is largely a bunch of kids, which makes him feel glaringly out-of-place — but whenever it gets too much he just glances over at Allison and exchanges a sheepish look, and it helps that there's a surprising number of familiar faces, too (is that Jane and Ochako over by the kitchen?).
So, when he and Kaneki next cross paths alone, Luther is out on the balcony; catching a breather and taking a moment by himself, but looking more relaxed than he would ordinarily. ]

She'd been only too glad to help clean up, and box up some things to take with them when they'd be leaving later. But she'd, also chosen a quieter, less crowded moment for a reason that didn't have to do with Kaneki's offer to anyone who was up for taking it and helping him clear the spread.
There really isn't a preamble. Allison's still drying a dish, when she says, quietly: ]

Light mention of Manga spoilers for Tomura's background story.
Really, Tomura couldn't care less for parties but this was a great opportunity that really couldn't be passed up. For any of them. Each person there from what anyone would sanely call the villain side, had fought begrudgingly or not at his side in tandem at points and trusted by him to execute his plans and ideas in pursuit of similar goals. That meant they knew what they were doing separate or together, he trusted them to use the opportunity or use the opportunity and to let their hair down a little. They hadn't made a move and even Shigaraki was getting tense with what their next move should be.
But this? This he felt like turning around and not bothering. He hated social gatherings and had put himself out into enough of them over the course of his time here to last a lifetime. Opportunity or not, it didn't mean he had to like it and worse still he had a sinking feeling. They were walking right into the mouth of the beast, but they had done that before and come out on top.
A few extra 'behave' glances were given to a certain two people and none of whom were Twice if they saw them or not. The last thing he wanted was them to be broken up and they have to hold a Christmas jailbreak. That sounded like a terrible Christmas special he wanted to be none the part of in conjunction with Hallmark.
For his part, he wasn't being all that sociable to begin with. Tomura knew he should be to keep up appearances, but he was already tiring of the thin veneer that he undertook on his own. They were stronger now. The food was good, at least, and there was enough booze that he was sure people were going to be loose lipped here or there if he found the right person to exploit information from. His own drink in hand, and the only one he really wanted to nurse the night away on, he finally stepped into the foray of social contact.
((Feel free to do whatever your character wishes if the generalized thing isn't for you. Also feel free to bracket, I am just a prose brain today.))

Nope. Not that.
In fact, Shigaraki may catch her in the act, since she's not really all that subtle about her villainous ways, pausing only because their eyes lock as she places one huge paw on the coffee table and tilts her head, mouth open, over a plate of spare ribs. She inches closer, eyes still locked on him, wondering if he'll tell her no. I mean, it probably won't stop her, but this weirdo has a pretty wild, negative aura about him, though that actually means shit here.]

Of course he isn't actually using his Quirk for this bullshit, so enjoy the lukewarm pot of soup he sets directly on the table with the other food.
Dabi escapes the milieu quickly after that. He's not necessarily opposed to the very premise of being around people, but being around heroes from UA is another matter, and this gathering is a great deal more intimate than that Halloween bash. He really would like to know what the hell is going through Shigaraki's mind to put them in such close quarters with heroes from their world.
Grabbing food and drink, he takes them to the balcony and boosts himself onto the slight overhead ledge, for some peace and privacy away from hero wannabes. Running at a higher temperature than most, the winter cold registers as nothing more than a vague awareness, and Dabi stays out there for the rest of the time he lingers, either munching through his plate or, at one point, pulling out a cigarette. He may or may not carelessly tip the ashes over the edge and onto the balcony at some point.
After a fair hour or so, when it becomes clear nothing eventful will happen despite mixed company, Dabi takes his leave. Dropping off the side of the balcony is no problem, his landing on ground level cushioned by a blast of fire from his legs. He can't use the Porter on his own though, so he mostly ends up kicking about the surrounding city. ]

...But. Ochako still won't eat it. Sorry, even a poor girl will not touch that sort of mess in a can, good sir. Leave it for the dogs - there's one hanging around here, somewhere.
Though Ochako has yet to run into it, somehow. HOW MYSTERIOUS.And while Dabi is most certainly not one of the League Ochako seeks out, or even attempts to mingle with for too long - she's not as comfortable around him as she is with Twice and Shigaraki - bumping into him is inevitable in such a small space. Probably because Ochako had the same idea to escape the uncomfortable atmosphere that is getting thicker and thicker by the second...and she can feel the broiling air heating up between the two opposing sides. This was...such a bad idea. Even if the evening was going smoothly, the tension is just--]
