a bar, somewhere; drunken fun
[It's a crowded bar, the kind people go to to get drunk, not to talk. The music is drowning out most of those who try, causing them to yell louder, but the acoustics make sure it doesn't carry. It's the perfect place if you don't want to think, which is exactly what Edwon was after. There are people out celebrating, there's some asshole at the bar picking a fight, and several people more than willing to join in if a fight does break out.
Everyone needs a break sometimes, and this has always been how Edwon gets his. He's tipsy already, new drink in hand, and he has no intention of slowing down until he's so drunk he no longer cares if he's being as much of an idiot as everyone else here.]
Come join me?
[If he's going to be an idiot, he's not going to do it alone. He gestures to the chair next to him, since the odds the random person he invited actually heard what he said in there is slim to none.]
a quiet street, somewhere; villainous attacks
[Training with Darth Jadus is about as much fun as expected: Edwon is set up for failure, called out when he does fail, and then forced to analyze that failure in humiliating detail. And Darth Jadus' overpowering aura isn't helping. It makes him feel like his skin is trying to twist itself inside out, like the world is rotting around him, and it takes all his focus not to let it invade him completely. Even now, he can't quite shake it.
But his lessons are done for the day. He doesn't trust himself right now, so he's avoiding people, picking the quieter streets, using this walk to collect himself again. And there's nothing to give away how on edge he is, no way to tell that he's anything less than okay.
That is, until a villain comes running out of a side street, stopping in front of him with a dramatic pose.]
Give me your money and your valuables! Now!
[Really? The attempt would be laughable if he wasn't already in a bad mood. Unfortunately, the villain is already drawing a pair of guns, pointing them directly at him.]
Or I'll take them off your body!
[Edwon disappears from sight, a split second before the villain fires his weapons. He's been careful to hide his own aura, focusing most of his energy on it, but the darkside is flaring up around him now as that control finally slips. A second passes, and he reappears behind the villain, who yells and drops his guns as sparks fly out from Edwon's hands, shocking him.
It will only stun the villain for a second, but Edwon isn't done.]
a shop; buying clothes
[Edwon needs more clothes. He got himself a few outfits when he arrived, but he can't keep swapping between them, desperately trying to keep up with laundry. The problem is, of course, trying to figure out what to buy when he has no eyes. He's completely colorblind, couldn't even tell the difference between black and white, and he knows from experience he's likely to pick out outfits that are going to clash.
He's browsing, feeling the clothes to decide if he likes to fabrics, skipping past anything that feels like it would wear out too fast. He prefers anything that would survive a few fights. But that's only the first step.]
Sorry - Did you see where the shop assistant went?
[Looks like the shop assistant disappeared on a break. But he really needs some help with this.]

shopping
The familiar voice catches his attention, causing him to look away from some shirts, and he smiles upon seeing Edwon.]
I'm afraid not. Must have gone on break.
no subject
Anders, right?
[And then he sets the clothes he's found down again with a small shrug.]
I won't be able to do any shopping yet, then. Are you here looking for new clothes as well?
no subject
[He pats his jeans, fingers brushing over a spot where he repaired some claw marks.]
no subject
I'd say you could use something new. [He smiles, friendly.] I'd help, but it's not what I'm best at, I'm afraid.
no subject
[He's already looking over a few new pairs. Why some people buy these pre-ripped, he'll never know.]
So, I was wondering, do you have some sort of... alternate method of sight?
[Seeing as Edwon doesn't use a cane like most blind people.]

clothes shopping
So, he must swallow his pride and start dressing in the local fashions. He too is feeling the material of the clothes on display, only wanting the highest quality fabrics. He looks up when he's spoken to. ]
Hm? Oh, I think he went up to the... [ What was it called again? ] ...the register.
no subject
Seems to be busy. I might have to wait, then.
[He sets the clothes he found down again, since there's no point in carrying them around while he waits. Not when he doesn't know how long that might be.]
no subject
He turns back to the odd looking man before him. ]
Do you need some assistance in picking out clothing?
no subject
Unfortunately, yes.
[Might as well try, and ask for a second opinion later.]
I can't see colors, so it's impossible for me to know if clothes clash or not.

Villainous Attacks
Whoa, okay, Edwon's abilities are pretty cool. Probably way more useful in a fight than his currently are. He wants to do something to help but he's terrified of getting injured and he's low on clones. When the villain drops his guns, Twice pulls out his measuring tape and steps out onto the street, with the villain between him and Edwon. ]
Hey, Edwon, need a hand?
no subject
But he can hurt this man so easily. He could—
Except that’s not how Edwon operates. He’s not some mindless grunt, or an arrogant Sith, capable of nothing except violence. He stays in control. He plans ahead. He makes smart —
He hesitates, and the villain takes advantage of that moment, seeming to glitch forward with a sudden speed boost, reaching for his weapons again. And the villain is unlikely to let his guard down again.]
I can handle this guy.
[The problem is the force. Using it is overwhelming, and it's so easy to let it turn him into an idiot, seeking only instant gratification. He refuses to let this change him.
He's going to be smart, which means using every chance to learn what he can.
Though it's still tempting to just go for the kill. Edwon isn't one for strong emotions, but right now they're bubbling under the surface, and he's trying to force it back under control.]
But I won't say no if you're offering.
[Because Edwon has to be better than this.]
no subject
[ Twice leaps forward, lashing out with his measuring tape not at the villain himself, but the weapons, knocking at least one of them back behind Edwon. It's clear from the clang that Twice's weapon is stronger than a normal measuring tape.
He faces the villain, voice sympathetic. ]
Look, I get it. Your quirk - your power, you think you can do anything with it. You can take what you want and nobody can mess with you. It feels great! You'll regret it.
But you picked the wrong person to go after. My buddy here'll fuck you right up. I'd run if I were you.
[ Wait, since when was he Good Cop?]
no subject
But he can ask about that later.
The villain grabs the other gun, and immediately points it at Edwon again, apparently deciding he's the bigger threat. Edwon only grins, and walks closer, slowly, deliberately. He could have a dagger in the man's neck faster than he could pull the trigger, he thinks.]
How should I do it? Should I make it quick?
[He's talking to Twice. He can play along, be the bad cop. The villain's growing fear is satisfying, too.]
Or should I take his hands?
[Darth Jadus had warned him about how other people's emotions can be used to fuel your own strength. He had been warned to shield his own feelings for that reason, but he's never really felt it before, not like this. He's starting to understand.
He disappears, and the villain shoots blindly, the bangs echoing down the empty street. A few seconds later, Edwon reappears behind him.]
You missed.

a bar (whoops it's a novel sorry)
She orders from the dizzying array of choices (she is used to going into a bar and there being a single drink on the menu: beer), and turns around.
She hadn't quite planned this far, but had vague notions of sitting and soaking in the ambiance of liveliness, of busy-ness, of carefree humans who didn't have to worry about getting ripped up by eldritch beasts.
But when the man next to her invites her to join him (she thinks...? she can't hear him, but marks his gesture), she happily accepts.
"Of course."
The noise is slightly less once she sits, blocked by the other patrons.

But he does need breaks sometimes. And if he allowed himself to stop, even during his downtime, that might change. Frustration and loneliness might slip through. It's different, being on this planet, when he'd gotten used to having a few companions he could at the very least rely on, even if he still couldn't convince himself to trust them. It's one more thing to build up under his ever present - but well hidden - anger.
But he has a drink in his hand, so it's not a problem. There's no space in this place to think.
"You looked a bit lost." He leans in a little bit closer, because even sitting next to each other, they'll have to focus just to hear. And he doesn't have the luxury of being able to read lips himself, which his blindfold probably gives away. "Not your usual kind of bar?"
no subject
"I am a bit,"
[She secretly wonders at his words, since how does he know what she looked like? Or maybe it's just a colloquialism...]
"I'm used to less choice in drinks, certainly. Although it's not unpleasant."
[Just surprising. Like the fact that this man, though blindfolded, had dropped into the seat beside her with ease, and read her emotional state, clearly not hindered by his eye-covering. Everything about this new world is strange, but this seems somehow...more out of place? Perhaps not, though. She keeps her suspicions - and curiosity - to herself, for now.]
no subject
[Edwon is used to getting attention for being an alien. Where he's from, at least people will recognize his species, while on this planet the blindfold seems to throw everyone off. But he doesn't mind. He could even use it, if he needed to.
But he doesn't, so he'll let her wonder, at least until she decides to ask.]
No guarantee I'll have heard of whatever it is, of course. But the drinks they serve here are new to me, too.

bar!
He was wearing his Old Grineer body, all beautiful first-batch skin and startlingly vibrant eyes, and an ensemble he'd had custom-fitted for his 205cm tall frame--blue, black and more blue and gold, and a pair of heels to accent the curves just right.
...And to make him taller, because watching the tallest humans figure out they were at chest-height on somebody better than them was hilarious.
He was there to drink, maybe dance, maybe get in a fight--the usual! What you were supposed to do at a party. Making friends usually wasn't on the agenda.
But he was feeling pleasantly buzzed right now, and so he'd indulge the blindfold-wearing somebody-or-other who gestured to him.]
You've got excellent taste, I can tell that already. [He sits down, still looming over the smaller critter.]
no subject
But what actually made Edwon decide to invite this tall man to join him was the fact that something about him didn't feel entirely human.]
Do I?
[He leans his elbow on the bartop, just to make looking up at the stranger a little less awkward, not to mention a little less painful if the conversation lasts more than five minutes. He might not have bothered turning his face up towards him, except that he needs the sound to carry, or at least for his lips to be visible.]
You draw attention, at least.
no subject
[The bar's too low to lean on, but he finds a way to lounge extravagantly anyway.]
I should. D'you see how intimidated some of them get? [He gestures toward the human crowd with a satisfied smirk.] It's precious. [They had no idea how to deal with something actually masculine. Yes, he was vaguely aware they had their own ideas of what that meant, but they were wrong.]
no subject
[It's a rhetorical question in that Edwon doesn't care. Size shouldn't intimidate anyone, in his opinion - at least, he's found ways to work around the fact that most people are bigger than him. There's always weaknesses to exploit.]
I take it you like the attention.

a bar, somewhere
Still, doesn't hurt to have a nightcap on the way home now and then. For old time's sake.
The bartender's only just handed her a drink when she hears someone speak to her. Normally, she'd be inclined to ignore it — never been especially social, even at the best of times, and it isn't like she came in here to make friends — but she recognizes him. Muted surprise has her eyebrows rising slightly towards her hairline. After a half-beat, she decides to oblige him, accepting the invitation to sit.
With a twinge of wryness: ]
I probably owe you a round. For that day at the beach.
no subject
It was nothing. Just some unfortunate circumstances for you.
[He leans in a little closer than he normally would, just to make it easier to hear each other. The bar really is loud.]
I won't say no, but it's not necessary.
no subject
Don't be so gracious about it. [ She quips back mildly, the corner of her mouth wryly curved when she goes on: ] It'll only feed my guilt, and then I'll be stuck here buying you drinks all night.
no subject
Maybe that was my intention. I wouldn't say no to multiple drinks, either.
[He's teasing lightly. He picks up one of the shots as it's placed in front of him, his blindfold moving as if he's raised his eyebrows behind it.]
Or is your intention to get me drunk?
