WHO: Shouta Aizawa + OTA
WHERE: Various locales!
WHEN: July, primarily first week
WHAT: Arrivals and introductions
WARNINGS: Gratuitous napping?
Maurtia Falls #007, closed to Hizashi
[This is...a lot. Not just a lot, A Lot. Aizawa's head is spinning from the moment he leaves Canaveral, escorted to Heropa and then to the 'porter to Maurtia Falls. And as good as he is at adapting to new circumstances and thinking on his feet, anyone would be a bit floored by all the revelations, all the learning, the new circumstances they've been flung into headfirst, a new life printed and in a file waiting for them in a strange new world that still feels even more strangely like home.
(Intake counselor at a sleep clinic. Seems like the folks in charge have a sense of irony, at least.)
Maurtia Falls is on the small side for a city compared to what he's used to, but he can appreciate the way the people walk like they have somewhere to be, and don't seem determined to stop him for a chat about the weather, which is overcast, much like his mood. Likewise the building that's apparently his new residence: smallish, but he doesn't need much. Just hopefully a lock on his door and quiet roommates, as his escort had mentioned that government housing was shared.
The apartment is blissfully empty when he steps inside, though it's clearly lived in; there are signs of that much everywhere. The first door he opens appears to be an empty bedroom, so he drops his sleeping bag in there along with his folder, then heads back out to the den. The best way to absorb this place is to start with the media, he thinks, and turns on the TV, meaning to watch the news and begin to acquaint himself with things. Unfortunately, though, his body seems to have other ideas, which means that within the span of ten minutes, he's passed out, dozing sprawled out on the couch with an arm over his tired eyes.]
Maurtia Falls #007, closed to other residents
[Quiet roommates are out of the question, apparently, but at least he's used to Hizashi's particular brand of noise. If he were to be completely honest (which he will be with himself, if never out loud since Yamada would never let him live it down), it's actually somewhat steadying having a familiar face around. It'll make it easier to adapt. Since...he doesn't really have much choice, at this point.
He's got the government's handout, currency he'll accept for the time being since his own is more or less useless, which is perhaps why he insists on buying dinner, despite any protestations to the contrary from his friend. And as Hizashi's warned him that there might be others turning up after him (as well as others who'd turned up before), he makes sure to buy extra. Extra food, extra drinks, extra snacks, along with some basic necessities. By the time he's done and makes his way back home, his arms are loaded with bags, which is why he just hits the bell with an elbow, and then....shoves a bag of takeout into the arms of whoever answers the door.]
Here, make yourself useful. Take that to the kitchen.
[Who is this scruffy hobo and why is he handing you food tho]
Cape Canaveral, Heropa, Nonah, De Chima, or Jeopardy
[Once he's gotten his bearings and processed what he can--it's gonna take a while, honestly, but it would be crazy to think otherwise, and he's never been that--Aizawa decides that it's time to take the 'porters for a test run on his own. Hizashi's told him about all of his students who are here (again, something that's going to take time to process, especially considering he'd just seen them all back home yesterday, including Hizashi) and despite his external dubiousness, he does believe the man when he says that he and All Might have looked after them as best they can, but...well, some things one has to see for oneself.
He has their addresses, as well as their jobs, thanks to that due diligence, and while he could just call them or send a text, some things need to be seen. And also: sometimes you just want to creep up behind a teenager and scare the bejesus out of them. Which brings us to now: Shouta Aizawa, in yet another unknown city--
--petting a cat??
Yeah. Yeah, he's gotten a little sidetracked. But in his defense, how could he say no to this??]
You should be more vigilant, you know. Not everyone is as nice as I am.
[Is he talking to the cat? Yes. Yes he is. Wanna say something about it??]
((If none of these strike your fancy, please feel free to hit me up via PM or at
amurderofbees and we can work out something different, or just hit me with a wildcard!))

Maurtia Falls #007
But this is all fine! Atsushi is going to get used to it! When he hears the doorbell, Atsushi hops from his bed (ssh, he really likes having a bad,) and scrambles for the door.]
Coming, sorry-- [Aaand gets an armful of-- of food? And drinks, and just-- So much stuff all bagged up. Atsushi takes as many as he can, without a word of protest, and backs out of Aizawa's way.]
R-Right! The kitchen! Got it! [Who is that man? Does he live here? Atsushi has no time to ask. He only takes the bags to the kitchen, too obedient to ask questions. But he's sure thinking them.]
no subject
Following Atsushi into the kitchen, he doesn't seem at all in a hurry to introduce himself, only occasionally holds things at Atsushi like he's supposed to know where things go and didn't also just get here. The closest he gets to an actual conversation at all is:]
First room on the right's mine. And dinner's in ten minutes, if you want to wash up.
[Someone's gotta eat all this food...]
no subject
Dinner?
[Atsushi isn’t sure how to respond to that. He knows what it means to wash up for a meal, sure, but he’s never had a household meal before. Eating with Kyouka maybe counts, but he’s still getting used to that, too. And even if he was used to the idea, he doesn’t want to assume he’s included in any household activities outside of cleaning.]
I’m sorry? Do you want me to leave the living room while you eat? [He suspects Aizawa may have invited him to eat, but Atsushi isn’t about to assume. It wouldn’t be the first time he was wrong about something.]
no subject
[For a moment he pauses, looking at Atsushi as if he's perhaps considering how best to dispose of a body. (Don't worry too much, Atsushi, that's just his normal face.) Is this kid for real....]
Not unless you've got a problem with yakitori or orange beef. Are you a vegetarian? There's some vegetables in here, too.
[He's just going to assume Atsushi's not fucking with him until proven otherwise.]

Heropa
[The voice comes from just a few feet up the street, undoubtedly familiar to Aizawa, as is the face it belongs to. With two shopping bags in hand - one a few pairs of clothes, the other some groceries - she blinks at him and can't help the smile that creeps up the corners of her mouth at the precious display she's seeing.
Aizawa, you're really fucking soft, you know that? At the least Ochako will spare you the embarrassment and walk over to crouch by that impressive loaf of a cat. Two hand petting, what a blessed day for this fuzzy-wuzzy.]
You found my teacher! Thank you, kitty.
no subject
At least he doesn't seem at all ashamed to be rubbing the belly of this majestic beast, as he looks over at Ochako, who can see from this distance that her teacher looks as tired as ever.]
Looking for me already? I've only been here a day, Uraraka.
no subject
Honestly, Ochako's not sure if that's just Aizawa's natural state of being, or if he's actually not getting enough rest. Heaven knows her first day here was not the best, but she can't be sure. Her head tilts to one side as she assesses him a little bit, but her teacher's always been hard to read, so impassive and stoic...ah. Best to just leave it be, he's an adult, he'll be okay, probably.]
Eh, w-well...I was actually getting some things for myself. [She motions to her bags, lifting them a bit before relaxing her arms.] I had no idea you even arrived, but then again I was out for most of the day...
Are you staying here in this city, sensei? [The hopefulness is thinly veiled. Ochako would love to be under the same roof with all her friends and classmates again, with her teachers not too far away... It feels so lonely not to have them all in within arm's reach, when that was the norm for so long.]

the prompt that was made for me
So, when he walks into 007, he's not expecting—but not surprised to see the form of someone dozing on the couch. It isn't until he's placed his bags of groceries on the table that he stops to double-take. Surely he'd just been making shit up out of the quick glance he'd made? Upon a second more lingering glance, Hizashi finds that no, he's not making things up. Hizashi is smart enough to realize that even if Aizawa looks like he is asleep, he's more than awake enough to know someone else is in the room by now.
So he doesn't hesitate to stride over and stand at the couch for a minute, hands on his hips with a grin ripped clean across his face. Instead of just standing there, though he reaches down to pinch the other hero's nose.]
Oi, if you're gonna nap on the couch you've gotta earn your keep first! Help me unpack these!
no subject
Very likely, apparently, and as that hand clamps down on his nose, Aizawa's eyes shoot open, a hand slapping around Hizashi's wrist and batting him away.]
Unbelievable. I get kidnapped to another dimension, and I'm still stuck with you.
[That's Aizawa for 'I'm glad to see you,' probably.]
no subject
It's probably a mix of both, and as he lets his hand get batted away, he lifts his shoe-less foot up to lightly, playfully shove at Aizawa's side with his foot. His own expression is a mix of amusement and a carefully placed half-hearted scowl]
And you're just as rude no matter the alternate dimension!! Get up already dude!!!
[It's hard to hide his excitement, honestly.]

Katsuki's heading back to his apartment after a crap day. He has some groceries slung over his shoulder, and he just wants to get home. This community service shit and other shit he's required to do is bullshit. That's when he hears a soft meow and freezes before he fully turns the corner.
Fuckingshitfuckcrapdamnit
He should have known after Round Face appeared that Aizawa would appear too. He can hear his heart trying to escape his chest and lodge itself in his head. Fucking annoying. There are few people Katsuki fears, but Aizawa...
He respects Aizawa.
His food clatters to the ground- fucking waste- as he climbs up onto a balcony, pressing himself against the bars, trying to pretend he was never there.]
no subject
It only takes a minute for him to leave the bodega and come around the corner, stopping by the bag of spilled groceries, then...looking up.
If Bakugou is still there, he's getting one hell of a look.]
no subject
And for a brief, long moment, he has a look of absolute shock and terror.
Fuck that. He uses his quirk to try and go up, hopefully out of sight before he can be stopped.]

Good afternoon, Gizman-san! How is Hugo today?
[ After all, it's not a trip to the bodega if you don't say hello to the bodega cat. Mr. Gizman greets Momo back and tells her that Hugo is getting some special attention from a new customer. Not having noticed Aizawa crouching on the floor of the aisle, Momo peers over. ]
Ah... Sensei?
no subject
Yaoyorozu.
[He doesn't stop petting Hugo. What? He's not ashamed. Just look at that fluff.]
I didn't think I'd run into you here. I was looking for Bakugou.
no subject
Ah... You were looking for Bakugou in a combini?
[ She looks around, as if maybe expecting Bakugou to be hiding in a different aisle. ]

at least he gets to see Aizawa-sensei and Yamada-sensei everyday! fun! ...it's not really fun.
but Shouto doesn't seem too bothered by this, yet. he knows others are here, from his school, so it will just take a while to adjust. he answers the door after a moment. what a wonderful smell, all this food. his mouth waters before he registers what Aizawa is saying, and he grabs for several bags wordlessly, whisking them away to the kitchen for now]
no subject
Fortunately, neither is Shouto, and he figures at least the kid will probably appreciate having at least one quiet flatmate.
Aizawa follows with the rest of the bags, putting some in the freezer, some in the fridge, passing things wordlessly to Shouto with the unspoken direction of putting things away.]
Are the others home? I brought dinner.
no subject
I've been in my room the whole afternoon reading. I haven't noticed anyone coming or going.
[there is takeout, so he doesn't put those away, just yet. rather he sets everything in a line on the kitchen counter, so that people can pick and choose entrees]

Yeah, this guy gets spoiled every day. His life is so hard here.

Might be more accurate than you think. I can't tell if he's comfortable or just stuck there like a turtle.
[He is kind of a chonker, isn't he??]
no subject
[He runs a couple easy fingertips along the cat's side, feeling it purring there. God what a spoiled baby.
That said, he does like his prehistorically brewed coffee to be blessed.]
New to this place huh?
[To the store, because he doesn't know the bodega cat? Or new to the world? Who can tell. Tadashi's just smiling pleasantly at the cat eating up all the affection they're feeding him.]

Heh. That's a good warning to give your new friend, Eraser.

[The answer is absolutely deadpan, like he's not at all surprised to hear that voice behind him. Which, in fairness, he isn't that surprised, Hizashi had told him All Might was here, but...a little surprised, maybe.]

[Toshinori goes to stand next to his friend, his posture relaxed. He looks- well, he's still a little skinny and sickly-looking, but there's some noticeable improvement, too. His face is fuller, and there's no blood coughing.]
