Profit from the Prophet? (July Catch-all)
WHO: Urianger and YOU!
WHERE: Various (Marutia Falls, Heropa, MF #006)
WHEN: July
WHAT: July Catch-All
WARNINGS: Will update as needed
A: One In A Million Chances Prophecy Shop & Stop, Marutia Falls
The most reliable place to find Urianger is at work, he's gotten something of a following in the months he's been at the shop. Mostly little old ladies who enjoy the cup of tea (iced this time of year) just as much as they enjoy the readings he does for them if not more, but there's a few starry-eyed teenagers who bring their friends to find out about their crushes.
He's quick to gesture to the empty seat at his table to any who come in looking for a reading, a polite smile on his face. "I can read thine fate, if thou wish."
B: Outside A Library, Heropa
Coming to Heropa had been a Mistake. Urianger didn't like being the center of anyone's attention at the best of times, and the increased interest in ImPorts that conecided with some contest was quickly becoming far from the best of anything. He'd just come to the library to return some books and to spend some hours between the stacks but unfortunately he'd forgotten to check the library's hours.
They were closed today.
Which had left him out in the open, which had led to him getting mildly cornered by a group of wayward ImPort fans. He's been polite for a while, thankfully his decision to wear a hood and over-large sunglasses had nobody wanting to take his photograph, but it's very clear that he's reaching the end of his paitence.
"My preferences on the matter art none of thine concern." is finally snapped after a particularily invasive barrage of questions.
Care to rescue the poor man?
C: A park, night time, any city
Some nights, Urianger makes his way to a park somewhere at the edge of a city. His carbuncle glowing and bouncing in the dark as he either lays on some surface or sits atop a jungle gym of some sort and stares up at the stars.
There's the occasional flash of a meteor in the alpha Capricornids above, and it seems to be what he's there for.
It is, however, the carbuncle that bounds up to greet (or is it intercept?) whomever wanders close to where he's settled. A query of a chirp coming from the amber colored creature.
D: Marutia Falls, House #006
When he's not at work or elsewhere, Urianger's often seated out on the porch of house #006 with a book in hand. It's a bit of a toss up as to whether it's something with a castle and a firey bird on the cover ('The Phoenx in the North' is a riveting tale, apparently) or an old copy of a mechanical engineering handbook ('Machinery's Handbook' is equally readable for some reason).
During the daytime there's a sandwich and a pitcher of lemonade beside him, though come evening that changes to some sort of pastry and wine with a candle to chase off the insects. His carbuncle is usually out, curled on his lap and he occasionally speaks to it softly either to reason out plot points or comment on some manner of equation.
He glances up and nods a greeting when someone arrives, pausing in his reading. "Thou art welcome to join me, unless thou hast more pressing matters to attend to."

"Hey, hey, HEY!" She rolled into the crowd on her urn, not caring whose foot she squashed on her way to the beleaguered man. "What's the matter? Don't you people have jobsies?! What's so interesting about a man going to the LIBRARY, of all placies?!"
Not that the library was an uninteresting place, but the key feature about it was quiet and reading, not any kind of flashy nonsense people ought to poke their noses in.
Re: B
Urianger checks his hood, expression hidden behind his sunglasses. "...my appologies, it seems mine friend hath arrived." he says with ease, before turning his head to look at Meeth. It's...oddly reassuring to see someone who's not hyuran around. "Thou hath expert timing as ever."

She gestured for the tall man to follow as she rolled away through the newly-formed gap in the crowd. "I was worried I'd be latie. I've been dealing with something tricky at work. Good thing these little brickies let us set reminders, rightie?"
no subject
"Indeed, these tomestones art quite useful for myriad minor tasks. If there is aught I can assist with with thine work, thou knowest I hath no small amount of knowledge and would quite happily help thee with any matter."

Re: D
[He's been busy reading a ridiculous amount of books and getting a read of the realm he's found himself in.]
Thou need not bring thine own libations, if such is a concern.
no subject
Trust me, you wouldn't have what I'd need.
[Still, he's curious, and he doesn't want to be rude. None of the groceries in the bag are perishable, so he approaches the porch.]
I live across the street in 007.
no subject
I can but try to provide, as host 'tis my duty to attempt whatever it is thou require.
[He guestures to the other chair, lifting a shoulder in a mild shrug.]
I reside here, at least for the time being, thou mayest call me Urianger.

"Reading my fate sounds like a grim venture," she jokes as she drops herself into the seat, fingers folding loosely together on the table.
Re: A
He dutifully shuffles the slim deck of cards, he placed it on the table between them. "The attributes of the cards art different in this capacity than those drawn during combative exercises."
no subject
"Alright, let's see what's in the cards. Shall it be more of this normalcy, mayhap a few interpersonal disasters— or will there be adversity of the sort we're most qualified to face?"
no subject
He's only a little surprised that she wasn't assigned a job involving moving manure from one place to another, considering how often it seems to happen.
Urianger reaches for the deck, flipping the first three cards and laying them out.
Bole, Balance and Tower.
"T'would seem that a truly world threatening disaster doth not threaten us currently I fear."

Still, the gesture and words catch his attention. Ah, to hear language handled with that sort of dramatic flair again. It's almost tempting.
"Yes, but the question is whether in the telling of the future, one becomes therefore bound by it. Which I believe I would not prefer. There is value to independent operation of will."
Re: A
It was harder here, without the feel of proper aether in the world to help figure out the more minor shifts in upcoming events.
"Mostly I hath only been called upon to give veiled dating advice to young ladies." he shrugs.
no subject
"Ah, yet another person taking work that serves little aim. How interesting. Better than selling perfume I suppose."
no subject
He's fine with sitting and reassuring people that things aren't that bad, it lets him remain unnoticed by the more agressive fan sorts.
"If I ever hath need to purchase perfume then I suppose I shalt know at least one purveyor."

So when the Carbuncle stopped to greet him, Rude was left standing there, shocked as he considered the being.
"Carbuncle?" he found himself asking in confusion.
Re: C
Urianger simply turns his head to watch the two of them for the moment.
no subject
"So you are Carbuncle. But your color is wrong."

She is slightly lost in thought when a chirp to her right breaks her reverie. Sypha immediately and automatically stiffens, dropping into a fighting stance, the glow of her were-light flickering. Maybe she's not as relaxed tonight as she'd thought.]
Re: C
Urianger shifts from where he's laying on a picnic table, "Tis a construct of mine magics, nary a threat lest you mean one to me." he says after a moment, keeping his voice even.
no subject
"Oh, yes- I mean no," she corrects herself hastily. "No harm at all meant; I was caught off-guard by your... construct?"
[Smooth. She looks around for the source of the voice, trying to keep the little yellow creature in her periphery. It's ... very cute.]

He enters the shop with a haughty air, peering around at the decor, making silent judgements. If he's surprised by the inhuman appearance of the fortune teller, he makes no mention of it, but he does sit down in the offered seat.
"How specific are your readings? Can I choose the subject of my fortune?"
Re: A
"Thou may, yes. Would thou care for some tea as well, I hath a pot near ready and a spare cup at hand as well." He offered with a polite smile.

He may be a spoiled rich brat, but he does know how to hold a polite conversation and thank people in the service industry.
