Take back the earrings!
WHO: Edward Elric {
braided_icarus} & Open
WHERE: Around Heropa - mostly around the park, around some more suburban areas.
WHEN: Afternoon
WHAT: Ed was previously given Winry's earrings to look after. That doesn't go so well when crows find them and try steal them from him.
WARNINGS: Ed and his language?
[Okay, so Ed honestly had forgotten the earrings. Only reminded when he finds them in the pockets of his pants and pulls them out, holding them for a second before remembering. Winry had taken them off at Briggs to avoid frostbite and given them to him to look after. He's been here this long and forgotten to return them now.
But he doesn't get that long to contemplate the right time to give them back before some crows overhead swoop down at seeing the shiny metal in his hands and take them from him. Which of course he protests. Loudly. And possibly violently as he instinctively goes after them, using alchemy to transmute the ground to raise him higher as the crows fly off.
Feel free to help him, ask wtf he is doing, laugh at him?]
Damned crows! You get back here! Those are Winry's, dammit!

[Hisoka's been perched up there for a little bit now and strangely enough the bird seems to suddenly- jerk towards him in flight, though it's movements are a bit more abnormal as it darts that way. He would have let it fly off if there was no one chasing it, were it just a bird on its way, but this may prove interesting since he now has the object of someone's desire.]
Oohh~ [A gasp loud enough for the blonde below to hear. He holds the bird in his hands and it's- surprisingly quiet. Ed won't be able to see how it shakes in Hisoka's near presence, nor will he see that Hisoka has noticed the earrings and taken them from the bird, hiding them in the palm of his free hand.]
Did I catch a little thief? [Smiles to the bird, then looks down, eyes gluing to his company and getting in focus.] Or do you merely have something against this feathery creature?
no subject
He's about to ask him to hand over the crow to get the earrings when the other boy speaks.
Wait a second. Is he insinuating that Ed is the thief here?!]
Thie--I didn't steal anything! This damned bird stole Winry's earrings from me! And I'm not losing them!
no subject
[Oh... quite the little show as he makes his way up to him. Hisoka keeps his grip on the bird but his focus is only on the boy coming up to him, much younger than him, a little over ten years younger than Hisoka, if he's guessing right. It's starting to make his chest clench a little, something flutter deep in his gut, you adeptly the blonde climbs and leaps. He really wants these earrings doesn't he? Hisoka's grip on the bird tightens enough to make it cry out before he moves the hand holding it around, hiding the bird behind his back.]
I meant the bird stole, considering I've caught him- I have yet to catch you, but the more I watch you the more I'm considering it.

[Ed doesn't even consider the potential consequences of such a public demonstration of his alchemy. After all, by now he's been around showing people at the carnival and chatted a bit on it over the network. No reason to hide it, when everyone has powers here. Even if he still considers alchemy to be a science rather than some kind of superpower. He doesn't really seem to quite grasp what Hisoka says immediately, a frown at his features before he raises an eyebrow, lips pursing.]
Catch me? For what? I don't have time for games, just hand over the damned bird!
no subject
[Smiles, hands still behind his back but suddenly a flurry of birds appear from behind him, flying up and away, all black, all appearing to be the same as the one he had initially caught but really moving very fast to get away, almost just a rush of black and feathers. Hands up!]
no subject
What the hell?! I can't tell which one it is!
[Yeah, Ed's volume just may be increasing as he yells, attempting to jump up to reach at least one to see if they might have one of the earrings. But it doesn't, causing him to curse, gaze following the others as he starts to turn to try and start chasing them.]
no subject
Catching a bird really that difficult? [Well, even more difficult now considering they flew off high, and away, and... are gone, like wow really gone, no where to be seen. Disappearing as if out of thing air after they fly past a building, or from view at all. Hisoka smiles to himself, watching Ed while dipping his head down a little- and putting something on either ear.]

Jacob's not sure what's happening, but between the earth moving and the yelling short kid it looks like it could be trouble. He runs forward to see if he should help. He gets a better look, but it only raises more questions. Why would any teenager be this angry at some birds?]
Hey! What's happening?
no subject
[But Jacob is correct, Ed is using alchemy. Just in a different way to Armstrong and his specialty. Ed calls down to him to try explain - maybe this guy could help capture the crow somehow to retrieve the earrings. And hopefully he won't go tell the police for him messing up the ground like this. Ed keeps after the crows, raising the ground underneath him as he dashes after the birds, not considering what this might look like to anyone below.]
no subject
Grabbed someone's jewelry, huh? All right, maybe I can help. Get over here!
[He flings out his arm, hurling a ball of blue biotic energy toward the crow that looks like it's most likely to have the earrings. If it connects, that unfortunate bird will find itself tumbling weightlessly through the air alongside whatever it's carrying, experiencing an unpleasant few seconds of zero gravity.]
no subject
That's two of them. Still gotta find the rest.
no subject
[Now it's Jacob's turn to blink. He shakes it off quickly though, and starts climbing up the platforms Ed has raised, hauling himself up to join the chase. It's not like he's got anything better to do.]
How many earrings does this person have?
no subject
[Yeah. He just kept bringing her earrings whenever he broke his auto-mail to try keep somewhat in her better graces. Until he realized that she kept piercing her ears to wear all the earrings at once. Not that now is the time to actually try and explain that, but he's fairly sure that's the right number. Four in one ear and two in the other. Two smaller stud earrings and four bigger hoopish ones.
He pauses to help Jacob up before continuing to chase after the crows and keep up. Considering a means to stop them. Erecting a higher wall wouldn't work. They'd just fly right over it.]

...and this is where Ed's crazy antics pay off and he gets the earrings back
Hey! What're you doing?
[Please don't tell her they've been making off with people's shiny things again. The rumbling sound of the ground being manipulated into columns makes her quickly swoop back down onto the ground and leap off the board, and she notices Ed...in hot pursuit of those crows?
Uh-oh.]
What's going on?
when is Ed not involved in some crazy antics more like.
You.....they took Winry's earrings! I'm just trying to get them back for her.
[Because it isn't like this is at least partially his fault for not yet returning them....at all. He points to one of the crows at random, not entirely sure just which one had the earrings now they're back in a group again.]
Sounds legit.
Hey! All of you, down here, on the double!
[Every single crow hurriedly scrambles to fly down, and then they all perch on the first floor window sill. Two crows have an earring each, gripped in their beaks. Kay points to them.]
You mean these?
no subject
Yeah. She gave them to me back up North at Briggs back home. I need to give them back.
no subject
C'mon, you guys, game's over. [The two guilty crows hesitate, shifting from foot to foot. She stares them down until they release the earrings onto her palm, then she turns and gives them to Ed.]
Sorry about that. Old habits die hard.
no subject
Just--just keep an eye on them and make sure they don't do it again. Others might not be able to keep up with them like I did to get their things back.

It's the screams that first catch Roy's attention. He turns his head just in time to see a familiar face transmuting the ground in order to pursue.....a group of crows...?
Leave it to Fullmetal to destroy the city over crows. Still, if he was chasing them, then there must have been some reason. So, Roy manages to catch up to him. With an amused smirk:)
Having trouble, Fullmetal?
no subject
Does this really look like the time, Colonel? One of these bastards took Winry's earrings. I'd rather you didn't help if you intend on doing so by melting them. Unless you have any other ideas.
no subject
(He slips on a glove and watches the crows. It's hard to tell which one in particular has the earrings from down where he is, so he would just have to target all of them. Thankfully, they all seem to be flying in the same direction.)
I'm going to direct them towards you. Just be ready when they get close. (And with that, he snaps three times: the first one is to stop them from going in the same direction they've been flying. Startled by the explosion, they try going in a different direction, which Roy cuts off with the second snap. The third one results in an explosion that creates a bit of a half barrier so they have no choice but to return back the way they came. Although, they're flying a little more frantically and spread out than before. Whoops.)
no subject
[It's not often Ed has to work alongside Mustang like this. He's more used to having Al back him up. But considering the way they usually bicker, this actually goes relatively smoothly. For the most part anyway, until that third explosion causing them to spread out. Ed scrambles to reach for one that has a hoop earring at its beak, only just managing to grab at it but the bird drops the earring before Ed can retrieve it.]
Down there, Colonel. Grab that one!
no subject
He looks back up at the crows, which seem to be flying a little frantically now that they realized there's a chance of getting caught. He doesn't really want to burn them all--that's a little excessive--but he's already beginning to lose his patience and they become more and more of a nuisance each moment that passes. Still, that doesn't mean he can't be smug.)
I'm shocked, Ed. I would have thought someone such as yourself would be able to handle a few tiny animals. What's wrong? Losing your touch?
(One of them is starting to fly too high, so Roy snaps again. The explosion appears just above the crow, causing it to squawk nervously and hastily dive back down.)
no subject
[Whether or not Roy recognizes the earrings as Winry's isn't what matters. At least the bastard Colonel is helping. Ed can be grateful for that. Not that he's about to thank him yet, not when he's being so cocky.]
If you really want I can just leave you to it if you're so confident, shall I?
