"They look like they're not very good at getting you down out of the skies, at least," Anathema says, her voice as loose and casual as if she was remarking oh those tires aren't very good for off-road biking, are they. "My girlfriend flies pretty much everywhere, so I'm used to people disappearing off into the skies, at least."

Then she looks over the other woman, sizes up the smashed paper cup on the ground, the sad little puddle around it.

"Looks like you dropped your coffee in all the excitement. Want to go grab another? I was just on my way in."
