ALL SHALL RETURN TO DARKNESS
WHO: ImPorts, Heartless, A Flying Meat Ship
WHERE: Heropa
WHEN: Feb. 20
WHAT: Showdown time! Defeat this monologuing asshole and restore everyone's hearts!
WARNINGS: Violence, Squeenix character designs
It starts slowly. A mild day in Heropa, the air is clear, the sun is shining...until, on the east side of town and edging away from the city limits, the light begins to dim. Are these clouds moving in? Perhaps, though the storm is strange; there is no wind, and no rain. In fact, the air is strangely still and tense, until — with no further warning — the sky goes black, and with immense tearing sound, a strangely organic battleship appears in the sky.

The enormous fleshy vessel — which has an also fairly enormous shirtless, lance-wielding man welded to the top for some reason — isn't the only threat. Heartless stream across the ground toward the being that is now Ansem, drawn to his seat of power. He is close to his goal, or thinks he is — but that doesn't mean they'll ignore the opportunity to seize new hearts. Caught unaware by the sudden menace, locals try to run, hide or fight, and may need assistance with all three. But beware — emboldened by their leader, Heartless will be more vicious and motivated to consume hearts than before.
ImPorts who have become Heartless themselves may also find themselves compelled to reach his side to attack anyone who attempts to end his dark reign, even if they are in other porter cities — and they will find that the shadows transport them there as quickly as any man-made device. If so, they'll stand against heroes as fiercely as any other Heartless, even if it means attacking those they once called friends.
Ansem has no power over Nobodies, but those without hearts may also feel a strange pull to the battleground. To observe? To see their own Heartless half rage against the light? To see their comrades fighting to save the day and remember what it's like to feel? Who can say.

ImPorts who fly, leap, teleport, or otherwise make their way up the unpleasantly fleshy structure will find that oddly organic turrets are waiting for them, laser-fire ready. They're dangerous, but immobile, unlike the hordes of more colorful Heartless roaming the ship (?). Along with the usual Shadow-type Heartless, they might get bounced off the bellies of some large bodies, have their ankles gnawed off by rabid dogs, have corrosive poo flung at them by bouncywilds and, you know, face the usual threat of death by elemental magic, pummeling, or blood loss via the pointier Heartless.
By working together, heroes can fight through the Heartless toward the being driving all their actions, but due to their proximity to Ansem, they will find themselves becoming ever more Extra the higher they ascend. Dramatic speeches, posing, incredibly aesthetic fighting moves — they're all there, the more flamboyant, the better. Does it actually help them get closer to victory? Who cares?

At the top of the floating meat ship, commanding all the Heartless, is a strangely large, strangely shirtless Ansem. His blows are powerful, threatening to tear even the toughest imPort asunder, and he commands the power of darkness itself — but if imPorts bind their hearts together and join as one to just beat the shit out of him, they'll win the day.
Hours into his transformation, a blast of light will slice through Ansem and his meat ship as the heroes win the day. You've done it, imPorts; light has prevailed and darkness expired. You might want to get out of here quick, though, because as the ship begins to fade, it becomes less substantial, and you're juuuust high up enough that a hard landing won't be any fun.
All remaining Heartless and Nobodies will fade along with Ansem; affected characters will resurrect as whole beings the usual way.
[OOC - And that's a wrap on Ansem! Feel free to hit up this post still if you have any questions!]

Luxord | Kingdom Hearts | OTA
Frankly, Luxord did not WANT to be here. He can't stand 'Ansem' at all. Not in any form. His patience for the 'Seeker of Darkness' has dropped so quickly after actually having to work with the pompous man. But there had been a strange pulling at him, perhaps darkness calling to the Nobodies. Whatever it was, Luxord had headed to the point of the battle. Not that he gets close to the fight. There has never been great reason for Nobody and Heartless to come into conflict, save when Nobodies were trying to create and control Kingdom Hearts for themselves. No, he's safe here.
But, anyone that comes close out of concern for the man in the black cloak standing back and considering the battle, Luxord will just smile.]
I suppose he's better this way. Because he doesn't monologue as much. Truly, I fear he is in love with darkness itself. Truly it's not very interesting. But if you want to think about something that is truly overdone, you should see what he normally wears. He left his coat open to bear a surprising amount of skin for someone that prefers darkness to light.
[Yes, it's true. Luxord is only here to gossip.]
Battle Won
[By the end of the fight Luxord has found and set up a comfortable chair, and sits at it, nursing a tray of danishes. At his side is a pair of Gambler Nobodies. One holds a tray with a pot of tea and a cup. The other has a tray of danishes. Beyond that there is Creeper NObody servings as an ottoman. Or, at least, there is until the light flashes from Ansem. Then the creeper fades away, causing Luxord's booted feet to hit the ground and him to jerk, nearly upsetting his tea. The Gamblers, however, remain. And he looks definitely annoyed.]
Give a man some warming. I nearly wasted a cup of Oolong.

But this is perfect. Something to beat up and punch when she doesn't have anything else to take out her annoyances on. Bare firsts, no weapons, not like she needs them with her invulnerability and super strength.
She's going at it so hard she almost hits some other guy in the face when they come at the same shadow at the same time, but stops herself just in time.
"Hey, I had that one!"
no subject
"Woah!" And, irritated by her nearly hitting him, he responds. "Sorry. Didn't see your name on it. Are there any other shadows here you want to specifically be the one to kill, or are the rest of them fair game?"
He'd wait for a response, but already more are converging, so he swings his crow bar to one on his left, his enhanced strength sending it flying.

"If my fist is coming at it, then I've got it, she says it like it should be obvious, but really she just doesn't want to lose out on having something to punch today. Gaining super strength sure has introduced her to the amazing way stress reliever that it watching things break--only when you want them to.
"I'm not going to pull my punches so people in the way don't get hit," she warns, despite doing just that when she almost punched him.

He slams his crow bar into another heartless, causing it to melt away. At least now that he knows she's there it'll be easier to avoid potentially being hit by her.

"Aren't we supposed to be fighting towards something?" Staying in one place feels like asking for a target on her back.

She has a point, so he starts moving forward, bashing through the creatures as best he can, slowly making a path for himself.
