Moving In
(Open to Jingyi's new roommates. :))
Jingyi is not used to the architecture of this strange new world and he's thrown a little by the townhouse he is apparently living in for the foreseeable future. Still, he is meant to stay here, and so he finds his way inside to the bottom floor and then simply...stops. He underestimated how different this would be.

Taking everything in with wide eyes, he finds himself observed by someone...not in robes and a headband, so he can tell very little about them. Immediately, a smile springs to his face. "Hello! Do you live here as well?"

Chicken Dance
The chicken costume is very large and very warm, though the overcast days in Maurtia mean that this is not an entirely bad thing. Still, he encourages people to go to eat chicken by standing on a corner of two streets and flapping his arms at them. It is very much not dignified, and Jingyi takes a well-deserved break from flapping at people to sit outside the back of ChickenYEET! and take off his head. The breeze is very nice, and in chasing it, he has made it so that he is not very well hidden.

Unfortunately, the breeze also has a mind of its own. His chicken head is caught by a sudden gust and flies its way out of the alley. All that is left is for Jingyi to chase after it. "Hey, come back!"

Jingyi opens his mouth and out comes, "Of course I know about romance!" He's an expert. "You only have to read to know how romance works. It's easy!"

The person bringing their food that both of them have entirely forgotten about arrives at their table at this point and gives the two of them an amused look. The thing with the lights is taken from them and exchanged for two meals.

It is only when the person walks away that Jingyi finishes his argument with a decisive, "You will know when someone falls in love because you can see it when they do."

"So you don't know anything," Jin Ling huffs. Their food arrives and Jin Ling glares at the server for interrupting and for daring to look amused. But then he carries on his conversation as loudly as ever.

"You can't learn about romance from books. And what do you mean you can see it? See it how, exactly? Explain this to me."

"Of course you can learn! How else are you going to learn! You can only fall in love with so many people." Jingyi says this with a very clear air of superiority. He has not fallen in love with anybody. But look. Look. He has had the sappiest, most ridiculous example of his life in front of him for ages. He knows.

"You can see it," he insists. "People look too long at each other. And they smile all the time even when they should not be smiling. And you can really tell. It is very obvious."

In addition to being an expert in love, he is also great at explanations.

Jin Ling peers at Jingyi, considering his reliability as an expert on this subject. Jin Ling has no way to tell. He hasn't had either the examples or the romance books. "You're full of nonsense. Anyway, Hanguang-Jun never smiles, even when he looks at Uncle Wei, so if that's the case then you've contradicted yourself."

"Sometimes the clues change," Jingyi says immediately, trying to recover. Jin Ling is right. Hanguang-Jun never smiles. This is a problem, but not one that he cannot overcome. "You cannot say that Hanguang-Jun is not always at Senior Wei's side," he argues. "That can be almost more important than smiling. Though--" and he says this bit quieter, half speaking to himself. "They are a little not typical in other ways. But that is to be expected because they are not ordinary."

"I don't think you know anything," Jin Ling insists, but he turns his attention to his food. Jingyi has given him a lot to think about, and he wants to stew over it for a while.

"I do," Jingyi protests automatically, but that was also a repeat of Jin Ling's last scold catches Jingyi by surprise. It knocks him out of their argument and makes him recall the food on his plate that he needs to try. It looks very strange and possible disgusting, but he is willing (and very hungry). "But we need to eat, because your dogs are starting to look hungry," he declares. "Eat! Then we will not pay and then you can finish with your dogs."

This is the logical progression of events after so much arguing.
