( nonah | a library )( since her encounter with gabriel lilith had kept her presence a little more subdued, allowing her injuries to heal, making certain she didn't encounter him again and giving herself time to process the new memories and alternate life that she'd apparently led.( jeopardy | coven )
a life that lilith tried to not really think about. even though she understood and accepted the decisions that she'd made, stood by them and likely would make them again it was easier to put it aside. especially with how messy she'd left everything.
it was why she had taken the time to come to the library, to find a distraction and to return to something that she'd originally been doing in her time here -- researching the history of this world, the powers in it and searching for any mentions of witchcraft, something that resulted in a small stack of books on the table beside her, lilith reading through one of them.
it was an interesting endeavour if frustrating at how little she seemed to really find. there was a sigh, lilith brushing her hair back from her face, careful to avoid the remnants of the burns on her face. considering that gabriel had thrown holy water at her she could have been much worse off, though between the lack of water in the fountain and zelda's efforts she'd gotten off lucky, light burns across her face and neck from where the water had splashed, the majority of it hidden underneath the bandage still on her arm, something much more healed now than it had been initially. still, it wouldn't keep her down )( the meeting was again at her home, the cottage becoming quite cozy with the amount of witches that were present. part of it still seemed strange, being so connected, leading something like this but there was a part (very deep down) that enjoyed the connection, the origins of her and-- what something like this could be.
she'd started them with a small spell, something that could be used to protect each of their homes if correctly applied. it was one that lilith already had utilised around the cottage but with the energies of the coven becoming more aligned, with their focus under her direction there was no harm in strengthening such a thing, allowing them to see how their powers could work together.
for those that stayed longer, she would answer questions, give an individual demonstration of something if required or (after some gentle questioning) tell of some of the histories that she knew, the tales and troubles that witches in her world had previously faced. her tale can be directed with an alternate question, a spell aided with or for those truly seeking something else she does keep a set of tarot cards in her cottage )
Harry Dresden - Coven
He had some things on his mind, though, and hoped for advice, and her thoughts. But first, a present.
Out of a pocket of that voluminous coat he wore came an egg looking thing, and out of that, when he popped the top off, came a silver oak sapling, healthy and sprouting.

"I'm beginning to get the sense that you don't leave your magic at home, as it were."
Had his coat been enlarged in some way to carry it or was it a sort of teleportation?

"Half the fun of being a wizard is using it in life."

He has an armful of books when he passes by her table, covering the topics of science and history. Science so he has some ideas for what to cover in his lessons at the De Chima STEM Academy. History because he's a few decades behind on his knowledge of it, though of course just because an event happened in this world doesn't mean it happened in his, and vice versa. But if he can't find books specifically on the history of his world, then he'll make do with what's available.]
Good afternoon.

( lilith speaks before lifting her head from what she's reading, finishing the short paragraph before giving him her attention. there's a slightly warm smile, not friendly but something that would say that his company is welcome. more welcome than most people )
You look as if you could be here a while.
( judging by his reading list. though so would she with hers )

You could be here a while too.

( made simpler by the fact that she didn't really need to sleep )
Though-- ( she takes another look at what he has ) Perhaps I could help you.
( she could also use a distraction )

[So he doesn't have a particular question he's looking for an answer to.]
Unless you have in idea of where to start.

Certainly not the amount of time necessary to make any of what happened previously that much easier to process. There's a saying about time and healing wounds, but no one ever says how much time is really needed, and for what wounds. Certainly a scrapped knee was easy enough to deal with, scaring in a day and possibly lasting for a lot longer if you picked at it, like most people did, but what about something worse? A broken nail? A chipped tooth? Those last ones aren't even able to heal. But maybe they aren't quite wounds, either.
Adam is at the library after class ends. He's been doing a lot more reading, keeping himself busy with whatever activities he can find, and one of the most time consuming ones was reading what he found interesting, as opposed to what the teachers would tell him to. He didn't really bother with those, honestly. There were far more interesting stories in comic books, other story books, and the occasional strange tome with weird symbols on the cover that he'd find around the shops in Jeopardy.
He finds Lilith, of course. And, also of course, he approaches her, backpack slung over an arm. He looks tired. You can always tell when a kid is tired. ]
Hello.

( she was taking a break from her reading, gently thinking on what she'd read. there's a warm smile for him, a gesture for him to join her table )
What have you been seeking today?
( she knew how much he loved stories, having previously told him some of history or recommended things for him to look up. it was curious to see where his mind went )

Story books. Trying to see if there's anything interesting from before people like us ended up here.
How about you?

( it was a long and ongoing project )
But I'll find my answers.

Did you find anything interesting?

( it felt such a subjective concept but she knew what adam found interesting from their previous conversations. and she was more than happy to focus on that and to ignore the state of her )
Perhaps not about the history here-- ( she hadn't gotten far in finding out anything that was different to her world yet. interesting stories she generally had in abundance, though ) But-- there was once a war that lasted approximately forty minutes.

[ They're both ignoring a lot of things. Things that will probably pop up soon enough, as they tend to do. ]
