Patrol; Various cities

Pidge's number of patrols have decreased slightly since the holidays and since the big battle, but she's still making sure to hit every city once a week. Tonight she's walking through the city's streets in her paladin armor. Rover and Green were off somewhere scouting, but occasionally one or the other would circle back to her.

Hopefully it would be a quiet night.

Aegis Base

It had taken a few weeks and an unfortunate number of scares for the janitor, but Pidge's lab was finally set up to her liking and fully functional. The door is wide open for anyone to come in and the welcome sign is now on the door frame.

If one peeked their head inside they'd see Pidge sitting with her feet kicked up on a table playing a game on her portable gaming system.

[Lucina lingers at the entrance of the lab, peering in, not certain she ought to just barge on in uninvited.

at least, not until she does a double-take and sees the welcome sign. so much for that worry! that aside, she raps her knuckles on the frame before seeing herself in.]

Greetings, Pidge! Have all of your things finally been set up to your liking?

[pidgewidgeon]

[ She jumps slightly at Lucina's voice before spotting the other woman and relaxing ]

Hey Lucina! [ She turns a smile towards her. ] Yeah, I got it all set up to my liking. Thanks for letting me take over most of this room. Makes it a lot easier to tinker and build when I have enough room.

[fauxmarth]

I can't really take any credit for it; it was Archie and Ash's call in the end. [and besides, what is Lucina going to do with a bunch of shelving? she's not an avid book-reader, you know.] It's much better to see the space put to some good use for others than sitting idle, yes? And I assume you've got some big plans in store?

[ He hasn't formally met Pidge, but he's heard of their skill and finds the lab pretty quickly. After his conversation with Pikachu, Goro has decided to seek them out. They're tech genius much like Futaba, and it wouldn't hurt to have more people with a variety of skills in the field. ]

I see you've made yourself at home here. [ He jokes lightly, trying not to startle them too much as he enters the lab, eyeing the portable gaming system a bit. ] Pidge, correct?

[pidgewidgeon]

Correct!

[ She tosses her console onto the table and stands to greet the newcomer to her lab. She's seen him around Aegis's base a few times but never spoken to him ]

What can I do for you?

Yeah, I'm planning to start taking apart some of the gear you guys have been using to see how I can improve it as well as taking on any projects brought to me.

I just need to get the garden started first. [ She gestures towards the far corner of the lab that has a row of flower boxes and large pots. ]

[fauxmarth]

A garden-? [Lucina blinks, glancing toward the corner.] You're growing it all indoors, then? Does that work better? [maybe she should try that; she's dreadful with upkeep, though...those poor petunias out front of her house...]

You are a technical genius, correct? I was actually wondering if you'd like to help a fellow detective and me with a project we're working on.

It's still in the planning stages, mostly just gathering intel and working on small scale work compared to what we do with Aegis.

[pidgewidgeon]

[ 'Technical genius'? You're her new favorite. ]

I'm always up for creating new things.

[ Pidge waves Goro over to her work bench and grabs a pad of paper so she can make notes. ]

What did you have in mind?

[pidgewidgeon]

Probably not? But they don't usually stick around long enough for that to be an issue.

[ It hits Pidge then that Lucina probably doesn't know how her powers work ]

One of my powers allows me to use natural foliage to supplement technology so if something I need doesn't exist here and I know how to code it I can basically create anything.

[ She walks to her work bench and grabs her gaming console and walks over to Lucina to show it to her. The console is on, with a game paused on the screen, but unlike most electronics this one isn't made of plastic.

Instead the body appears to be made of leaves that have somehow been strengthened to keep their new shape. ]

I made that out of part of a bush while waiting for Darin one day.

[whatever Pidge said at the start may as well have not been words at all for how little Lucina retained, but she's much better at show-and-tell!

she resists the strong want to take hold of the console herself, folding her hands in front of her and just politely peering at it with wide, curious eyes.]

Ooh! Oh, so...you can make phones and devices out of trees? That's quite inspired! Were you always able to do so, or is it exclusively a gift you learned in this world?

[pidgewidgeon]

My lion is the Guardian of the Forests, so I've apparently always had an ability to manipulate nature. I just didn't learn of it in my world until recently.

I'm able to do a lot more here than I could at home though.

[fauxmarth]

[blink.] So this place...helped you unlock latent powers within you? I don't think I've ever heard of that before. But it makes sense, I think! If people can be endowed with all sorts of abilities...then it would make sense that those imported here...have some latent potential already. Right?
