WHO: Ben Hargreeves + Open
WHERE: City to City, Generally night, or Hargreeves home
WHEN: Jan 2ed, open to other dates too
WHAT: Ben's discovered that his new girlfriend was ported out. He's a bit rough about this new bad news. So he's out at night fighting crime.
WARNINGS: Violence and blood and a very drunk boy.
[Open: Evening/Night in Marutia Falls or Jeopardy]
[He was in a city, at night, fighting a gang of thugs that he has literally spent months picking on. They weren't good people. Not in the least, so Ben didn't feel bad picking them off one by one. Generally he would end them up in the hospital, but tonight after seeing them pick on a young woman at a bar, he stepped in with more aggression.]
[Three guys might not get up again, his batons used to crack them in the head. Another guy unable to breath without gasping, holding his neck. Several motorcycles were thrown with a tentacle, trashing them in a heap together, one sparking on fire. The Horrors never touched the guys though. That was all Ben.]
[Maybe you're in the area. Maybe you're the person they were picking on, or maybe you're watching a masked man in a dark black and blue leather suit kick some gangs ass. Where ever you are, if you're not part of the gang, you're safe. But the masked man isn't going to slow down until they scramble, or he's down. And the amount of hits he's taken, he should be down, but he's not.]
[When he's down, the ASP Batons are dripping blood, the bartender has called the cops, and there is a dumpster fire with 5 motorcycles stacked up in it. Time to limp away, the pain in his side would hurt more tomorrow.]
[Open to those at: Hargreeves Home, evening of the 2nd]
[Ben is a mess. He's thrown his leather mask to the kitchen counter, and one of his batons has dried blood and left there. None of his siblings have seen his mask or outfit before, so that might be curious. There is a bit of blood left on the kitchen sink as he tried to wash up a bit. the kitchen booze cupboard was raided and two bottles disappeared.]
[A black armored bracer would be found on the floor leaving the kitchen to the hall way stairs. Another found on the steps, like he was dropping pieces of him as he went to his room. The last baton was dropped outside his room, scaring Star to skittering out of his room and down the hall.]
[He sat on his bed, checking the network again. Still disconnected. He let out a choked sob, taking another drink from a old bottle of Five's. Five wasn't back. What if Rikki would be the same? He had just asked her out a month ago, and now this. It felt hard to breath.]
[He made a call to Kirk, wanting to go out again [but also making sure he was still there], but too drunk to do it. He called Luther, whining at him too. From there he pressed his face into his bed and let out a small yell. Normally he could hold it together better than this, but this was so.... so stupid. This hurt. He never felt like this before and he didn't like it.]
[Closed: For Klaus in Jeopardy, morning the 3rd]
[He'd tangled with these guys before. A group of thugs that picked on people coming out of casinos and made off with their money. Tonight they met a masked man with two collapsible asp batons. A crack of ones head knocked him out to bleeding, another got hit around the neck as the third guy got chest kicked with his right leg. He didn't need the Horrors to be trouble. And they were looking for trouble.]
[It wasn't until the morning of the 3rd that Ben started moving again. He had gone home to whine, only to leave to wander Jeopardy, very drunk and very upset. His feet lead him to Small Mediums at Large, the doors open. He made his way inside, a bit of a bloody mess, but not minding it. He was still in the black suit, half jacket on, all leather and arm armor and two collapsed batons at his hips. He'd never shown any of his Siblings the costume yet. At least not till last night, whining at Luther and Kirk.]
[Now he was here to find Klaus. A hand leaning on a counter, he sniffed and called out.]
Klaus? Are you here? [Hoping his brother was here this early.]

Maurtia Falls
Hey! I had it!
no subject
[Sorry, Catra, but he's been picking fights around here for a while. Had he known this was your turf.... he'd have still done it, sorry. Still, as he hears her he stops, flicking blood off a baton and tapping it to the ground to collapse it, putting one up on his belt.]
Catra? What are you doing out here? [Ben, you're masked. You shouldn't know her, but, oh well.]
Jeopardy - after the fight
He felt himself sigh, thinking of Rikki, and shook his head as he moved toward the other. His voice was tired as he spoke. ]
Ben. I was looking for you.
[ Which was true. Conner hadn't wanted to intrude, but Ben had been on his mind a lot since he had found out. Conner looked a little rough around the edges himself and sad, he supposed. He felt, more than anything else, tired. ]
no subject
[He reached up and pulled the mask and hood off, frowning at the other.]
Well, you found me.
[He was in a sour mood, and perhaps a little drunk.]
no subject
I just wanted to check in, after she was taken away.
[ They were not friends, and Conner was not expecting a friendly greeting, but for Rikki? He would try. He sucked at these conversations, though. ]
If you would like to talk sometime, I've been in... similar situations.
no subject
[They were not friends, only because one, Ben was a little Jealous of the other, and two, they had never spent time around each other.]
[Still they had something good in common. For Rikki, he would try.]
[He sighed though, standing there and looking towards the other. It's not his fault. Ben deflates a bit.]
Thank you. Honestly. I'm pretty sure I'm shit company right now, and I think I broke a rib. [He rested a hand at his leather clad side and sighed.]
no subject
If you need anything, just let me know. I know I can't.... make any of this right.
[ He sighed and scrubbed his hair with his hands. ]
But I had to come, anyway.
Do you need, or want, a lift to a doc? [ he can do that, at least, and if not, well, that is okay, too. When he lost Roxi... yeah. He had not been fit to be around for weeks. ]
no subject
[He let out a huff, a hand resting at his side, shaking his head a bit. Just fractures, he thinks. Nothing he hasn't had before.]
No. The pain feels good. Reminds me I'm not dead anymore.
no subject
[ He nods then, remembering, and sighs. ]
Alright. I will stop bugging you. The door is always open, or it will be soon, as soon as I move into my new place.
Be careful out there, okay? And if you ever do need my help, well, call my name, and I will come.
[ With a tip of an imaginary hat, he started rising into the air, and planned to head off for home. To finish packing, and to take one last look, before leaving the house that Rikki had been in forever. ]
no subject
[He nods, unsure what to say at first. Salutes the guy as he goes. Then there is a small growl to himself.]
Damn it. Connor! [He called up to him.] You are so god damn nice its infuriating right now, but.... thanks. I mean it. Thanks.
no subject
Anytime, Ben. Anytime.
[ And he winked as he shot away. He was hoping Ben would be okay. And he would keep an ear, and an eye, open. ]
Post Fight
Which of course meant he returned just in time to see just how the other man had dealt with putting the fools down for their impertinence. There was even the bartender heading back inside, no doubt to call about something.]
Interesting that you come out so well from the no doubt difficult encounter with so little harm for what you faced.
[And yes, it is clear the young man is injured. But he is walking away despite the numbers against him. Laudable.]
no subject
[Ghosting in and out in the fight, making guys who tried to capture him lose him instantly, only to turn around and whomp on them in return. the Horrors were sent out only to throw the bikes and not to attack the men, though it would have been easy to do had he wanted to do this the easy way. If he sent them out he would be covered in a shower of blood and no man would be left alive.]
[That wasn't what he wanted.]
[When he was done he stood there, blood on his batons, feeling the pain, and it felt good. He'd rethink that tomorrow, hes sure, but for now, his frustrations were vented. When someone spoke up he blinked, looking to the man, then nodded.]
Somewhat difficult. It could have been worse. [he paused, running a hand over his mask, his leather attire holding up well at least.]
Thank you, for seeing to the girl.
no subject
I thought to render assistance to the victim rather than something that would get myself placed in jail.
no subject
[None the less, he seems... better, after the fight.]
That's good of you. As for Jail, I'll take my chances. These guys are notorious for being a problem.
no subject
[It definitely makes him curious, and he almost considers reaching for the mask. But he knows better than to close the distance.]
no subject
[That wasn't Ben's normal motto though. He wasn't a violent kind of person. 18 years alive, 30 being awake. He tended to do things the right way, but this? yeah this might have been violence for the sake thereof.]
Why? Going to report me?
no subject
While I do not revel in violence as a means by which to work out aggression, in fact I don't much care for violence at all, I can understand the usefulness of it in some situations. And if this was your means of dealing with the problem, then you should by all means make use of it.
As for authority figures, I have had my fill of them for the time being.
no subject
[This guy was strange, wasn't he? Still, he wasn't so bad so far.]
Truth be told, I don't care much for Violence either. Today was just... [How to explain. Ug, He put up his batons in their holsters and frowned darkly.] ...today was different.
no subject
There will always be days which are different. It is best to try and minimize those. You are one of those imPorts, yes? Someone who fights for what is right?
[Like he has any intention of implying that he is as well.]
no subject
Yeah, I'm one of those imPorts.
[He agreed, but then nodded his head.] You want to talk you might want to walk with me. I don't really want to be here when the cops arrive.
no subject
Yes, that would be a very good plan I fear. Do you do this often? Parading around in the streets in silly clothing to help those you don't know?
no subject
It's a costume, I know. Seems dumb, but it keeps me relatively safe too. Armored. And no, not too often anymore. Or, well, once in a while. Just not too often it gets as bad as a flaming heap of motorcycles in a trash can bad.
no subject
Well, I must admit, the vehicles seemed far more decorative and interesting in the place you relocated them to.
no subject
If they're going to go about beating people with crowbars while riding bikes, they can try and fish them out of the trash. These guys have themselves too much freedom and not enough discipline. And the last few times I've seen them arrested, they're out and hurting someone else yet again.
no subject
[He would rather have enemies with too much freedom and too little discipline than the reverse.]
no subject
I suppose that makes sense. I just... I don't know what to do with them. Beating the shit out of them seems better than just killing them.
no subject
[But maybe he's just curious as to what motivates a man like this to fight people. Luxord doesn't get it. The putting yourself in danger isn't in his nature.]
no subject
I don't do this to protect myself. Just others.
no subject
[A simple statement. A whole biker gang, unified? Perhaps even Ben would not stand up against that very well.]
Get them organized, and yours might end too.
no subject
And Mine has already ended once before. I'm not too worried about that here. [What, wit h the whole Horrors thing and the Ghosting thing, he really Wasn't too worried about thugs out here.]
no subject
Yes, I understand that we come back is we die.
no subject
[he shrugged a bit at that, like it was natural to have died at home and still know it.]
no subject
Perhaps that inspires more people to the foolish displays of violence as you found yourself engaged in?
no subject
[Tonight though, that was just to feel something. He used none of his powers for tonight.]
no subject
Forgive me for asking, but does not thinking less cautiously can also further the instances of circumstantial damage to the area around you?
