It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.


Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.

Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

[ he raises his eyebrow. ]

You know, you could have just called me.

I could use a vacation and be treated at a fancy restaurant.

[Does he want to be spoiled and exclusively paid attention to? Yes, yes he does.]

Besides, you're a busy man and it's not easy getting an appointment or your attention any other way. Alone. Just the two of us.

Uhuh.

[ bruce's eyelids drop. he's starting to like quentin less and less... ]

And we're going to discuss technology going... ice skating.

[mysterioisthetruth]

Well, we can skip that part.

It's for charity, right? And I did pay for your time.

[He gives Bruce an intent look as if silently warning that backing out would be a mistake. There's a smile in his expression but it's likely reminiscent of a look Bruce has seen before - on more villainous people.]

Of course.

[ he glances aside flippantly, holding his glass aloft, like the look does little to phase him. he's a billionaire, quentin. do you know how many people he stands up on a daily basis? and nevermind as a curmudgeonly vigilante... ]

I didn't mean anything by it. Just trying to figure out what you'd like to do or not, that's all.

[mysterioisthetruth]

I did consider asking somebody else on the Hawaii trip but when am I going to get another opportunity to go with you? So we're doing that.

[In some ways, Bruce does remind Beck of Tony Stark - which isn't a good comparison in his eyes - but most of all, Bruce has money. And gaining funding for his projects is important to him. He's never been rich himself.]

Did you have a timeframe on when we depart?

Those are just tickets, Quentin. A trip to Hawaii with me will cost you a lot more.

[ he smiles again, in that smug rich boy way. like tony, bruce could be both brilliant and impetuous. ]

But our date in New York? That's entirely yours to decide on.

[mysterioisthetruth]

[He doesn't like that smile and it shows in the irritated - and obviously disappointed - look on his face.]

You're going on that date, right?

Hawaii?

[ he almost seems surprised, though inwardly he's getting the impression that quentin is only happy when he gets what he wants. ]

No, no. I have a business to run and a clinic to open, Quentin. People like me don't take a week off.

[mysterioisthetruth]

No, no. The New York date. I still get the time alone with you that I paid for, don't I?

[Yes, he did emphasize that in no uncertain terms. He's swiftly turned from jovial to an edged anger that's simmering in a very unstable way under the surface of his words.]

Absolutely. Like I said, that entire day is all yours.

[ he takes beck's anger in stride, both in the way he would as batman and as bruce. after all, it might be that he dealt with more petulant, angry businessmen than he did actual criminals. his shoulders are square and straight, and bruce casually looks away to set his empty ginger ale glass on a passing waiter's tray. ]

[mysterioisthetruth]

Good then. Tell me what date that will be and I'll make sure I'm available.

And please don't say it will be six months from now due to your scheduling.

I think tree lighting and ice skating might be a little out of season in six months, but I'll let you know.

[mysterioisthetruth]

Within the next month then.

[He says that as if it's a final offer - or else.]

This month, Quentin. They don't light trees in January.

[mysterioisthetruth]

Isn't that what I said? Sometime within a month.

So name the day and we can talk. Unless you want to start now to save time.

[He's turned very irritable.]

Quentin...

[ bruce steps a little closer and gently places a hand on his shoulder. ]

I want to hear more about your technology. But this is not the way that we do things, and we work on my timeline... not yours. If that works for you, then I think we can talk. Otherwise, I'll just reimburse your four hundred and donate four thousand instead. What do you think? Is that something we can do?

[mysterioisthetruth]

[He seems to be considering that then the word 'donate' sinks in and he realises the money won't go to him - and he selfishly thinks Bruce would do that just to one-up him.]

No. I'll take the date. Just contact me when you're ready.

Looking forward to it, Quentin.

[ he smiles and offers him a firm pat on the shoulder as he WALKS AWAY.... ]
