It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.


Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.

Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

[ Well, he wasn't going to comment on the beard thing again if Archie didn't like it, despite his little smile at the idea of Guzma shaving him. Hi, Finn has no idea what went down.

Anyway, he laughs at what he takes as a joke even if his cheeks feel kind of warm about it. ] Thanks. I never expected to earn that much.

Kind of surprised you didn't put yourself in the auction, too. Or did you bid? [ Archie missing out on all this fun? Say it ain't so. ]

Nah, I wasn't really feelin' like it. Got here too late to bid, too. Fashionably late, though!

Yeah, I noticed. [ Golden crocs, even. But Finn doesn't judge.

He looks Archie over with a happy smile, somewhere between laughing at the joke and happy that Archie's just being Archie. ] You look more comfortable than anyone else here.

[that's because finn is the perfect man.]

Yeah? You don't like what you picked out, or somethin'? Ya sure look good in it.

[ Finn smiles a little bashfully, a little cockiness on the tip of his tongue before he swallows it. Haha, what a sentence. ] Thank you.

I like the suit a lot. [ He smooths the tie against his chest, looking down at himself. ] Not sure about the white, but I like it.

[h2no]

Yeah? Maybe you're just dippin' your toe into a new fashion thing! Why not try other colours later? Ya like green, right? Get a green one! Fuck it, bro, we only live once!

I did have a blue suit that you ruined. Well, that Wailmer ruined. [ He missed Wailmer. ]

You think I'd look all right in green? I might try that next time.

I remember that. She was so proud of herself.

[he misses her too. at least she's safe at home.]

I think you'd look good in anything.

[ Finn huffs a laugh. ] Flatterer. But thank you. [ And if his face was a little warm, that had nothing to do with this. ]

No prob. You wanna hear how hot and smart an' cool ya are, ask me any time.

[a beat.]

[ Finn huffs a rather embarrassed laugh. He knows what really happened but prefers to go with the Official Explanation. ]

He said he tried to up my minimum bid amount to something he thought I was worth and then it... got out of hand. That's all.

[ Sure. ]

But if I ever need reassurance, Arch, I'll be sure to come and ask.

Oh, yeah. I'm believin' that. One hundo per cent. Won't ask further questions, for my curiosity is sated.

[he knows poe, finn. which almost means he does genuinely know well enough than to press.]

I'm glad I have expertise on somethin'. This ice-themed party, though! Makes me miss my ice types. I got a Walrein back home that can barf out an ocean of snow like the best of 'em. You'd love him, probably. Big ol' softie, just happens to have tusks strong enough to break through glaciers like tissue paper.

[ Yeah, yeah, he knows Archie knows the truth. It would almost fine to bring it up if... recent events hadn't unfolded.

But he does appreciate the change in subject. ]

He does sound like someone I'd like. Maybe not the ocean of snow thing, but I'm pretty cool with breaking up glaciers. [ He doesn't like the cold much, of course, and he's also gotten used to Archie's friends having ridiculous abilities. ] Maybe I'll get to meet him someday if the porter cooperates.

[h2no]

Hmm. You've had experience with breaking glaciers? [that's not something he expected.] Maybe.

[ Huffs another laugh. ] No. Just... don't like the cold. Or being near glaciers.

[h2no]

...You know, you never struck me as the type to want to punch stuff that you don't like apart.

[he says it with a laugh. what an answer, finn!!!]

I guess you haven't seen me on a bad day. [ It's a joke... and it isn't. But he says it like a joke. ]

But my unit used to run drills in snowdrifts. Can't say I'm a big fan.

[h2no]

Fair enough. There's an icy cave in Hoenn that's quite famous. Fulla Walrein and his ilk. You get Froslass and Glalie there too, sometimes. They're like... icy ghost Pokémon that'll murder ya for lookin' at them weird!

[he sighs fondly. what a weirdo.]

Oh... You know, every time I hear about the ghost types, it never really sounds... good.

[ But he's pretty sure one of Niko's is a ghost and all of his seem sweet. ]

Glalie is technically pure ice type.

[not... helping?]

Ach, they're the same as any other Pokémon, they just used to be human! [NOT HELPING]

Wait, what are Pokémon exactly? I thought they were... animals. Something. [ SOULS. Archie literally just dropped the DEAD HUMAN SOULS bomb on him. ]

Good question! [he says with a laugh.] No-one really knows!

[a beat:] We do know most of the ghost types used to be human, though. Niko's Gengar, for example! Back home, wild Gengars are infamous for suckin' souls out of people who travel alone at night because they want a traveling companion.

[he says this like... he's talking about a funny anecdote. it's a cheerful hellworld they live in, alright.]

[ Finn just... stares for a second... ]

I thought... that only happened if you touched him... Actually, I thought you were just messing with me.

Wait, are you-... You don't think Niko's Gengar does that?

[ He wasn't wild, but-... This would have been useful information months ago, Arch. ]

That too. Baku is well trained, but if it starts following you around and taking up residence in your shadow then... ah, maybe call me or Niko. That ain't good!

[why does a child have a pokémon that strong? it's not a question archie seems to be answering.]

Fortunately, wild Gengars are pretty rare. I heard there's ghost types in Alola that disguise themselves as sandcastles on beaches then eat you if you touch them! Ah, I miss home.
