It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.


Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.

Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

And now I almost believe you're an actual cop.

[ The corner of her mouth quirks upward wryly. ]

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. [ Reaching out, she straightens his lapels for him. He didn't need it. The man looks impeccable. ] You here with your eternally radiant soulmate?

[heliophilic]

[He lets her. Only for a friend.]

Of course. [He motions to said partner, glowing over some other part of the gala, talking to who the hell knows.] I forced him to dress appropriately today, though for some reason he just had to add a scrunchie as a bracelet.

[killtime]

[ Dryly, as she briefly glances over to where he was gesturing: ]

Please. As if anybody's looking at the scrunchie.

[ Not with the rest of Apollo right there. ]

[heliophilic]

You would think.

[But no, he's already heard people murmuring about the stupid thing.

It defies logic.]

[killtime]

[ With a friendly wryness, as she claps him on the back: ]

Could be a worse night, if the scrunchie is the only thing you can complain about.

[heliophilic]

Oh please, the fight computer's odds of this ending in flames is higher than you think.

[killtime]

As long as it happens while I'm on my smoke break.

[heliophilic]

Way to leave us all to die, officer. Really feel safe and protected.

[killtime]

[ She lightly shrugs. ]

Who needs the law when you have a combat computer in your brain.

[heliophilic]

See now I agree, but there's a lot of people in your profession that don't exactly think that's the greatest of ideas.

You know, being judge and executioner is typically frowned upon in the law and order professions.

[killtime]

[ Wryly then: ]

Not at my old paygrade.

[ Though those days feel far behind her now. Now? She gets in trouble if the handcuffs are a little too tight. ]

It's almost fucking laughable that I'm here playing babysitter.

[heliophilic]

[M stuffs his hands into his pockets and smirks.]

Because of how little you care about human life?

[killtime]

Because I'm a seven thousand year old immortal mercenary.

[ Giving him a little look: ]

You'd feel the same way.

[heliophilic]

Some days I debate whether I'm human at all.

[killtime]

[ Now there's a fucking mood. ]

Human enough to be melodramatic about it. [ Wryly: ] Come on. It's too early and I'm too sober for an existential crisis.

[heliophilic]

I didn't say I was being a pissy bitch today, but if you need an excuse to drink on the job, be my guest.

[killtime]

If only. [ Dry as ever: ] I should probably try to avoid getting written up though. You'll have to drink enough for the both of us.

[heliophilic]

You do remember I don't get drunk, right?

[killtime]

Doesn't that just mean there's more room in the tank?

[heliophilic]

Just because I can drink someone under the table doesn't mean I want to pee for the next 24 hours straight.

[killtime]

Guess that fancy computer brain is shit all against the call of nature.

[heliophilic]

The simple solution there is I don't have to eat or drink.

[killtime]

Technically, neither do I. Wouldn't kill me, but it would fucking suck.

[ She shrugs a little. ]

Still only human.

[heliophilic]

I feel this conversation has come full circle, my darling wife.
