WHO: Kaz Brekker and Sabrina Spellman
WHERE: Maurtia Falls
WHEN: Nov 26
WHAT: street magic
WARNINGS: N/A so far

The bird sanctuary is all well and good but Kaz needs to find more do to with himself. There are opportunities in Maurtia Falls, interest trickling in. Things need to quiet down more before he feels comfortable doing anything particularly bold. The end of the world, such that it was, had not been kind to him.

For now, he is entertaining himself on a bench in a park. He seems to have acquired a small audience: two young children watch as a coin the size of a half dollar appears and disappears in various places. For his part, Kaz did not seem to be paying particular attention; the children aren't standing close enough to really interact with him and he is content with that distance.

At some point a concerned parent calls them away. Kaz can't blame them; he's in sharply tailored clothes and a black coat: a dark spot in the otherwise mild landscape. At his side is his crow's head cane, leaning against one leg.

The coin tricks keep him practiced. He does card tricks in his room in the townhouse: cutting decks, controlling shuffles, finding cards and making them vanish again. Sleight of hand is a skill that will always serve him and he would hate to find himself out of shape.

He does all of his little tricks wearing a pair of smooth black leather gloves.

Kaz gains another audience member not too long after the kids wander off back to their parents. A cat with smooth, black fur and bright, attentive eyes strolls his way. Rather than wander around aimlessly as cats tend to do, this one walks straight up to him, taking a seat and observing him in a manner almost uncharacteristic of a cat to those who paid close attention.

Salem figures there's something curious about the fellow and he would like to know what. (It's also nice to break away from Sabrina, who's been rambling for the past hour about starting over in her quest to find a way home. It had gotten annoying, as much as he cares for her.)

But Sabrina is close by, her fuzzy boots crunching against the light snow. She's adjusting her bag strap when she locates Salem, quickly eyeing the other kid who seems to be playing around with a coin that disappears only a moment after she's seen it. Neat trick, she thinks, but still just a trick.

"Salem... there you are," she sighs at her Familiar, but looks back at the other kid so she isn't ignoring him. "Cool trick."

"He wasn't bothering you, was he?" Sabrina eyes Salem, who in turn shoots her an unimpressed look followed by a sarcastic remark. She rolls her eyes with a slight smile, shrugging her shoulders at him. "You do stare too much sometimes, you know."

Her gaze settles back on Kaz, this time looking over his cane. It's a peculiar design, although maybe it's part of his entire aesthetic. It's hard to say in this world, honestly.

She seems to be looking around for something, like an overturned hat or some kind of box where she assumes he's collecting cash for his tricks. Since Salem was watching it only seems fair, but she also doesn't have anything on her..

Sabrina doesn't try to hide her imPort/witch status from those anymore, but she oftentimes doesn't provide context either, which tends to confuse plenty of people who don't know her or Salem.

As for Salem, he lays down on his side, grooming his paw while his witch continues conversing with Kaz.

"Oh?" Sabrina offers an apologetic look for the assumption. "How do you do it?" she finally decides to ask, pointing to his hand. "Sleight of hand, right?"
