2 delinquents 1 princess
WHO: Archie, Guzma, Lucina
WHERE: a mall in Maurtia Falls
WHEN: a weekday
WHAT: ssshhhopping
WARNINGS: guzma's mouth
Archie! Over here!
[spotting her favorite pirate, Lucina leaves Guzma's side and trots over, shamelessly leaping at him to hug him. it's kind of excessive? but it's the weekday -- the mall isn't very crowded at this pre-lunch hour, save for some old people getting their steps and very bored people manning kiosks.
and even if it was? so what!! she missed her dear friend!
once she's settled on her feet, she gives him a peck on the cheek, smoothing out his jacket where she'd messed it up.]
I'm so happy to see you. Have you been able to get some good rest?

no subject
Aye! I'm all good. [he actually is, for a change. it's remarkable what surviving an apocalypse that isn't your fault will do for you.] And you two?
no subject
Out of habit, Guzma wants to shrug, but he can't. Not with that neck brace he's sporting. So, instead he dismissively waves a hand.]
Gettin' good rest is a way to put it, huh?
[By the end of that, he's got a smug grin on his face, which looks more ridiculous with the damn neck brace...]
no subject
But we can't sit on our laurels forever, can we? The winter will catch us off-guard. Did you just get here, or have you already had a chance to look about?
no subject
Well, no, but we can sit on 'em a little longer. I just got here! Slept in, actually, then Crobat wanted to come... he's around here somewhere.
no subject
What--just lettin' him get a li'l snack before we go shoppin'?
[Of course he's joking, but also...that's a total possibly with a Crobat...]
no subject
[actually, that gets her to thinking, glancing between them.]
Do the Pokemon need anything for winter, as well? Scarves or the like...
no subject
[like trainer like pokémon. archie just rolls his eyes and looks away from guzma. nasty boy!!]
Nah, they grow thicker fur naturally. Oi, Guzma, speakin' of... where's my boy, huh? My arachnid boy!
no subject
In his ball, duh.
[He retorts, seeming like he's not about to release him...until he does, and the good spider-boy appears in a flash next to Archie. With a quick glance around his surroundings, those big shiny purple eyes focus on Archie, and with a happy chirp he begins to scale him.
Guzma turns his attention to Lucina, by literally turning his body to look at her. Damn neck brace.]
But, like Arch said, m'Pokémon're fine too--well, Masquerain don't fair well in the cold, but scarves won't really work for him.
no subject
...poor Masquerain...maybe a blanket? not anything he could fly about in, but...everyone deserves to be cozy sometime.
with a smile tugging just one corner of her mouth:] Then that just leaves today's agenda to you. Winter clothes and a jacket. And boots, probably. [she glances to Archie, starting to frown as she tries to remember.] It snowed fairly substantially last winter, didn't it? But not for very long, if I recall...
no subject
guzma and lucina can talk between themselves for a moment. archie's doting on ariados.]
no subject
As for Guzma, he makes an affirming noise at that first part about needing better winter clothes, but then makes a face at the idea of substantial snowing.]
...Okay, when you say substantial, what ya talkin' about? Like, a couple of inches?
[His experience with snow is...pretty non-existent. It's only been a couple times in his life he's gone up Mt. Lanakila, and he hated every second of it.]
no subject
[she thinks about it for a moment, glancing down at her feet, trying to remember trudging through the worst of it.]
Up to the middle of my shin? I think that was the worst. It looked like a lot more when it was all plowed off the roads, though... Sometimes the piles were taller than you!
no subject
Maybe he should have let Atropos eat this fucked up world after all...]
no subject
no subject
[he drags his attention away from ariados for a moment. it's a struggle.]
Oh, aye. No. Snows heavy and hard all the time. Real bad. Almost froze once. Wouldn't like to be someone who's not great with the cold.
no subject
no subject
Ariados, Cross-Poison.
[By sheer force of habit, Ariados raises his forelegs--but stops, realizing exactly what Guzma's asking of him, looking at his trainer with as conflicted of an expression as his little arachnid face can muster.]
You think I'm kiddin'?
[GUZMA NO.]
no subject
no subject
[to empahsize this, he sticks his head between the poor spider's forelegs.]
TRY ME!
[sorry, lucina. they're just
like this.]
no subject
You heard him, Ariados! You gonna let him insult ya like that?
[At least there's...not exactly anger in his voice nor expression? Something more aggressively playful, than aggressively pissed.
They really are just like this.
However, Ariados looks perplexed, because Guzma wants him to, and Archie's telling him to, but he doesn't want to.]
Go on--show him you ain't no second rate Ariados!
no subject
Don't you dare speak to him like that! He could never be second rate! [a beat:] I have a Muk and a Crobat, Ariados. I can take your venom and then some. I won't force ya, though!
[he reaches out and pats it. like this is okay. though let's be honest, this is probably normal between trainers back home.]
no subject
[Ariados is slightly comforted by Archie's words, but he just stares up at him with those big ol' purple eyes with clear distress. The pat helps, and instead of slashing Archie with those forelegs, he uses them to latch onto him.
Guzma scowls.]
You're too soft, Ariados. Y'know that jackass deserves a good poisoning, but fine.
Anyway, what the hell were we doin'?
[He's totally off track now because of this totally normal and not insane exchange between two grown dumbass trainers.]
no subject
Winter clothes.
no subject
this idiocy is how they got accidentally married.]
Right! Aye, yes, winter clothes. The feathery down coats are good choices.
no subject
We don't talk about the marriage, nor the streaking through the Belagio fountain.]
Feathery down coat, huh?
[That sounds warm and like it'd be along Guzma's style. Fortunately his long legs make catching up with Lucina easily enough, and he glances at her with a smirk (mainly because he can't turn his stupid head).]
Y'know, this is what you signed up for takin' the two of us idiots shoppin'. Dunno what you expected.
