Somewhere, in a place that is and is not Jeopardy, time has passed. To some, it may have felt like mere hours; to others, days. For time doesn't truly touch this place. Only fate exists here, for imPorts to change or allow to proceed as it will.

Somewhere, the sisters look into the hearts of those with the power to decide the fate of this entire world and know their choice. A blinding light grows, forcing even the strongest to close their eyes, and as they do so, a vision of what could have happened appears in their minds. A world wreathed in flames, fire and screams echoing ceaselessly as they depart; a peaceful world, healed and whole and well—and a certainty that another world has paid a heavy price.

And then there's the sensation of three powerful forces leaving, two taking an unwilling third with them to wherever they are going. This world will be left as it is now, and its future will be whatever the people here make of it.

MEANWHILE, IN HEROPA

One week into the mysterious storm that has enveloped much of Jeopardy, citizens across the nation are losing hope. The government continues to monitor the situation at a safe distance, but cannot enter the affected part of the city, though one SEAL team did make an attempt, only to become lost in the wind for hours before emerging without ever making it through. While the storm hasn't grown, neither has it shown any sign of changing.

The heroes who bravely charged into the storm have not officially been given up for lost, but with no news coming from Jeopardy, few believe they will emerge unscathed. To honor their sacrifice (?) and offer sorrowful natives a means of coping, a candlelight vigil kicks off outside Heropa City Hall at 4:30 PM EST.



Speeches are given. Commemorative t-shirts are sold. It is at this point that a large portal of light opens up in front of the building and deposits all imPorts who entered the storm, as well as a confused but unharmed Layla and Sally Clapp. A stunned silence falls over the crowd — followed shortly by an eruption of cheers.

Organized chaos quickly reigns over the occasion. Medical personnel are quickly called in to aid any imPorts who might need it, and government officials quickly descend, one thing on their mind: what the heck happened, heroes?! ImPorts are asked to state, for the record, exactly what they experienced — which leaves a lot of room open for the more creative among them. Just what each imPorts is willing to confess to or lie about is up to them, but there are other imPorts at hand to refute or support all statements.

While imPorts are technically free to go, all are encouraged to enter the building for a debriefing with government officials. Those who care to share their story begin to paint a picture of what happened, and a flurry of transportation begins to move between City Hall and the local porter outpost, as Jeopardy will certainly require some aid now that it is fully accessible. Reports begin to filter back that while there have been some casualties and collateral damage to the city, it is far less of a disaster than the government anticipated during the storm, no doubt due to imPorts' efforts. Additionally, news from other porter cities begins to arrive; with the dissipation of the Jeopardy storm, all dimensional anomalies elsewhere have ceased.

Following the briefings, ImPorts may go home and get some rest, although they may have trouble shaking off the crowds — which are largely ecstatic that the people who apparently saved the world are in front of them.



While imPorts were occupied with the post-disaster debriefings, locals have used the time to launch an impromptu celebration of their defense of this world. Local restaurants, breweries and nanas have hustled their finest wares over, and free food and drink are flowing for the homecoming heroes. A local party & events organizing company has strung up some lights and tents in the park across the street from City Hall, lending a festive atmosphere to the area. T-shirts being sold to honor the assumed-fallen heroes have been 'edited' with permanent marker, going from 'FALLED HEROES' (there was an error in the print run, given the notice of less than a week) to 'RISEN HEROES' and are, regretfully, being given away for free.

For those who stay, an impromptu party breaks out, and the occasion quickly becomes the latest swear-in, albeit with a more casual emphasis on the actual swearing-in than usual; a card table is set up with the usual seals and documents, but it's a bit haphazard.

Along with tasty libations, local musicians start jamming on acoustic guitars in the park's gazebo, setting up some cheerful background music—or maybe you're not too tired to dance? A local physical therapy school has rolled in multiple portable massage tables, with free sessions for sore heroes!

The locals who haven't dispersed yet are also around, likely to seek autographs from the world savers, while podcasters, BlueTubers and regular nosy nellies might lean in with a recording device, asking for the real story of what happened. For imPorts who become too intoxicated or exhausted to porter home, many locals are offering couches to crash on — although the pillows they use may later show up on ePay.

One of the imPorts lost in the storm, Detective Loki had spent his time there helping out where he could, especially with his healing powers. He is exhausted, injured in various places and looks very much worse for wear. Medical staff immediately make a beeline for him and once he's patched up, they let him go about his business. Too tired to go far - but now inundated with questions all around - he tries to answer briefly and move on.

Help him avoid the crowded shuffle of curious questions?

Later on, he can be found trying to rest, sitting and looking very pale with his head down. But his mind is too restless to completely relax so he's obviously still awake, with so much tension in his shoulders. Maybe some kind soul will offer support.

She doesn't feel anything, not for him, or anyone else. The 'danger mode' was still in play, and only by continuously moving does she keep from vibrating out of her skin. It's during one of these walks-between-free-food that she sees him. The Jeopardy dust makes it clear he's an imPort (or at least that's what she tells herself, because it's much easier to keep in the right headspace if she simplifies things) and he looks more tense than most. Without thinking she speaks.

"There's a place near here giving free massages to imPorts."

ARRIVAL

[It's disorienting to so suddenly be dumped upon a vigil meant for their own passing but here they are. When the chaos ebbs, Darin, still worn and tattered, stripped to the waist due to having most of his armor destroyed in the week-long assault, spies a podium with a microphone. Figuring it's his duty as Aegis' Co-Commander, he wearily makes his way to the podium.]

[It's not exactly a dignified look for a victory speech, but you know what? Screw it.]

[He clears his throat.]

So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that our appearance at this vigil wasn't exactly planned! Well, I don't think I've ever been happier to crash a get together, let me tell you.

[There's some laughs and cheers, but Darin pats at the air, calling for some measure of silence.]

I'm not going to bore you all with the details of the things we saw in that storm. I'm not going to bore you with...with stories you'll no doubt see in the news and read online. You'll get the facts in due time. What I will say? It's this:

In the last few weeks, a lot of brave people stood up and declared that they would not stand by idly and let the world end. In the last few weeks, I've seen a joint collaboration the likes of which I've never seen before.

[He removes the microphone from the podium and paces.]

For those of you that don't know, I come from a world where gods are very real. And more often than not, it's said that going against the wills of gods, of defying fates leads to nothing but oblivion. Annihilation. That we, that people can't be trusted to choose for themselves...that we need to be guided. That our lot in life is predetermined.

That we should all be content to just eke out an existence and succumb to our place in a grand scheme that we can't fathom or see.

Well guess what. We aren't. And today, everyone here is living proof of that fact.

Today, we are all tradesmen. Today, we are all blacksmiths. We're free from the bindings and trappings of Fate. Today, we acknowledge that we are the masters of our own destinies! That our hands are going to be the ones to usher in and shape a brighter future!

[Darin kicks the podium over and starts hyping the crowd into cheers.]

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF OUR LIVES!! LET'S DO SOMETHING GOOD WITH THEM, AH?!

LET'S SHOW WHOEVER ELSE DECIDING TO KEEP AN EYE ON US THAT WE CAN BE TRUSTED WITH OUR UNIVERSE!!

[With his rallying cry quickly getting drowned out by the overhyped crowd, Darin turns the microphone out towards the crowd.]

CELEBRATION

[For those who can find him, Darin's donned one of the Risen Heroes shirts while he makes his rounds. He's eating food like he's never seen it before, taking photos with anyone who asks and...]

[And is that him trying to play the guitar with one of those local musical groups? Where did he even get the guitar? He's doing terribly but he doesn't seem to care. It's like all of his stamina has returned.]

[from the dark of a monster's maw descending on her closed fist to the bright skies of the waning afternoon, to say that Lucina is jarred by the change is...well, it's right, but clearly an understatement. the ringing in her ears makes the eruption of cheers a muffled sound, one so potent it shakes her ribcage as she turns and sees, through the cluster of other salvaged imPorts, the sight of citizens in shock and celebration.

mute and still tensed up from the midst of her brawl, she watches Darin give his victory speech, only half-hearing the words.

Darin's there... and...the others? she does slow and careful scans of the disoriented crowd around her for sign of those she knows, those she loves, her heart wrestling with the start and stop of fear. those who she locks eyes with get lengthy stares as she goes through the process of finding, recognizing, and accepting that they're there. any more than that is too much, and her eyes move again.

Today is the first day of the rest of our lives!

it's weird that, somehow, she can hear Owain yelling somewhere in that noisy crowd. Lucina, we did it! We will have defeated Grima! You'll see!

with tears flowing freely and unbeknownst to her, Lucina wavers, her hand going to the empty belt and scabbard at her hip, then drops to her knees with a choking sound, and weeps. what little of the princess is seen that night can be only in glimpses of some desperate embrace with a friend or ally or seated in obscurity from afar, her mind as far away from the singing and dancing as one could get while still being present. at least, until she's joined and pulled back, given reminder of where she is and what has transpired.

[ there's only a hand on her shoulder, having snuck up beside her, silently contemplative as he spots sally and layla at the head of the crowd. he doesn't look great, suit ruined and bloody, but there seems to be no loss of energy... a boon from the sisters, he supposed. ]

I. CONFUSED ALOLA MAN ARRIVES UNANNOUNCED AT VIGIL, CROWD JUST AS CONFUSED

[Guzma barely knows what's what when suddenly him and the others are dumped into Heropa all too suddenly. Right onto his ass, because Guzma's not worthy of a graceful entrance. The stunned silence sets the tension, and Guzma's left staring at them all as he rights himself. By the time he and others have gotten themselves to their feet (or you know, the ones who were able to land more gracefully than some were already there), the cheering has started.

Also, Darin's already on a roll with his speech, and that's quite enough of that for Guzma. It's a little overwhelming in a way, being in front of a crowd with a bunch of hero types and all of them cheering and being glad for their efforts—for his efforts. So, besides trying to find Lucina in the crowd of heroes he very much so doesn't belong to, he's gonna try to get the hell away from all this attention like it's the plague.

Sure, he wants to be acknowledged and recognized for his strength, but not like this.]

II. SPITEFUL ALOLA MAN INDULGES IN CELEBRATORY PARTY, STILL CLAIMING "HE AIN'T A HERO"

[He should be checking on Team Skull right now, and he knows that. However, after the week he's had (was that a week? he doesn't even know for sure), and then the eruption of a party? He figures Tupp probably has it under control, and he knows damn well he's earned this.

Of course for the most part he'll be trying to stick with Lucina, but there will be times that he's pulled away. Whether to get himself some drinks, or even to indulge in some dancing. And boy, can he! Now that he's drunk, and the relief has settled in, he's down for some breakdancing. Who knew a dude his size could be so agile and flexible, huh?

Other than that, he'll be denying fans autographs, and snipping at them for bothering him. Anyone trying to record/interview him might also find their phones or devices being confiscated by the mouth of one (1) Golisopod, whom of which has one of those RISEN HEROES shirts stretch over his fat neck/body, his smaller arms through the sleeves (the shirt is not long for this world). The giant bug having no qualms with how the devices noisily crunches in his maw. He might even give the person a friendly pat on the head with one of his little buggy arms! What a good lad.

However, by the end of it all, Guzma's thoroughly drunk, and will more than likely be heading home with Lucina. No stranger couch surfing for him!]

[At some point during the festivities, Darin manages to catch sight of Guzma. Before making his way over, he stops off at one of the participating restaurants and asks for a favor.]

[Not much later, Darin's got a giant platter of fruit that's just a little overripe and meats that are just beyond their throw out date. You know, the usual stuff you find in 'Chef's specials' that restaurants use to try and clear out stock that's beyond it's prime.]

[And he's got two chilled bottles of rum.]

[He puts one of the cold bottles right on Guzma's neck just to screw with him, then nods to a nice dank alleyway that's out of the way so Guzma can release his team.]

[this isn't the first time archie's ended up in another city with a very fuzzy memory of the last day or so. like everyone else who arrived with him, he's sore, tired and kind of over all that's happened. he doesn't need medical attention beyond a couple of scrapes to be wrapped up, so he decides to get to work offering assistance with his healing power after necking a couple shots of brandy.

that lack of energy loss was a great boon; he's mentally exhausted, but able and willing to help a good few people. you might be approached by his mightyena, a pokémon that looks quite intense, but clearly has a good read on people. if they don't like dogs, it won't come anywhere near you. if you do, well... mightyena has long since mastered the puppy eyes.

would you be so lucky for archie to do the same.]

Yo, [he says gently.] I'm one of the Aegis healers. Lemme help you out there...

[he won't force anything, of course. he figures he should do what he can while he still can. archie knows quite well that the apocalypse being avoided doesn't necessarily mean you can just sit back on your laurels and given his own experience with them, he has no interested in being called a hero or receiving any thanks or glory.]

[catch him sitting on the edge of a fountain-- the tall dorsal fin of his sharpedo poking out the water. archie's sitting with his legs in the water himself-- gross? it's cold and he barely bothered to roll his jeans up... gross. his muk is nearby, too, enjoying the crowd of natives who've gathered around it to throw their party trash onto its body. for muk, it's a nice meal. for them, they get to watch it bubble and hiss away in its acidic body. people are entertained by anything, right?

finally... there's crobat, who's doing nothing of note other than sitting on the top the sculpture of the fountain. not the... part that's spitting water.

archie's either watching the people playing with muk or speaking to sharpedo in an unknown language only the people from his universe will recognise, having flipped off that dang translator for the time being.]

[Mightyena found him first, because of course he did. and like the good boy he is, he helped shepherd Martin over to where Archie is lounging. Martin hesitates only a bit at the sight of the giant shark -- the one that screamed at him that fateful first day, the one he thought was going to eat him -- but, bravely enough, walks over anyway, looking more sleepy and bewildered than anything.]

It's not that Tina's not relieved that the world has been saved, but she's still feeling the gnawing guilt that others have fought and sacrificed while she... sat at home and just kept living her life. It doesn't seem right, she thinks, but everyone else is joining in on the party atmosphere, so there she is to do what she does best, setting up her usual table to serve burgers, complete with a menu:

VICTORY...

We - we won? Holy crap, we actually won.

[ Peter's stumbling out with the rest of the heroes, blinking around at the crowd and the very much not destroyed world with awe. Also a a little glee? And a lot of relief, oh yeah. Mostly he's just high off adrenaline for the moment, and glad to be alive. He's immediately getting out his phone to text his friends, or go hug anyone he finds out here. The world has been saved and he's so, so happy about it.

In the immediate flush of victory, his losses might not be so obvious. But they are present nonetheless: pale exhaustion in his face, a certain lack of vitality to his everything. And he reacts oddly to people getting too close to him, like an invisible alarm system is going off all the time instead of only when it needs to. ]

... AT A COST

[ As the night goes on, Peter's exhaustion gets progressively worse, until he finally has to excuse himself from the party to go hole up in a corner with his phone. He's frowning down at it, worry getting worse as his texts go from worried to frantic, and then panicked. ]

Hey, have you seen Marco? Did he end up in Jeopardy at all?

[ Maybe some people haven't come back yet. He really hopes it's something like that, because he's not getting a response, and the only other option for that would be... ]

[It's true that Beck was in Heropa, putting in an appearance to honour the lost... But he'd been keeping a low profile and dressed casually so when the heroes all suddenly reappeared, he tried to blend in there instead. First thing, he'd called Peter to see if he was among them and once he got a location, he headed over to meet up with him. It wasn't difficult to look distressed and concerned as he approached.]

Peter! Finally! This is such a mess. I was worried sick.

no, she's an absolute mess! she hadn't even entered the storm the moment it appeared, yet she looks like she spent a month in the mouth of a dead volcano! to say nothing of her hands...gods, her poor hands. all of that magic, all the overuse...it's not just itchy, annoying scales anymore. these are talons. she's mortified, and she will not be sticking around to be gawked at in this state!

it's why she's beating a path well away from the festivities as they kick up, desperate to get home as the daylight fades, trying to dip out of sight from any passers-by or nosy sorts in their vehicles. gods, this place has too many people.

this, of course, means that one ill-timed car-honk is going to make her squeak and startle, and, because of course, have her bump into someone she at least knows.]

[At least the someone she knows happens to be a sympathetic party. Who is no longer a stranger to talons and the echo of scales.

But the someone, of course, is David. David who was tired from the storms. He hadn't gone in the same time as it appeared, but he had found it to be more of a strain than he had ever been prepared for. To top it all off the world hadn't ended. Instead he'd appeared here, in Heropa. And there was nothing he wanted more than to walk away. To go home and curl up in his bed and pray Damian would find him so he could lay in his lover's arms and hopefully be welcomed there.

Instead he hears the squeak and turns to see a different familiar red-head. And then her hands. And David immediately takes his coat off and holds it out to her. He knows Cecelia enough to know she doesn't like people staring. She doesn't want to be stared at, and he can help.]

Carefully fold your arms in front of you, one hand around the wrist of the other. I can drape my coat over it and it just looks like your'e carrying the coat as you walk.

DEBRIEF;

Knock Out's just as confused and disoriented as everyone else after being spat out by the portal, his gyro sensors screaming vertigo at him. So much so that he actually moves away several meters from anyone else on the vague concern that he might misstep and actually squash someone. (He's already got plating full of murderbot shrapnel, he doesn't need messy organic squish in his pede joints on top of it.)

Unfortunately for the medic, his size makes him an easy target to spot for reporters and government officials who want to know exactly what happened, and he ends up being thronged by a large group of them. So despite wanting nothing more than a hot cube, a strong magnet, and a comfortable recharge slab, Knock Out pulls it together and gives the crowd exactly what they want.

It doesn't take long before his animated recount and apparent forthcoming detail even pulls some of the reporters away from imPorts who look like they really, really need to be left alone.

He weaves the tale of imPort cooperation and dedication, of them valiantly placing themselves in harm's way to protect the ritual's designates, of them throwing themselves between the OTO's dangerous spiderbots and ushering the citizens of Jeopardy to safe shelters. He lauds the bravery of the Jeopardy natives too, which seems to please the press in particular. He describes the feeling of entering the storm, of being cut off from the outside world, where time seemed to distort so that hours conflated with days until none of them were sure how long they'd been fighting monsters and being challenged by the Fates.

Knock Out is a good storyteller, and it's obvious that he's handled large crowds before. He's articulate enough with his words to dance around exactly what choices were offered in Clotho's test, and at the end of the Fates' battle. He carefully frames it instead as a test of courage, rather than morality, all the while obscuring exactly what each option had entailed.

"Of course we held the safety of this world forefront," he says artfully, as if the question surprises him. "Where would we be without you all as our gracious hosts?"

CELEBRATION;

Eventually the press and officials are satisfied, and hopefully those imPorts who don't want to be harassed have beaten hasty retreats by now, that Knock Out finally lets some of the dynamism fade. The celebration is in full swing by now, spilling into the park across from City Hall, and he finds an area that's a little less crowded to finally let some of the tension out of his struts.

The locals are trying really hard to include him in said festivity, but he has to keep turning them down with polite but increasingly wry refusals. "I appreciate the offer, but I can't eat cake."

"Oh. Diabetic? There's a sugar free one I can get you!"

"That's not the--" Knock Out starts, but the helpful person has already dashed off, presumably to find a mech-sized slice of sugar free cake for him. The medic groans tiredly, and accepts another free T-shirt (they must, he thinks, believe that simply giving him enough will somehow magically merge them all into one large enough to wear) and adding it to the pile next to him.

If any other imPorts are nearby, Knock Out might throw them under the metaphorical bus by pointing them out to the well-meaning citizenry to ply their refreshments off to.

CELEBRATION;

"They just want to thank you. You did help save the world."

Despite the smile and (attempted) upbeatness of her voice, Mizuki can't hide the relief at seeing he made it out of the storm in her eyes. Not after the week of worry for everyone in said storm, given she ended up sitting out of helping. Not from lack of trying, but pure fear on her part.

Also, it seems she's been given a few free shirts herself despite not helping. "... Was it as bad it looks, or worse?"

At some point, one demon manages to slink his way into the celebratory crowds, eyebrows slightly raised. He waves aside any suggestions that he's one of the world-saving heroes with "it wasn't me, I was taking a nap," though he does conjure up a drink from somewhere, either offered to him, or just literally conjured up. Because miracles.

Perhaps he'll be kind and assist one of the weary heroes being mobbed by well-wishers, either with a simple snap of his fingers or - if he's feeling a bit contrary - by scaring the shit out of them with a demonic face.

"Surprised this lot have their memories intact," he comments mildly.

Gabriel has been brushing off everybody with real looks of confusion because on the one hand the world didn't end but on the other there are people who are happy he helped stop it?

He'd been goaded into it. Trying to think of something to do to ease the stress of being possessed by that stupid spirit and his fight with Lilith-

His wings still ache.

"You can probably thank the boy for it. I don't think we ever wrote anything into the manual about it."

Gabriel for his part looks like shit. His normal stoic incredibly pressed demeanor is gone and he stares at an autograph seeker with a look of genuine confusion.

"Is the boy all right? Aziraphale?"

[ It's a bit of an unceremonious end, a great jolt, but-- Well, she's not going to complain about it. There is a period of time in which she feels utterly muddled and disoriented, unsure about the reality of the situation. There's several stretched-out moments in which it feels like the world, like reality, is holding it's breath.

But then the jubilation explodes. The world exhales.

It's hard not to get swept up in it, even through exhaustion. She must look at least half-awful in every photo, with bags under her eyes and dirty hair, but she's beaming. She filters her way through the familiar faces of her fellow imPorts, grasping hands and squeezing, marveling at another great moment of survival, another shot a life here.

Then there's drinks, a meal, music... Laurie's content to run herself ragged in order to keep basking in celebration. Pull up a chair or offer an arm; there will be more to face in the future, but they're alive right now. ]

[ that's the good thing about dressing like a giant, angry bat. the dirtier and bloodier you are, the scarier you end up looking. so, the way batman ends up avoiding the crowds and adulation, leaving that to all of the others to soak up, allows him the opportunity to find a quiet place away from the ruckus. do something batman. sit in his car and change his gauntlets. eat a bag of chips that he had leftover in the passenger seat.

Arrival

Kang feels like he spent days fighting the monstrosities in the power plant. He might have, for all he knows. When he comes through the portal, he's panting, he and his sword coated in blood and ichor. Some of that blood is his own, coming from various cuts and scratches.

A particularly nasty-looking cut runs down his left arm, noticed by two medics who quickly usher him away to get it taken care of. He honestly answers an official's questions as they work on it, though he leaves out the details of his memory in the church.

Celebration

Living in Heropa means that Kang doesn't have far to go home, but as exhausted as he is, he's also starving and in need of a drink or three. So, he pops into the celebration to grab some free food and beer, and to tiredly deny any interviews (one, he has intimidate with his wings and fangs before they get the hint). He does agree to sign autographs for a few children that approach him, at least. After about an hour, he heads home to pass out.

Anders looks around in confusion as he's practically dumped off from the portal. His hair has come loose from its ponytail, and he's still holding the staff Darin made for him. It really came in handy during the OTO raid and when he went into the storm.

He looks around at the confused crowd, only to be surrounded by fans and admirers a second later, all of them asking what happened to him and that they mourned him. It's almost overwhelming, this much positive attention for one such as him.

Somehow, Anders extracts himself from the crowd, and just leans against a wall, his staff held close.

"That... was an ordeal."

Celebration
Anders isn't much for big parties, but he figures, why not? It's not every day that one helped avert an apocalypse. But is that not what Grey Wardens do, is avert the end of the world? Granted, there were less Darkspawn, but Anders isn't complaining about that.

He's pulled aside for a podcast interview at one point, answering questions as best he can, before he manages to slip away.

At some point, he finds a lone spot to just relax in, a small smile on his lips. Yes, he feels good about himself, and it feels good to be honored.

Jane has a habit of pulling other imPorts out of tight spots, especially when those spots involve fans, and/or reporters who simply won't leave them alone. Mostly, she relies on the element of surprise and whisking her target away before anyone can realise what's going on, but this time she finds a man looking like he may enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.

She sidles up beside Anders with a smile, and tilts her head.

"Over here. Unless you want to wait until they notice you again."

After stepping through the portal, Finn's gaze wanders around to the crowd, and the vigil that's been set up. "Never thought I'd get to crash my own funeral, and yet here we are."

Once the shock of seeing the heroes alive and well wears off, Finn gets approached by a few civilians, all of them full of questions. "Please, one at a time." One is free to come up to him and ask him things.

Celebration
During the party, Finn wanders around, just taking it all in. They lived, and the world didn't end. That's three potential apocalypses that Finn's helped avert. He feels proud of himself.

He walks up to a bunch of musicians at one point, who immediately break out into a chorus of "The Dragonborn Comes" when they see him. Clearly, these people are big enough fans that they've heard him singing that. Unable to help himself, Finn dances in place as they sing.

At another point, Finn gets interviewed for BlueTube, asking about what went on in the storm and how he feels now that it's over. After the interview, Finn finds a bench to sit down on. All this celebrating can wear a man out. "I didn't even get this much fanfare when I saved my own world."

She'd sent him a text earlier, but hadn't had the guts to actually check what messages she did and didn't receive yet, so it was a relief to see him heading for the bench.

Naturally, she decided to see if she could sneak up on him to some degree. She trusted he had enough self control to not attack her should she actually succeed. He'd earned that trust, and she'd spent the past 'week' making decisions that would generously classified as 'reckless', so really it seemed like an amazing idea. Besides, she didn't expect to get far before he noticed anyway.

She carefully tried to come up from roughly behind and to the left, keeping in mind (most) of what he'd been training her to do, and no doubt looking very silly to the people passing by as she did due to the lack of any real cover. Her goal was to come up and sit on the bench with him. It really seemed like a really great joke if it succeeded!

Vigil
Kurt didn't go into the storm or take part in the OTO raid, but he followed a lot of the news about it. When Jonathan went into the storm, Kurt pretty much assumed he was dead too. He won't admit that he was sad about it.

So, during the vigil, he starts giving a speech, talking about Jonathan, when the portal opens up and the missing heroes return.

Kurt blinks for a few moments, "Well, guess we spoke too soon."

Celebration
Just because Kurt missed all the excitement, doesn't mean he can't take part in the celebration. His friend came back alive, and so did his friend's friends. That's worth celebrating.

Kurt has a root beer float in one hand, and a caramel apple in the other, because of course he's going to take advantage of free food.

Lucifer has not been paying as much attention to the goings-on around here as he probably should have, but, well, he does what he wants (which usually involves a party). And if it doesn't directly affect him or those he cares about, he tends not to pay too much attention -- a side effect of being immortal and invulnerable. He also doesn't live in Jeopardy or Heropa City, so this would have been an easier thing to miss.

Until it turned into a party. He almost has a sense for sniffing them out, because once it turns into a full-blown event, he's there, taking full advantage of the food and drink. He's even got one of the T-shirts draped over his shoulder; it's not that he disagrees with the sentiment, it's just not his style. Maybe he'll find a use for it later. He sent a message to Chloe earlier, letting her know what's happening, but doesn't much expect her to show up. This kind of party isn't really her thing, but at least she knows where he is and that she's welcome to join him.

It doesn't take him long to get in the festive mood, even if he's a latecomer to all of this. Clearly there's something worth celebrating, and when he figures out what it is, he raises his drink in a toast. "Cheers to them then."

He wants...He wants to be around angels. He wants to be around his own kind and he wants comfort. Watching the morningstar drink wine before he nods mutely.

Give him a few days to deal with reality healing itself because right now he has a headache.

Erik doesn't even know how he got here. He doesn't live in this city, he stayed out of what's been going on lately, and he mostly sticks to the city he does live in. He's here at the same time as the candlelight vigil purely by accident, too. He doesn't see the point in them; they're little comfort to the living, and it's not like they're going to benefit the dead in any way, either.

He's trying to make his way past the crowd when the missing imPorts begin returning, and then the crowd keeps growing and now he's stuck. He could keep fighting his way to the edge of the crowd and make his way back home, or he could find a spot somewhere and stay there until the crowd thins a bit and it's easier to move.

So that's what he's doing, squeezed up against a building. Standing, and watching, and not giving in to the festive mood even a tiny bit.

Or at least, he won't admit it if he is.

[This is basically Fett’s nightmare.

When the portal had deposited him into the middle of the crowd in Heropa, a week of heavy power usage had caught up with him all at once. He’s found that normally, he can sustain his armor-summoning ability for about eight hours before needing to rest. Knowingly or not, he'd exceeded that limit by at least a factor of twenty. The cumulative fatigue had hit him like a freighter and, more importantly, his armor had de-summoned almost immediately, leaving him in plain clothes. Suddenly finding himself without his armor, exhausted, and stuck in a crowd of people would’ve been unpleasant enough. And then everyone had started shouting.

Fett’s current priority is getting the hell out of here as soon as possible. Unfortunately, locals are making that difficult with their constant questions and jostling and eye contact.

If someone makes the mistake of further impeding his escape, whether by bumping into him or stars forbid, grabbing him, they will find themselves dodging (or receiving!) an elbow to the face.]

Excuse me. [The voice sounds synthesized and feminine even if the body is rather androgynous. A long sword and rifle are attached to its back and a pistol at the hip. Even without the weapons, the Warframe would intimidate most people. Most normal people, but it was obvious that nothing about this place was what she would consider normal.

Once she's found a quiet place though, the Warframe will let out a seemingly unnecessary sigh of relief before-

A teenager materializes right in front of it and the armor goes completely still. By all logic, the armor shouldn't fit someone of her size or it shouldn't move nearly so well with her in it.

Both the teenager, somatic implants and all, and the Warframe are mostly kept out of the way. Or so the teen tries. With everyone celebrating, music, and just generally wandering around and being nosy or annoying, it isn't easy.]

As one of the few imPorts here who wasn't dumped out of the abrupt portal, it seems the only reason Rupert is here is to check just how exaggerated the rumours of the imPorts' death really were. He's conspicuous amongst the returning imPorts in how clean and obviously untraumatised he is, flitting around the impromptu party and getting all the gossip on life in the apocalyptic storm.

"I'd give you a medal," he says cheerfully, sidling up to a fresh imPort to hear their story. "But I honestly thought you lot were dead."

Arrival

In her mind it isn't over. They're standing in Heropa and people are celebrating. Darin gives a speech (one she tries so hard to not scoff at - humanity in her world had long ago proven that they could best gods given the right tools, so this was simply another, albeit massive, sign that gods could be diverted with a little effort) and she tries to blend in with the crowd. It was futile - she was covered in dirt and dust and grime from jeopardy, and she had a shell-shocked look about her - but she tried all the same.

It was almost a relief when they were called on to give their statements. While she would rather be numb to whatever was going on and just keep a lookout for any surprises, she could at least continue to be emotionally detached from this all while stating facts.

Afterwards though, when she left the building after her statement, she found herself staring out at the city dumbfounded. What now? She almost wouldn't notice someone coming up to talk to her.


Celebration

After shooting off some quick messages to make sure people she knew were still alive (and failing to be able to send at least one message due to the recipient no longer being in this world) she decided to do what she did best. Eat.

While she wasn't foolish enough to try and get any alcohol, and certainly not around where there were so many cameras and witnesses, but she ate like she'd never seen food before. She would slip in, get free food, and slip back out without saying much. Grabbing food, sitting, and starting into it like her life depended on it before heading off to wander some more.


Wandering

As if she can't sit still for more than the time it takes to eat, Ruby can be ran into all over the place. Her shell-shocked, hollow appearance doesn't really change, even as she walks up to lone imPorts and asks if their alright, seemingly oblivious to her own abnormal state.

But hey, at least she got a t-shirt.

Kurt got a shirt too. It has Jonathan Walsh's face on it, because why not get a shirt with your friend's face on it? Walsh didn't die, nor did his friends or that weird elf who makes them treats.

He recognizes the redheaded human teen from the block party, and having seen her around the neighborhood sometimes. She doesn't look so good.

Among the crowds, followed by his small little black and white dog, wanders one Adam Young, not so much celebrating, as looking particularly thoughtful, and holding whatever soft drink he has been offered.

As this whole mess had begun to hit its apex, Adam and his caretakers had mostly taken to seclude themselves in their home, safely, and keeping out of the trouble. The boy had been fine with it, but he made sure to keep up with events as much as he could. It's odd, you know, seeing it all from this angle. It's an entirely different situation, but similar enough that he made his own connections and has had a lot to think about.

He doesn't really bother with anyone who might approach him thinking he participated in any of this. He's mostly concerned with finding his friends and acquaintances to make sure they're already, and to keep the crowds from tripping over poor Dog.

There is something that happens as he passes by, however. If any imPorts seem to be bothered by a particularly nosy interviewer or BlueTubber or the like, whatever recovering device or supplies the latter may be using will suddenly go on the fritz or break or get dropped in a puddle. Confetti and streamers may suddenly appear out of nowhere. Is that a huge box of party poppers?

Regardless, Adam will wander the crowds in the street and approach everyone he recognizes, and will talk with anyone who approaches him.

Richie backs up into a wall, clearly overwhelmed. He likes attention just fine, thrives off it, even, but when the people paying attention to him are talking over him like this and trying to rip information out of him, his throat goes dry. He doesn't look like he's had a particularly good time in the storm, covered in scrapes and bruises and a few bandages, his clothes dusty and dirty. He just wants to get some food, maybe even some alcohol, although he'd have to shift to some older-looking fellow for that. He definitely wants to crash on a couch and sleep for like, eighteen hours.

And then their microphones suddenly fritz out on them. One, who had her camera pointed at Richie, shrieks in shock and drops it as something pops and fizzles ominously. Richie immediately ducks away from them, catching sight of a little dog and a kid who seems not all that younger than Richie himself. A kid whose presence seems to have fucked up the equipment somehow.

"Hey!" He runs like hell towards the kid, coming to a stop in front of him. "Hey." He jerks a thumb towards the three interviewers, now panicking over the loss of their equipment. Richie doesn't care about that, as evidenced by the little grin on his face. "Was that you? 'Cause if it was, I owe you ice cream."

Sammy's still adjusting to the new situation that he finds himself in. There are some similarities to King Falls and yet it's not quite enough for him to feel at ease really. It probably doesn't help that there's no one that he knows here yet, really. And he's not totally in a hurry to change that but he's also not good at keeping his mouth shut for long periods of time either.

So it's only a matter of time till he's going to at least make his presence known at any particular location.

The place seems to be getting hopping into a party atmosphere and Sammy is interested in observing it if nothing else but catching sight of somewhere to get a beer he makes his way over.

"I'll have one of those," he's more than happy to get himself situated with a drink. "You getting something?" he might say if you're standing close enough.

B. He's not going to dance

[ A few brews later, Sammy's pleasantly buzzed and he settles nearby the gazebo where some he'd say amateur at best musicians are playing music that he'd also in his not so humble opinion decide is far too happy and poppy for his tastes. But, it's pleasant enough.

There's a light judgemental glance at some of the people deciding to dance and he shakes his head. ]
