though the outcome is bleak and our chances are weak
WHO: everyone who wants to fight zombies!
WHERE: De Chima General Hospital
WHEN: October 28th
WHAT: Zombie outbreak in De Chima's hospital
WARNINGS: Zombies, body horror, horror in a hospital setting
the outbreak.
[ maybe you were just here for a quick checkup. maybe you busted your hip doing some cool import stuff, or a work friend needed the company while they sit in the outpatient waiting room. it's a busy day and things aren't moving that quickly. and either way - your day's about to get a whole hell of a lot worse.
a snappily dressed businessman comes in, sweating bullets and looking worse for wear. he takes a number, sits down - and has barely done that before he's curling his hand in a claw and digging it into the arm of the man next to him. it's quick. the guy goes for another swipe, but the hospital staff are prying him off and dragging him towards the examination room.
the other guy just sits there, cursing a blue strip and clutching his arm. someone comes along to clean it up, bandaging it, promising they're going to have him in one of the rooms in a few moments. it quickly devolves into shouting - he was just gored, he should be taken in right now.
and that's really about as far as it gets. he starts to convulse. the next thing anyone knows, he's taking a chunk out of the nurse's throat.
better run. they look like they're coming for you now. some of the staff run in to try to help - but that's really only making more zombies. help the people around you and get the hell out of the way. some of the staff are frantically gesturing up. up the stairs or up the elevator.
but the elevators are going to stop working. if you're in them, you're getting trapped like a sardine. hearing the hungry undead clawing at the doors, eager to force it open and get a taste.
or maybe you've found a room to hole up in. barricaded the door with whatever you can and hunkered down, waiting for help. ]
lockdown.
[ third floor and up are quarantined. did you get bitten in the initial rush and are hiding it? are you a rescuer here to help evacuate the needy? better hope you can teleport. things are getting really bad down here. if you're able to move you'd better help get those barricades up in place, and hope that the zombies aren't going to be smart enough to figure out how to unjam the elevator.
you're safe up here, right? right.
except there's something making noise at a room in the far end of the hall. ]
the rescue.
[ the call for help comes out about twenty minutes post infetion, imPorts will arrive at the hospital to find it in a complete disarray. The lobby has been overrun - all the poor souls in the waiting room were already clawed and bitten all to hell, turning too quickly for anyone to help them. The ground floor is almost completely overrun. there are people hiding in their rooms - and some rooms that have been forced open.
The second floor is a similar mess. The monsters had been up the stairwell. Every floor after that has whatever could be moved thrown up against it as a barricade. Those barricades need to be reinforced, though - the undead are mighty keen on breaking through. ]
aftermath.
[ As far as outbreaks go - it's contained. It doesn't get beyond the hospital. It doesn't even spill out into the parking lot - they're too focusing on all of the morsels hiding out to concern themselves with what could be out there.
so pat yourselves on the back. you saved the day. or you were saved. or - maybe not so much. sleep away all the horror you just witnessed. or maybe you're ready to go kick some more undead butt and you're off to your next adventure. ]

It's a lot kinder than leaving the poor bastards who were already turned as they are, anyway.
So here he is, using stealth mode in his suit to get around the zombies on the first floor and checking out the second. There are a few barricaded doors, but the carnage is...it's a lot. Enough to make him angry in a way he can't describe with words.
At least he knows acid bullets are effective against the Undead.]

And the boy fights like a goddamn lunatic. Silent, but every moment screams violence. Jason's using stealth and Damian's in the middle of an examination room, stabbing the ever-loving shit out of one of the stiffs who tried to take him by surprise.]

Still not sure how he feels about that, but whatever.
He takes quick aim and takes a headshot at the one squirming on the ground, as if trying to crawl towards Damian and take a bite out of his ankle. Oh look, an exploding bullet. That's gonna take a lot to wash out.]
You like it close and personal, huh?

[ Thanks, asshole. Luckily his armor is already red - and stupidly, stupidly sharp and pointed. Though he's beginning to regret the gaps in the elbows and palms given how bitey these things are. ]
This is quieter and has less chance of hitting someone still living.

The bottom floor's been mostly cleared. We need to get the people left on the upper floors out. Do we need quiet or do we need a distraction?
[Because Jason can definitely provide that too.]

[ ugh. UGH. there's brain matter all over his shoe. ]
The bite seems to be incredibly infectious and fast working. We should have everything properly dead before we consider a rescue.

I think we just need to cut off some heads and they'll be dead enough to not be able to get at the people we're getting out. If we're taking them through the roof, they'll have a hard time getting up to them anyway.
