Finn hears his phone go off and gives it a quick check while on work. Looks like a bunch of gibberish from an unknown caller, so he just shrugs and pockets the phone again. Today's the day they clean the Big Tank so he's not overly concerned about weird messages that just look like random characters.
Until about an hour later when he walks out into the lobby and finds a vague, underlying sense of unease among the visitors. Good, so the empathy power's still working. He looks around at everyone, still a little overwhelmed about all of this, and doesn't realize he's backing up until he smacks right into someone.
B. Nonah
There's definitely something going on.
His lunch break is... eventful. Everyone's uneasy. Some people are excited, others are downright scared, but there's none of that boredom that pervades in a few minds every now and then. Everyone seems to be upset.
He realizes he must really look the part, eyes darting around real quick as he waits in line at the taco stand, jittery and bouncing on the balls of his feet. Whatever was going on, something was bound to break soon-
A bug flew by the edge of his vision, and Finn jumped away with a loud yelp... Then realized what he'd done... At least last time, there was a decent reason. "Sorry, sorry. I-" He has no excuse. Finn turns to leave.
C. Wildcard
Feel free to catch him anywhere at all! He's going to be pretty creeped out about all this.

Closed - Cecelia;
Like a whirlwind, a small half-elf barged in with multiple bags, leaving Finn blinking outside. Had they made plans? Was he meant to be informed of something? Did he-... Dammit, did he forget? Finn wracked his brain and came up empty over and over.
"Um... Look don't be mad, but... remind me what's going on?"

"You said I could come over whenever, didn't you? Well, ta-da!" She flourishes with a flat note, one that is cut off quickly for fear of bursting into song, so it's punctuated by a bit of a growl as she kicks her shoes off and skulks further inside. She stops before furniture impedes her to turn and affix Finn with an accusatory look.
"Are you going to say I can't visit, then? Are you going to kick me out? You better say it now before I get comfortable; I didn't come here to be humiliated, you know."
no subject
Once he realizes his hands are up in surrender, Finn puts them back down and followed her. "It's just that it looked like we made plans or something and I forgot about it. Sorry. You okay?" She doesn't seem okay, but he honestly can't tell if something's bothering her or if this is just... her normal.

"But it's good of you to even ask. No, though. Everything continues to be terrible, forever. I certainly hope it's not the same for you."

But it wasn't exactly a good thing.
No sooner than he considered just ditching, he turned the corner and came face to face with his answer... Of course, it was Catra.

That had been refreshing about Riptide. He had occasionally admonished her (spoilsport, really!), but still... he stuck around. He never acted like he didn't know her, like she was somehow dirty because of who she was and what she liked and what she did.
So she was just walking, stuck in her thoughts, until a shadow darkened her way. She looked up and saw Finn. "Oh," she said flatly. "It's you."
no subject
"Um, yeah. It's me... Are you doing all right?" Should he just not ask?
He would question himself about why he cares anyway, but... he just does. That's just him.
no subject
See, Finn was the kind of person Riptide was not like. Some judgy guy with a hero complex. If he was going to judge her some more, she wasn't having it today. Idly she wondered if it would be worth using her claws on him, if he wouldn't let up.

Hey are you doing anything today?
no subject
nah
y u wanna hang w/ ur boy?
no subject
It would almost feel like bribery to get closer to the Pokémon, but he didn't genuinely want to hang out with Guzma. So, yes.
no subject
where @?
Guzma honestly didn't mind the idea of being bribed with food if someone wanted to hang with his Pokémon. He didn't do much for free, and this would qualify as a payment for a service. A Pokémon hang out service, but whatever. It was just a sweeter deal if it was someone he enjoyed the company of!

Closed - Poe;
And he hated it. Base One was his home and this power was starting to ruin that.
Finn was sprawled on the ground, watching the night sky above him with a firm pout. He didn't mind camping, sure, but having it become a necessity was starting to grind on his nerves. It reminded him of the Order... He pouted harder at the stars. Never before had he felt as grounded as he did in that moment.
Then a shadow appeared in the sky above. Eyes shooting wide, Finn froze for a second before scrambling away needlessly. But with a little distance, he realized it was one of the units from Base One.
That literally answered no questions. Or, at least, not until he spotted Poe on the roof.

When he finally spotted the man he grinned widely and waved from above.
He tried shouting something but the wind carried his voice off, so he pulled out his comm and called, instead.
"Hey, bud. Figured if you couldn't be at home for a bit, home should come to you. Where can I park?"
no subject
"Anywhere," he laughed in reply after a beat, waving back. "Thank you, Poe. Want to stay for a bit?"
Closed - Bean;
But Finn couldn't help what was going on at home. What he could do is make life on Earth as comfortable as possible, whether the nanites solved the problem on their own or not.
And for his first trick, he had to find his friend. "Bean, you in here?"
no subject
The source of the chaos soon makes itself known, as a tiny copper orange dragon flies towards the newcomer and perches on Finn's shoulder, chittering softly. Bean comes running after it, out of breath, admonishing it for its poor behavior.
"Dink, get--come down from there!" There's a tense moment where boy and dragon look at each other, one stern, one defiant, before the pseudodragon finally relents and clambers down the length of Finn's arm to sit on a nearby surface instead, tail wrapped around its body, looking sheepish.
Bean sighs. "Ho, Finn. Sorry you had to see that. We've had... A bit of a busy morning."
no subject
Finn's reflexes were pretty good, but he froze when it draped across his shoulder and remained still until it crawled down his arm. That-
"Dink?" Was that its name? Finn leans slightly in for a closer look, a little smile forming on his features. "You got one of the cryptids, too? It's so cute."
no subject
"He's named for one of the other members of Ender's jeesh. I could have named him Crazy Tom or Hot Soup, but... Dink seemed to fit better."
Dink, for his part, looks back up at Finn when he hears his name, chittering softly. New friend? New friend!
"Ender's army in Battle School was called Dragon Army. When I saw there were tiny dragons, I couldn't really help myself."

He puts a hand on Finn's forearm gently when the poor guy tries to leave, tugging him back.
"Didn't think I'd see you out here. You alright, bro?"
ayyyyyyyyyyy
It had been a little while since he'd seen Archie, actually. It was good to see him now. Really good.
"I'm fine." Weren't they all? "I just... I think something's going on? I'm not sure. Are you okay?"
AYYYY
"I'm good," he says, and judging by those feelings coming off him, he... mostly means it. "You feelin' like somethin's gonna happen? We can get outta here, if you want."

"I'm beginning to think that's a customary greeting where you're from."

Finn stares at Judd for a very long moment, mortification written in his eyes. It's just been a terrible day.
"I swear I'm not usually like this," he answers after a beat, just about as awkwardly as possible.
