Keeping Busy
WHO: Loki, some closed prompts + OTA
WHERE: Various
WHEN: First half of October - After the compulsive singing has ended
WHAT: Catch-all for the first few weeks of October - Poke me on
skoegul if you want to do something
WARNINGS: TBA
1 - Escaping Rooms and Little Tricks [ OTA - De Chima ]
While he is reluctant to openly admit it, the idea of trying himself at these Escape Rooms David has brought up to him has proven to be a rather worthwhile distraction for Loki. Not only solving them and setting ridiculous time records at the ones he shows up at, but the entire idea of creating these himself is beyond tempting.
Not rarely can he be found in the proximity of one, preoccupied with his phone, a hot coffee or even more likely both. And certainly it isn't a habit of him to pay attention to others. Others have to pay attention to him to not be run over by a Frost Giant who is easily three times heavier than he looks.
At other occasions the Asgardian can be found acquiring various items. An activity that can't necessarily be called shopping, given that he rarely pays for them. And if he does, it's hardly the full price. And yet he's not stealing anything either. Much rather does he have a way to make vendors come to the conclusion that they have no need of these items any longer and that he should have them instead.
One potentially positive side effect is, that Loki at least possesses a variety of perfectly human outfits. A vast majority of them black. And he has yet to go and talk a car into his possession at least. Though he is looking.
2 - Among Humans and other Aliens [ OTA - Mauritia Falls ]
Adapting to new circumstances fortunately is one of Loki's strong points. And as much as he dislikes being stuck on a version of Earth, he doesn't exactly let his dislike prevent him from getting familiar with this planet and those beings he has to endure during his time here. Human culture proves to be one of the big hindrances. It's a lot more complex than he would have expected. Getting used to geography, politics and history is one thing, but culture? Norns help him.
And while Mauritia Falls has its very own sub-culture yet again, that's not necessarily why Loki visits this particular city every once in a while. Or maybe it is. Usually at the later hours of the day to entertain himself with some gambling and earning some - in his opinion - easy money.
Finding Loki at one of the bars is also possible. They are great places to kill some time and observes other people making fools of themselves.
3 - Not your usual Coffee Shop AU [ closed to Jane Foster - Heropa ]
Heropa is warmer than Nonah. Not in a way that makes the place unbearable, but the difference is more than obvious.
A large cup of coffee in hand, the Asgardian just exited one of the many coffee shops when he sees someone he hasn't hoped to spot simply walking down the street and straight in his direction: Jane Foster. Thor's little, human friend.
Perfect.
So Loki opts to simply remain where he stands, taking a sip of his black coffee. Once again he's dressed more or less casually and entirely in black, yet she may still recognize him. Especially with that remotely sinister smirk he makes sure to put on.
4 - Of Lightsabers and Magic [ closed to Obi-Wan Kenobi - Nonah ]
Loki doesn't bother with trying to sneak into the school he has agreed to meet the Jedi at. This is the same place this man had met at with Thor. Loki recognizes it easily upon setting foot inside.
There is something odd about remembering a place he is physically visiting the first time. Yet the Asgardian doesn't let that bother him.
Though instead of making his presence known in some way or another, Loki simply wanders into the building, keeping his eyes and ears open to a familiar voice. Or maybe he will simply catch sight of the man with his sword of light.

he's not sure what "right" or "wrong" places are, honestly; he just wants to discover something secluded, but safe. it's partly for reasons he finds practical, and partly...well...he's fifteen. there's a strange bit of wanderlust and curiosity mixed in with his timid tendencies, making for a strange lone adventurer out here on the edge of downtown.
people here are less likely to question it around these bars, so he's wandering the empty or under-construction lots nearby. and where he goes, vermin screech and scurry away, either out of offense or fear. the effect isn't the same on people, though: tonight, he'd strayed too close to the bar's lot, and some other patron, unhappy about something or another, mistakes him for a raccoon or something as he's crouched by the fence, and so is startled when a bottle is chucked his way, breaking near his feet.]
no subject
[ It's not the upset man talking, but his attention is drawn to another patron, tall, entirely dressed in black and looking surprisingly sober considering the hour as he steps out of the bar and past the man still standing next to the remains of the broken bottle.
The glass holds the Asgardian's interest for a few moments just as the other man starts to protest, yet is silenced by a single raised index finger and a quick, strongly suggesting glare. ]
Just go home.
[ Without any further fuss, the man does indeed leave, allowing Loki a moment to roll his eyes before turning his attention to the lone figure in the darkness. ]
And should you not be in bed?
no subject
he startles a little when focused on, his eyes unblinking as he stares back at him.]
I... [well, maybe he should, but. that is, uh--] I couldn't sleep...sorry. For bothering you, sir.
no subject
[ He cuts off there, casting a brief glance over his shoulder, fairly certain that this man actually had a name. Though it's not like that's something he deems important enough to remember, so Loki just shrugs. ]
Him.
[ Yes, that will do. He appears to be dealing with a child, after all. Possibly three years old if he's a human as far as the Asgardian is concerned.
He exhales once, then takes a step forward, lightly shaking his head. ]
And that's a terrible lie.
no subject
he makes himself look elsewhere while closing his fingers over the grooves in his hands, drawing them behind himself, where they uncurl and pick at the fence at his back.]
N-no, sir. It's not a lie. I...I don't like to lie. Sorry. I was just-- I'm not staying here, so--

In fact, his accented voice could easily be picked out from a room down one of the halls where a door was open. There was a row of students lined up on the middle of the floor. Each of them holding wooden practice blades. Young children for the most part.
"Take your stances. Wider, Billy. There you are. Now, lets go through sets one and two and see how well you have been practicing."

While he makes no conscious effort to stay unnoticed, Loki yet enters the classroom without making a sound, simply observing the group as they follow the instructions given.
At least they followed their orders well enough.
no subject
“Focus young ones. It’s not polite to stare at our guest.”
It’s then that he turns to look and offers Loki a genuine friendly smile.
“Hello Loki, you’re early. I hope you don’t mind waiting a few minutes. We should be done shortly.”
no subject
"Take all the time you require. I find this quite interesting to observe."
In fact, the Asgardian has never actually been to a school of any kind. He knows of them, yes. But he learned most of what he knows from his parents and excessive stays in Asgard's library.

Having nothing much to do tonight, Kurt decides to hit the bar. He starts himself off by ordering a shot of scotch, and something fruity.
Downing the scotch in one go, Kurt gasps at the burn, "Okay, that's a little better than mead."
no subject
He turns a vaguely more interested eye towards the man now seated next to him at the bar “And yet this realm has still to convince me of being able to produce anything worthwhile.”
no subject
He looks over at the man who spoke, "Oh, I dunno. This planet does have cheeseburgers, and Earth did eventually invent bluetooth." Meanwhile, Kurt's homeworld had space travel while humans were still using black and white TVs.
no subject
He gives a short shrug "And I don't see the appeal of cheeseburgers. Those are gross." Like so much other human food. Or even food in general.

3 omg that title
Loki, of course, stood out like a sore thumb. A person smirking like that in the middle of a busy sidewalk, dressed in black in the middle of summer, tended to do that.
“How are you not dying of heat?” she asked.
She doubted her question would throw him off guard, but it was worth a shot.
no subject
He holds back a chuckle, never loosing that smirk of his.
“How are you not simply dropping dead?” He asks in return, and with a few quick, long steps closes what distance remains between them only to hold a dagger to her throat that hasn’t been in his hand before.
“I could fix that.”
no subject
Fear and anxiety spike for a moment, but then she shoves it down. She survived having an ancient entity churning through her veins, using her as a tool. She survived multiple alien attacks and was paramount in preventing the end of the universe. She could survive this.
“I’ve got an ace up my sleeve,” she replied.
At that moment, Loki would feel something pushing against his hand.
no subject
Yet he blinks once at her words and sure he notices the pressure against his hand, resulting in a small frown.
Right. Everyone arrives here with one power or another.
The Asgardian manages to keep his hand mostly where he had put it, but there is a definite irritation in his voice and his smirk fades into an expression of annoyance.
"I hold more aces than you got sleeves, doctor." he speaks in a calm, remotely warning voice "And I strongly suggest you cease whatever you are doing if you wish to walk away from here without having every bone in your body shattered."

[M had been behind him at one of the registers, and watched him perform his little jedi mind trick to get out of paying. The owner happened to be an asset of his, and made sure to overpay on his own bill to not screw the man over.]

Do what, precisely, please?
no subject
[Yeah yeah look innocent. He's not buying it.]
Those places have insurance up the ass and barely care about loss prevention.
no subject
[ And if no one would get in trouble for it. And isn’t that the most important part? Causing at least a little bit of trouble? ]

"I'm pretty sure they actually want you to pay for those things," he says after a while. "Just saying."
no subject
He has just stopped around the next corner and raised that ridiculous plastic bag they had insisted on wrapping his most recent loot in into view only to regard it with some disgust before using his magic to transport the entire package to his current living space. Now all that is left is remove that most recent memory from his own mind- Which is just when he hears a by now familiar voice.
Oh.
Loki blinks twice in response, then shifts into nonchalance and shrugs.
"It hardly sounded that way to me." A pause, then "Are you following me, Peter?"
no subject
"Just when I saw you in the store," Peter says with a shrug. What? He'll be honest about it. "I wasn't sure if you were gonna make it out of the supermarket okay. You, uh. Kinda didn't."
What with the not paying for things.
no subject
"What do you mean by that?" The Asgardian asks. scowling "I emerged from that repulsive place successfully!"
And he will totally argue that.
