( she'd found the cards whilst she'd been in a bookstore, finding the designs of them intriguing and though she'd gone to leave them there'd been something about them that had kept her mind on them, almost as if they called to her. in a sense they had, tarot decks had energy with the witch who used them and something about these made her curious.

so she'd taken them to a coffee shop, working through them, examining them, making them hers. she'd pulled a few cards, the briefest of readings but even for a new deck, cards not yet familiar to her--

it wasn't until shooing away a few people that had asked about readings had lilith sighed an agreed to one. but then once she'd done one someone else had seen and that's how it had begun. she doesn't exactly have a sign out that says tarot readings $30 but she does still have her cards out, working into them, maybe finishing a reading for someone else. and she may do one for you )

NOTE: Lilith's readings are accurate. Though they show only a possible future, giving the reader an opportunity to change events it's based on relationships and snippets she'll clean from your character. If you want something specific re: MoM/cr future drop me something, otherwise I'll have some fun.

How much are you doing readings for?

I hadn't charged for them.

( she could but it wasn't about the money. lilith hadn't even planned on doing this and yet it had seemed popular. as she knew psychics and such readings were )

[Cassidy isn't known to be a patient fellow.

He'd have approached a familiar face no matter what, but when he sees Lilith with cards and people interested in it, he's all the more curious. If there was someone else waiting for a reading, they're swiftly shoulder barged out the way as he snatches for the chair opposite, spins it around and straddles it, leaning forward to fold his arms across the back of it.]

Those them fortune telling cards? Or just a really weird lookin' solitaire deck?

[Queried as he watches her with a keen level of interest, chin settling into the nook for his folded arms.]

I'm surprised that you haven't seen them before.

( it's a comment at his age even if lilith doesn't know specifically what exactly that is. he's a vampire, she assumes that he's a little more longlived than most people that she'd meet )

Particularly with your knowledge of-- what else exists in the world.

Oh, I-I've seen 'em before! I just. I dunno much 'bout how they work, is all. I'm a vampire, not a bloody soothsayer, y'know? I got other shite to be getting on with.

[Which isn't to say he's not interested, he's just defensive of his lack of knowledge in this subject.]

[And then there's Lucifer, who doesn't notice her while he's up at the counter ordering. But he does on the way back to his table. He must not be here alone, since he has one drink in each hand, and therefore has to acknowledge her with just a nod of the head.

He reaches his table and sets the drinks down, one for him, one for Chloe.]

[ Chloe was distracted examining the lemon bars when Lucifer, as he is wont to do, wanders off. When she finally locates him, it's impossible to miss Lilith at her table, tarot cards laid out in front of her, and Chloe sets her mouth in a straight line. ]

Maybe we should sit outside.

[ She cups her elbow with his hand, intent on steering him away. ]

Concerned, Detective?

( has chloe ever mentioned her job to lilith before? it's debatable but she's reading it now. she'd been ready to put her cards away after she'd pushed off the last mortal but on seeing them, or at least on hearing chloe's reaction-- well, maybe she'd turned a little focus back to her cards, to divining something about them )

[Well, the last time Ella had met this woman, she'd discovered that she was a witch, and since she'd seen her, Ella had discovered some things about herself as well. Like the fact that her friend was the like actual devil, her ghost best friend was like the actual angel of death and so many people in her life were just supernaturally touched. It's a bit hard to take in, and God knows that she can use some guidance, so when Ella sees Mary she just gives her a broad smile to go with her question.]

Hey, Mary. Are you doing readings and stuff?

I suppose that I am.

( she'd never intended to but at the same time lilith wasn't opposed to it - if she did really mind she'd be a lot stronger in her refusal )

Ella, I believe?

[anormie]

Yeah, that's me! Sorry about you know all the hugging and stuff. I'm definitely trying to be all better about it.

[And failing. Because she's like probably not actually trying all that hard. She is Ella after all.]

Would you mind giving me a reading? There's totally been like so much weirdness in my life right now.

[Somehow, John isn't surprised to see Lilith (not that he knows her by that name, only 'wardwell') giving tarot readings, although he might be a little bit disappointed.]

Bit of a stereotype, don't you think?

[Not that he knows whether she's a witch or not either, but she does give off that sort of vibe.]

That a witch reads tarot?

( she'll confirm that part at least. stereotype or not witches are very good at it, able to divine events through their powers )

[Lifting an incredulous and slightly sardonic eyebrow.]

Because the middle of a public coffee shop is the best place for privacy, after all.

[And he'll just have a seat across from her, she was just about to invite him, right?]

You any good at it?

[melodramagic]

[ Sabrina hasn't attended school in weeks now. She's almost deliberately making the effort to avoid it, mostly out of boredom and the fact the classes are repetitive and uninspiring. There's nothing particularly important that she's learning, at least... not in comparison to what she was learning at the Academy back home.

Although she's been cautious using her magic these past couple of weeks, learning the truth about where they originated from, she's still keen on learning how to use them properly.

But for now, she'll stop for some hot chocolate. Take a little break, then get back to into it.

Though the second she steps in and sees Lilith, she groans aloud and screws up her face. ]

... Lilith. [ Sighs. ] Never mind, I'm leaving.

[sathan]

( she looks up just in time to see her, to hear her name fall from sabrina and she stands, not moving from the table but hoping to stop her )

Sabrina, wait--

( except what does she have? why would sabrina stop? )

Please-- ( she gestures to the chair at her table. if sabrina hadn't even wanted to see her why would she join her? but she hopes that the girl will at least entertain the idea )

[melodramagic]

[ She flares her nostrils, as if she's gotten a whiff of a rotting corpse, but reluctantly moves toward Lilith's table. She pulls the chair rather loudly and plops down across from her, folding her arms with a huff in true teenager fashion. ]

Tarot cards? [ She shakes her head. ] Seems pretty pointless now, doesn't it? Now that I know my future.

► ANATHEMA DEVICE

( it had been a little while since lilith had last seen her. she'd set up the magical 'lessons' not too long after their last conversation, meeting periodically and discussing all manner of magic, looking at spells and even lilith demonstrating some more of her own power.

but then a few things had changed with her own life, namely sabrina. between the mandrake, sabrina's death, changing her life and then confessing the truth to sabrina she'd gotten sidetracked from it and then somewhat avoidant, at least whilst she was figuring out what to do now.

which meant getting back to it. lilith had contacted anathema, invited her over to her home in jeopardy for tea and more discussions. there were still some things on her mind but they would clear themselves up.

she gives anathema a small smile when she arrives, already having set the tea up for them )

It's good to see you again. ( despite how long she'd left it ) Hopefully you've not let anything slip in the time since I last met you.

[anathemic]

Oh, I don't let things slip. [ it's a breezy, confident admission, but a true one: anathema keeps meticulous notes and stays on top of her training, even when it's been days or weeks between being reminded to. ] It's good to see you again, though. It must be busy for you with the new school year starting up again?

[ a pretty reasonable assumption, though blind to everything else the woman's been going through lately. she settles down at the table, smoothing out her skirts and getting comfortable while lilith mary pours them the cups. ]

[ You'd almost think that it shouldn't be this easy to find people in big towns like this. Adam is still not quite used to them, though travelling around in teleporters is pretty cool.

He's heading out into the woods when he happens to notice her through a window he glances at. With no real plans to hold, he goes inside, approaching her as casually as always. ]

Hey,--Lilith. [ Okay, he almost said the wrong name. Force of habit.

The boy tilts his head, curiously eyeing the cards. ]

What are those?

[sathan]

Adam--

( she offers a small smile, not having expected to see him so soon. though with how he'd taken her truth perhaps doubting him was unfair )

They're tarot cards. Witches use them to divine events or gain some clarity.

( or other reasons but they were common )

[He doesn't really believe in things like this, strangely, perhaps, considering he knows people who can do things that look like magic, and can do things that look like magic himself. But he knows they're not magic, and he's been around long enough to have learned a healthy skepticism for just about everything.

So for now he's just going to sit at a nearby table, sipping his coffee, watching. Watching, and gauging reactions of those who do believe.]

( she feels the eyes on her even after her most recent 'customer' away, gathering her cards back together. her head lifts, finding him sat, watching and it seems as if she's content to let him be.

but then lilith turns to her deck again, hands expertly working the cards before lifting the top card. she doesn't turn it over, simply using her magic to send it across to his table, letting it sit face down in front of him. if he turns it over he'll find the knight of swords )

► EVE + SABRINA SPELLMAN

( seeing adam had been quite the surprise. she'd called to him, tried to get his attention but he hadn't responded, causing lilith to follow him.

and then she realised that maybe this wasn't a good idea. but adam was still there, a ghost before her--

even knowing it's not her best idea lilith can't leave, confused about how he's here, why he is. if she could save or free him. and she wants to try )

( Eve likewise was surprised to see two familiar children run by her, although shocked would be the right term. Yes, technically in her mind she knew that her sons were grown up and both dead, but this place had brought people from different times, so could it be possible? Perhaps she wanted to believe too much ... or perhaps she was ignoring the obvious reasons it couldn't be possible.

She immediately chased after them, tears already stinging her eyes, and when they ran onto the train she followed. She caught them there, laughing, and they looked exactly as she remembered. Cain with his dark hair and vivid blue eyes (Adam's eyes) and Abel with honey hair and dark brown eyes (her own).

She is sitting with them on the train when she sees movement nearby and lifts her head, recognizing Lilith and she smiles, still crying without realizing it.)

Lilith, look. (All she wants to do is share this with her friend.) My boys are here.
