Over the Bridge, and Through the Woods, and To the Picnic we go.

Harry was very happy. Things had been working out well, and despite the way some events happened around ImportEarth, he was enjoying himself. And half of that was owed to the woman whose hand he was firmly holding. Wanda Maximoff, who had awoken in him feelings he had not felt in a very long time.

She made him smile, and chuckle. and feel rather smirky about life. And she inspired him to do better, be better. She was responsible for him being able to take a breath and look at what he really wanted, which was why he was not pursuing medical knowledge, both in magic and outside of it.

Between her, teaching, and that, he felt really good.

Wanda is happily walking with him, silently, for now, just enjoying being out with him. She moves her hand after a while only so that she can lace their fingers together.

"So, what spot are we looking for?"

"Just something semiprivate, back in the woods a little, so we can laze about, have a picnic, and enjoy ourselves without worrying about people stumbling on us casually."

It was a nice day, cooler again, and he was looking forward to enjoying it with her. This was fun, this exploration with her, and he hoped to make things work better.

[divaricate]

"Ah, the best kinds of spots. Though if I have to, I can always make us seem basically invisible to everyone. 'These are not the people you are looking for'." Yep that sure was a Star Wars reference. "Wonder if we can find a lake or something too."

Harry chuckled. "I can do something like that, too. I was just thinking it might be fun to actually have privacy, but outdoors, but if you want, we could totally sit somewhere out int he open and be utterly unnoticed."

He was entirely too amused by this.

"That would be fun. At least a pond or something..."

[divaricate]

"I know what you mean." She says with a slight laugh, and presses a kiss to his cheek. She's following his lead when it comes to picking a spot, anyway. "We should do this more often"

He planted a kiss on her lips as he walked with her, grinning.

"Yeah. Just little breaks from life. I like this idea."

He stroked a hand over her hand, and down her back, and just possibly groped her ass. a bit.

[divaricate]

"Soon we'll have to resort to staying in, when winter shows up. The horror." Sarcasm at it's finest here with the last words. She leans closer to him at the touches. "Makes me glad I love you the way I do." The words fall out easily, but she suddenly wonders if she said too much in her comfort, so she somewhat surprises herself into a second of a pause. Way to go.

Harry laughed and squeezed her hand in his. "OH no! Whatever will we do? Gasp. Alarm. Terror." Sarcasm fairly dripped off of his words as he grinned at her.

"I love you too, beautiful Wanda." She made him grin so hard.

Feeling like he could say made him shiver. It was nice to know it, and not be afraid to say it.

Jeopardy

Their relationship so far has mostly revolved around food, it seems, which is appropriate, really. It tends to be a good way to get to know someone, and awkwardness can be covered by eating.

This time he's the one coming over with food. He's not sure what she likes, so he'd just gotten broasted chicken and some sides. It will do.

When he knows she's done with work one day, he comes to her house in Jeopardy and knocks on the door.

Food is always a good choice. She opens the door, and when she sees who it is, she offers him a smile and steps aside so he can come in. "Hey, how are you?"

[frankensteinian]

"The same as usual." He can't say anything has changed, really. He lost his powers but got them back again, in something he has come to discover happened to others too, not just him. Other than that, there's not much going on in his life that's terribly exciting.

"I wasn't sure what you'd like, so I brought chicken."

[divaricate]

"Better than some alternatives." She agrees, then closes the door with her powers behind him when he steps in. She collects some plates and utensils for them and sets them on the table. "And chicken sounds perfect; I eat pretty much anything. Except for American junk food."

[frankensteinian]

"You're safe then. I don't eat that either." As he sets the food out on the table so they can help themselves, he files that new information away. Next time he'll do something else, probably. "I'm not sure it qualifies as food."

[divaricate]

"Anything that's more corn syrup than food isn't food. At that point, it's just torture." She laughs slightly, more a breath of it than anything. "Right, drinks. Uh, I'm having wine with the chicken; do you want some?"

[frankensteinian]

"Wine sounds wonderful." Since she's getting it out anyway, and he likes it, and there's no need to inconvenience her any. "I think that's everything covered then."

[divaricate]

Setting the glasses out, she fills their cups, emptying the bottle that was about gone anyway. "And now we've mastered impromptu dinner. Pretty sure there should be awards for this."

Definitely.

"I'm glad you're here, though."

[frankensteinian]

"Normally I do prefer a little more planning than this." At least when it comes to dinner. Maybe next time they can plan something a little more home-cooked.

"So am I. I thought it was better than dinner alone."

[It was stupid. The whole thing was just. So. Stupid. He should have left it alone, he should have gotten away, he should've done better, been smarter about his investigation to what he heard that night.

But he didn't, and he wasn't, and now here he was, fresh out of jail with a second-degree trespassing charge on his record. Not the worst thing Diego had ever been charged with, but he had done so well, for so long in this world...

He'd caught the name and number of a lawyer somewhere-- maybe it was a business card in the police station, an ad somewhere between there and the porter station on the way home with his siblings? He doesn't remember. But he does remember the number.

Ring ring.]

[divaricate]

[ She picks up pretty quickly since she's here in the office anyway. ] Wanda Maximoff speaking, hi?

[deadlycurves]

The lawyer, right? [Cut right to the chase.]

[divaricate]

That's the one. How can I help you?

[deadlycurves]

I got into some trouble, got court coming up next month and... [There's a small beat and he sighs, though it's silent over the phone.] I got a second-degree trespassing charge and I wanna get it solved as fast as I can. [Beat.] Can you help with that?

[divaricate]

Absolutely. Do you have a best time and day to come by the office?

[deadlycurves]

Whenever. My job's flexible enough, it won't be a big deal. Especially for something like this.
