WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and You!
WHERE: Maurtia Falls, Heropa, etc
WHEN: August
WHAT: August Catch-All
WARNINGS: None
Pour Decisions - Maurtia Falls
He wasn't one to drink much, and Obi-Wan had steered clear of the bars for the most part ever since he came back to this world. However, it seemed that today was an exception to that. A lot had happened recently, and there was a great deal on his mind. Even a Jedi needed to unwind now and then, and not just with meditation alone.
So here he is, sitting by himself with nothing but a glass of beer to keep him company. He had little desire to go for anything stronger than that. Getting drunk was not something he enjoyed, and thus typically avoided. After all, one tended to wake up and find themselves chained to Sith Lords when that happened.
Despite his quiet and slightly melancholy look, he wouldn't object if anyone decided to approach.
Neo Jedha - Maurtia Falls
Ever since Kanan's departure, there was a definite lack of leadership at the dojo/community center he had left behind. Being familiar with the place already, Obi-Wan had decided to step up and try to keep the place going.
Meditation and self defense lessons were now orchestrated by him, which was simple enough. Though when it came to helping the youth with matters of this world, especially legally, that was a bit more tricky. He found himself floundering a bit, and he couldn't blame the children who murmured about missing Kanan when they thought he wasn't listening.
So when he wasn't teaching or leading out in meditation, the Jedi could be found pouring over documents and looking up information that might help. He had a job in Nonah to attend to as well, and the Jedi ran the risk of running himself ragged if he wasn't careful. Perhaps he could use some help, or maybe just a bit of encouragement.
A park in Nonah.
When Obi-Wan did have time for himself between his job at the fencing academy and his volunteer work at Neo Jedha, he could often be found in a small park in Nonah.
It was a bit of a regular occurrence and so the locals who frequented the park were used to seeing him there. The Jedi often sitting in the grass in the shade of a tree. The birds singing and occasionally a squirrel or a rabbit coming up beside him to sniff curiously while he sat perfectly still. Eyes closed, legs folded, and hands resting on his knees. A few stones sometimes levitating around him as he communed with the Force and cleared his mind. Allowing him to sense every living thing around him with great clarity.
So if anyone came by, he would most certainly notice them, even if it didn't seem like he would.
Anything Else!
((If there's something you want to thread with Obi-Wan feel free to drop it here!))

Ben stood by for a moment, head tilted. That... was cool. He liked it when others displayed their powers to be seen. He meandered a bit closer, biting his lip before opening his mouth to ask. "I don't mean to disturb you but, are you a imPort?" Locals don't normally show powers, do they? Not often at least.
He would pause his search for crystals in this moment, and search on soon. This was cool.
no subject
"I am."
It would seem a silly question to answer, but with some of the crystals giving people powers, it's understandable.

"It's been quite the day and I need a drink."
He makes a toast to the air and downs a good half of the bottle.
no subject
"I think it would be safe to say most here share your sentiments, my friend."
Sure they didn't know each other, but Obi-Wan used the term in default when not knowing someone's name with there being no reason to dislike the person in question.
no subject
"Have you been in this world very long?" He's assuming that the other man wasn't a native.
no subject
"Almost a year I believe if you put together the two times I've been here."
Yeah, he's been here before, left, and come back again.
"And you?"
no subject
Beck drinks some more then looks across at Obi-Wan. He's seen stranger outfits.
"Two times? What do you mean?"
no subject
Whether or not this fellow wanted to be here, Obi-Wan would at least try to make any newcomer feel welcome in any way he could.
"I was originally brought here about two years ago or so, stayed for a few months, and then ported out. A few weeks passed during my time at home, though I had no memory of this place, and then I was ported back. About a year had passed in this world when I returned."
The Jedi isn't one to chug his beer, so he just holds his mug between his hands for the time being.

Eventually, he turns to Obi-Wan, who's sitting next to him. His quietness makes Yusei think he's at least used to the place, so maybe he can answer him.
"You wouldn't happen to have any recommendations, would you?"
no subject
When he's asked for recommendations though, Obi-Wan raises his brows at the boy.
"I don't believe I'm the best to ask, but I have a general idea of what most items on that menu are."
He leaned over to point at the items on the list.
"The Qu-sa-dill-as are essentially melted cheese in a flat bread. The pigs in a blanket are a sausage in bread. French fries are deep fried potato sticks. The onion rings are deep fried onion slices..."
He continues to explain them all in such a manner.
"Generally all very unhealthy food that is certain to contain artery clogging grease. Might be right up your alley."
no subject
ya travel around the galaxy and see all sorts o weird shit and what you worry about is the hair? c'mon dudeHey, that's a better explanation than what Yusei was expecting (he's more used to "git outta here, kid, go suck on ya momma's tits, etc"), and so he listens fairly attentively."I've never really had the luxury of worrying about whether food is healthy or not, so...as long as it's decently filling..."
It's bar food, Yusei. Depends on the quality of the bar.
"Thanks for the help, though..."
no subject
FAIR! But it's still weird hair, you gotta admit. Even by Star Wars standards. There's a bit of a pause as Obi-Wan takes in what the boy says. He then waves over one of the bar employees while picking up another nearby menu and flipping it over to the page that isn't just a list of appetizers.
"Could you bring a house salad, hummus platter, and a chicken wrap for the young man here?"
no subject
okay fine. maybe it's. a little. weird.Yusei blinks in surprise, before an almost guilty expression appears on his face.
"You didn't have to...I mean..."
He was gonna pick something eventually, you know...?
no subject
"Besides, there's no time like the present to start eating healthier."
And well... he can't stand to see a young person going without enough to eat. Just ask Anakin. He was always insistent on making sure his Padawan was well fed.
There might be some history to that...

Takin' Care of Business (Workin' Overtime): 1
In her defense, she's been riding for three days and running on entirely too little sleep and too much caffeine, chasing someone else entirely across two counties, so she has a bit of tunnel vision.
But she has the guy she's been looking for, the fact that he's sitting just two stools down from Obi-Wan is irrelevant.
She IDs her mark from the door, closes the distance in a few long, fast strides, grabs him by the top of his head--greasy buzz-cut slick under her palm--and smashes his face into the bar. Once should be enough, but she lifts and slams him down again for good measure because fuck him before flashing the tattoo on the inside of her wrist at the bartender, who shrugs and relaxes.
imPort business, not his problem.
Her mark starts to slide off his stool and she ducks under him to pull him across her shoulders in a fireman's carry, and she braces up under the weight to rummage a few crumpled twenties out of her jeans to cover his tab and the bartender's time.
She'll take it out of her mark's hide, wallet or both later. There's zipcuffs in her saddlebags, she'll hogtie the fucker in her sidecar all the way home.
She might be humming a bit as she turns to leave.]
no subject
Obi-Wan can't help but raise his brows, but otherwise doesn't react, as he witnesses the man two stools down get his face smashed into the counter. Twice. That's going to leave a mark. He can't say he's never seen such a thing before, and it's really none of his business, but there's that Jedi instinct of his that can't quite keep him from keeping his mouth shut.]
I see Mandalorians still enjoy making a scene wherever they go, even on this planet.
[This said rather nonchalantly as she started to pass by him. How did he know she was Mandalorian? Well, there are a few clues. Having already spotted her on the network before helped too.]
no subject
What's it to you?
[If this is a scene, he's met some pretty fucking boring Mandalorians. Likely the New ones.]
no subject
Just the curiosities of an old man that has a history with your people.
[This said as he turned slightly to glance back at her with one eye. Looking down at the poor sap, before back up at her.]
Though don't let me keep you from your questionable activities.
[Which he's fairly certain isn't entirely legal.]
no subject
Not planning to. Enjoy your beer.
[She heads for the door.]
no subject
[And take a sip of beer he does.]
Oh.
[He starts before she heads out the door.]
And try not to pick a fight with my apprentice. He's rather temperamental these days.

"I'll have what this guy's havin'," he said, before glancing over at the hobo. "You look like you've had a day."
Pour Decisions
Not anymore than usual, really.
[Which probably says a lot about his life.]
What brings you here?
no subject
[ He let out a sigh as he got his drink, downing half of it in one knock back. ]
no subject
[He could understand the frustration.]
no subject
[ He let out a sigh, absently swirling his drink. ]
I could stand without some of the crap they call me in on, though.
