{I wanna try to be more than strangers » Vanya » A diner in Maurtia Falls » [backdated] 7/17
He said he'd come to her, and he did. He got up early enough to deal with the hassle of going through the Porter as an unsettled resident and made his way to her house. They hadn't decided where to go, but it would be easy enough to do on the way there. Even if Vanya got too inundated with the idea of choosing, Diego had no problems walking into whatever the nearest restaurant was and making the choice for them.
He walks up to the front door of the house she's staying in and hesitates for a short moment before shaking his head and pushing those hesitations away. He knocks on the door, loud and quick raps. Definitely what people consider a cop-knock. Sorry, Vee.

But knowing Diego, if she did that he'd either walk away and never speak to her again, or try to break the door down just in case something happened. Neither option is especially appealing, so she waits. And his knock still makes her jump, catching her breath and just staring at the door. Do or die time; she wishes it didn't feel like that.
Okay. She can do this. It's just grabbing food with her brother. What's the worst that can-- oh god, don't finish that question, it's so easy to come up with ten possible scenarios of worst things.
When she pulls open the door, she can't quite manage a smile, but at least he's not faced with a confused or mistrustful look.
"Hi. There's, um - there's supposed to be a few restaurants in this area." She made the barest effort at finding a place, but the prospect of potentially picking some place he'd hate made her stop.

"Do you know any place you might wanna go?" it's the easiest start of a conversation as they head back down the steps and toward the sidewalk. He arbitrarily chooses to go to the right as a start.

{Party, party, we're so wasted » Hargreeves family » Kryptonite plot
After Klaus, Allison and Diego manage to cart a very, very high Ben home, the four of them eventually settle in the living room in hopes of figuring out what was going on with their brother-- and riding it out, for whatever it meant, however long it might last, and making sure he at the very least knew he wasn't alone for it all.
What no one has yet realized is that in all of the mess of white, plant-killing crystals that Ben had collected--and has since dumped on the coffee table in a mess--there was one little silver one, which was causing all the fuss.
Somewhere along the way, every fluffy piece of bedding has been dropped into the center of the living room. Pillows, blankets, beanbags, couch cushions. Everything, everywhere in giant pile. Siblings drape across every conceivable surface in whatever manner makes the most sense for them at the time. What might happen next is anyone's guess.

Whatever it is that's affecting Ben? It's transferred to Diego, too. By the time they get back, he's practically slurring his speech, acting like he's drunk, or high. And Klaus feels it, too- maybe not as bad as he used to be. But the pleasant, buzzing drunk of a night full of weed and vodka and pleasant company.
He's dragged all the pillows he can find in the house down to the living room, ordered food for all of them, and is going to try and keep hold of his siblings no matter what. After all, he's practically a pro at dealing with a wild night being intoxicated.
Time to dote on his siblings for a change.

But still, there was some point as he lay there alone on the floor (even if someone was near by, if they weren't touching him he was clearly alone), head tilted back, eyes closed and started to sing.... Queen.
"Caaaaaan........... any-boooody find meeeee, some-body toooo looooooove." He was singing it, some old record one of the boys had, and singing it with soul. "Ooh, each morning I get up I die a little. Can barely stand on my feet..." Only to go into humming it because he might have forgot some of the words in his high.
IC/OOC LUTHER SUMMARY!!

Art is a Lesson - Luther & Ben, Guest staring Klaus
'Wine and Paint' A sign said and pointed down a hall way. A tiny 'room 4b' was painted on the sign, though the b almost looked like a fancy a. No matter, Ben seemed excited to do this painting thing.
"Wonder what we're going to try to paint. Bet it's a tree. or some Bob Ross kind of stuff. Happy little clouds." He teased.
no subject
"I like doing landscapes? I haven't painted many from sight—" obviously, because what the hell kind of landscape would he get to see, locked up in that house, "but I want to do more of that outdoors too. En plein air."
Of course Luther knows the proper French term for it. He read it in a book once.

Touch the Sky - Diego & Ben
Ben was so excited to do it. To do all of it. He found a place that if they aced the 6 hour lesson they could jump with out a tandem diver strapped to their back! The class had 9 other people in it, all of them new to the sport, and out of all of them, Ben and Diego took to it like a duck takes to water. The instructor seemed surprised and impressed. The other 9 students of varying ages and backgrounds watched these two with almost joy. they had ImPorts in their class and they were wonderful!
So on the day of the dive, there were four of them ready. A husband and wife team, strapped tandem to to instructors, who would go first, and Ben and Diego, with one other instructor who would jump last.
In the small plane, Ben sat there, grinning and practically vibrating with extra energy. He had video camera strapped to his head, looking like a dork and not caring. "This is going to be AWESOME!" He said over at his brother, grinning a huge stupid grin. He could barely sit still, all geared up and ready, the heavy pack on his back. "I can't believe we're doing this just for fun." And not for some god awful mission.

Vanya » Maurtia Falls » run-in (backdated to late July)
Getting to know Maurtia Falls, as a goal, first evolved from Allison living here; and then simply grew as Luther started spending more time at Aegis headquarters, corralling the occasional opportunistic (and almost fatally optimistic) pickpocketer or mugger on the streets, and meeting a couple other like-minded souls.
He knew that Vanya's new place was in Maurtia Falls. Knew, intellectually, that she'd been moved from North Carolina to Pennsylvania by the powers-that-be. But knowing it was different from believing it would have any actual consequences, because you always assumed it wouldn't happen. The math and odds were in your favour. It was a big damned city. Luther wouldn't accidentally run into his mousy sister here, on the streets, in broad daylight.
But that's exactly what happens, as he's walking down the sidewalk and she's stepping out of a store in front of him, and Luther grinds to a halt as if he's collided with a brick wall, deer-in-the-headlights in a way that's completely at odds with his massive stature.
no subject
There's no distracting from this, though: he's there, larger than life and frozen in place. Can't he just walk away? (Though she knows she'd be so angry if he did; she wants him to anyway.)
For a second, Vanya glances behind her, into the store, forgetting where she was. The sick feeling in her stomach makes her feel she's been caught out somewhere she shouldn't be. But it's just a bodega, the kind of corner store that she'd rather go to because it's less crowded than a grocery store. It's not a music store. He has nothing to judge her for.
Rolling her shoulders uncomfortably, defensively, Vanya's hand clenches around the handle of her plastic bag. Her mouth is almost too dry to speak.
"What are you doing here?"

Klaus » bar brawl » red kryptonite shenanigans (early August)
When he doesn't start levitating or hearing voices or hallucinating, Luther thinks he might've dodged that bullet, for once.
This, of course, is incorrect.
There's a slim sliver of an hour where the red kryptonite sinks in its claws, and in that hour, he and Klaus have wound up at the bar nearest their house. And as the lingering effects take hold, there's a change that doesn't seem too drastic at first, but it's so obviously not Luther for anyone who knows him well.
His spine straightens, his voice grows louder. He's quicker to demand another drink for them, and then another. He lounges in his chair with an arm thrown over its back. He's even shrugged out of his jacket and slung it over his chairback; not shrinking away from view for once, not trying to fade into the wallpaper.
In short, he's more like the Number One Klaus used to know. The teenaged Spaceboy, all brash smug confidence and swagger.
no subject
All the same, Luther isn't acting quite like... Luther. He's more like Spaceboy. Number One. Which, since they're in a dive bar in Maurtia Falls? Doesn't exactly mean a good thing.
Although...
"You ever played darts?" He laughs, looking at some tough looking guys around the dart boards.
"We're no Diego, but with your strength..."

Klaus & Ben: Brotherly Bonding over Tattoos
He wasn't sure yet what he wanted but he wanted another small one. When Klaus was done he said "So, what are you doing this time? I'm... not getting anything big, so I'll no doubt be done before you." Ben mentioned, hands sliding into his pockets and looking at the wall again.
no subject
Still, when Ben asks, he smirks, holding his folded up design in his fingers, sliding it across the counter to the attendant.
"Nuh-uh, it's a secret." He grins at his brother.
"And yeah, you're gonna be done a lot sooner than me if you're picking something small. Got any ideas yet?"
