IMPORT CHARITY BALL

[ The event is held in a re-modeled, warehouse. For those willing to dress up, dust off their best semi-formal attire, there are plenty of seats and plenty of room for hungry stomaches and thirsty participants. Imports, registered or not, are welcomed in. Civilians are also in attendance to poke and prod, politely one would hope, at any and all that are there.

Hank, of course, will be there to do a quick presentation on the building. He will go through the idea, the phases of construction, the benefits and why this is a good step in the right direction. The money raised here will go to the operational costs of the building and so on and so forth. Everyone will either stop listening to him or look up from their comms and be thankful he's done. Any questions and complaints, cheers or jeers, he'll be around to smooth things out. ]

[ She smirks a little, though she has no immediate designs on as much. Loki's pretty to look at, and if he's a thousand plus years old, he's probably not going to flail around and disappoint anyone. ]

Eughh, pass. He'll be all weepy because Lydia Martin dumped him.

Is he usually the type to get weepy when dumped?

[ She has just decided Skye has known him for yurrs at this point tbh. ]

I'm guessing probably more along the lines of moping while pretending everything's fine, really.

[ She looks briefly distant, because her last best friend had dated him. After a beat, she looks back up at Skye and shrugs. ]

But given that he's seventeen you might want to wait a few years.

Eeugh. Younger guys. Pass.

[ SHRUG. She's just saying. ]

Shouldn't you not be playing the field, anyway?

I'm not. I was just being facetious.

You say that now, but have you met Scott?

[ Because, like, she wasn't really playing the field either on account of being taken and she still got it. Which was Wrong and Bad and she would never hurt a friend like that again ok but

it's like 1% regret. ]

Uhhh, nope. Don't think so, anyway. Friend of yours, I'm guessing?

Yeah.

[ A beat, she glances off into the crowd, eyes going slightly out of focus on it. It's easy to look like she's searching it while she's truly just getting lost in her thoughts. ]

He used to date my best friend.

[ Allison. ]

... Oh. Well I guess that answers my next question, which was going to be why you aren't dating him, if he's so great ...

I tried. I mean, it wasn't anything serious, but while I was still dating Jackson, and ... [ She looks thoughtful. It wasn't that long ago—less than a year—and yet ... ] I shouldn't have. I knew he and Allison were a thing. [ She shakes her head, drawing herself out of the memory. ] They never really got over each other, and I'm pretty much done with high school boys anyway, so. Scott and I just aren't like that.

... Oh. Geez. That sounds messy. Sorry to hear it...

Anyway, you're on the right track. High school boys are all dumb anyway. Plus, you need to train them and everything. You know, in the bedroom department.

I know; it's ridiculous. And most of them can't follow basic instructions even after you give them.

[ huff puff!!! virgins tbh. intolerable. ]

I know, right? I am soooooo glad I'm not in high school any more.

[immuno]

For another week, neither am I.

[ She's got to restart her junior year in a week ok she's gotta get some joy out of her final stretch of summer. And then slough through redoing material for weeks ughhhh. ]

I'm thinking about graduating early. I'd only have to take a few extra classes; I made it through half of my junior year before I even got here. [ This is apropos of nothing, but Skye is like the cool older sister, so here she is discussing her academics with someone she actually respects intellectually ?? Weird. ]

[Too bad Skye is about to destroy that image in zero point five seconds flat.]

... Sounds about right for a genius. Though, uh, I should warn you I'm probably the worst person to have an opinion on anything high school related ever, I mean. You know I dropped out of high school, right?
