WHO: Luke and Altair
WHERE: Heropa
WHEN: Vague hand wavy something of this week
WHAT: Altair is getting frustrated with Luke being able to pick up where he is when he's trying to sneak around. It's time to fix that.
WARNINGS: Nooooothing at the moment?
[Luke frowned, not sure what to make of what he was looking at. ]
[ No, maybe that wasn't fair. He knew what he was looking at. He knew what a haystack was supposed to be. It was just... haystacks usually appeared in places like farms and things like it, not in the middle of a Florida street, at least as far as he knew. It was... weird, and he wasn't sure why it was there. ]
[ Luke paused a moment, looking around, as if expecting someone to be able to lay claim to a random haystack. Maybe it wasn't even a haystack; maybe it was really someone's pet...? His face scrunched up at that; that seemed a little far fetched, but... things could be weird in this place. ]
[ Which was totally why he ended up reaching out and poking at the hay. ]
[ Because this was normal. ]

It took him almost no time to walk up behind the other man, and was about to speak when Luke poked the haystack. Why...? ]
What are you doing?
no subject
Oh, hey; you snuck up on me that time.
[ He probably shouldn't say that like it was an amazing thing to a master assassin... ]
[ He shrugged after a moment, turning back to the haystack. ]
It's weird to see this out in the middle of the street. I wasn't sure it was actually what it looks like.
no subject
Weird how? I do not see them everywhere here like I did back home, but I see them frequently enough.
[ Do you just not pay attention Luke? ]
no subject
That's... not normal around here. Where are you seeing them?
[ Better question, why??? ]
no subject
[ Altair gives Luke a slightly worried look: ]
There was even the one in front of your mother's house. Do you not remember?
no subject
There... shouldn't have been? There wasn't one any other time I was there...
[ Except when Altair was there. Just like there was a haystack here, and Altair was here as well. Luke paused, frowning at him in thought. ]
...do you know what powers you were given on arrival?
Okay, I'm pretty sure he's never called anything a 'power'. Let me know if I'm wrong
[ Surprise surprise, he hadn't read the introduction paperwork. ]
Altair plz
You didn't read any of the introductory paperwork, did you?
no subject
[ Shut up Luke ]
no subject
We're given powers when we arrive here. Some of us manage to retain the ones that we had from home, while others get something new.
no subject
My vision would be one of these 'powers'; you assume these haystacks are caused by another?
no subject
[ Luke paused at that, raising a curious eyebrow. Altair's eyes seemed fine... maybe it was just something to do with how he saw things. ]
It's possible? But... why haystacks?
no subject
no subject
I mean, what kind of significance do haystacks have for you?
no subject
They are not significant. They are a convenient hiding place and make a good landing platform for completed Leaps of Faith, but I am not attached to them.
no subject
Leaps of Faith?
no subject
[ Altair takes a look at Luke's face and sees he doesn't quite understand ]
It is easier to show than to tell, but we do not have an appropriate location here.
no subject
...how do you not break anything...?
[ And does he really want to see this? Part of him is screaming YES, because surviving falls like that must be amazing, but the other part is wondering if he's completely lost his mind. ]
no subject
[ Really Luke, he doesn't know why this of all things is what fascinates you. You use the force for outrageous feats every day. ]
no subject
That's... really amazing.
no subject
And you can pick me out of a crowd even when no one else knows I'm around and make objects hover.
[ Speaking of.... ]
Are you going to teach me how to hide myself from you?
no subject
[ Luke couldn't help but smile at that, the haystack momentarily forgotten. ]
I pick you out so easily because you're so focused on staying hidden. Your focus projects in the Force -- loudly.
no subject
[ He thinks he gets it? Maybe ]>/small>
no subject
[ Luke paused a moment, folding his arms over his chest as he considered. ]
Maybe in addition to trusting you're hidden, try... just thinking normally. Thinking about your day, or the people around you. Blend yourself in with the crowd mentally as well as physically.
no subject
After a few minutes he opens his eyes and looks to Luke, ]
Is it working?
no subject
You have the idea. You'll just need to practice to perfect it.
