void dream ; open

WHO: The Outsider & you?
WHERE: A Shared Dream
WHEN: June, whenever
WHAT: The Outsider dreams of the Void, and sometimes people wander in
WARNINGS: Outsider often talks about or alludes to death, murder, violence etc, though he rarely goes into detail

[ You were asleep, and it almost feels like you've woken up again, but something is... strange. You get up, turn around and wherever you were sleeping is open wide to the Void.

Nothingness as far as you can see, except the strange black rock and some sort of species of whale floating in the Void, and the objects and things on the rocks.

The Void draws from the minds of who is there. Some of what is here may be random objects from this world, a hovercar or televison. But some are definitely from somewhere else - there's machines and objects and bits and pieces of architecture from the Outsider's world. Other things you may recognize from home, as the Void draws from your mind. There may even be people you know, from here or home, frozen and unmoving as if in a tableau.

While you look at something, the Outsider appears beside you in a cloud of his telltale black smoke.
]

You've found your way into the Void.

(( OOC: check here for more on how this power works. His vision power is still an option too! If you're cr, he may have pulled you in. If not, people can randomly wander in if they're sleeping the same time he is. If you have dream powers of some kind, feel free to have your character have more control over aspects of the dream, or jam with me about what that might do.))

It is not eternal. Degradation and decay are inevitable. But this is not slow. Less than ten years since the first imPort arrived, and it has begun to crumble. [Lachesis, existing beyond time, had arrived long before the event that brought her here. But her presence was no comfort.]

This world draws in so many others, yet it is isolated. I can sense nothing of the galaxy beyond it. If this world dies an unnatural death, we face only two options: the Porter transports us to another world to begin the cycle again, or we end with it.

[He disappeared as well, leaving the frozen image of his daughter wreathed in dark smoke, before reappearing near an edge of the rock, looking out into the abyss.]

I find neither acceptable.

I am. [He watches one of the massive creatures swimming in the open air beneath them, and he wonders what would happen if he stepped over the edge.

But the Outsider was more interesting. He turned his mind toward examining his host.]

Why do you appear so human? [He has read everything publicly available from the Outsider on the network--just as he observes many others--but no one had thought to ask.]

I expect nothing of those who are called gods. [It was easy to claim or bestow that title. And the only one in the galaxy who had come close to earning that distinction, his immortal Sith Emperor, had been so frustratingly limited in vision.]

But you ask as if a single form must be chosen. [The Outsider showed none of the distaste for the human form that the Pale Maiden had, in her time here. And perhaps she would not have minded either, were it not imposed as a constraint.]

[Of course he watched. He watched what others willingly shared, a far less intrusive process than he was undergoing now, with fragments of his past put on display.]

You do not change your nature, and neither do I. [It was only in recent decades that he had begun to wear the mask so constantly. Other Sith had commented that it barely made a difference, trading an emotionless face for a mask. But he had felt differently. It had freed him to think more clearly, when others could not meet his eyes.]

But now you have been changed by another. [The Porter leaves no one as they were.] What will you do?
