WHAT: ImPorts participate in the local carnival, hosting their own attractions, helping with the booths and rides, and/or come looking to have a good time. Details here.

Even in the daytime, Heropa Greenland Park appears almost dour in appearance and atmosphere. Employees of the park open the creaky gates at a few minutes before 11:00AM to allow imPorts and soldiers who have been ordered as security inside. Preparations have already started, with thick and colorful streamers lining hanging from one rusty looking lamppost another along the park's pathway. The booths look a little worse for wear and the while an effort had been made the night before, the park grounds are still coated in soda spills, popcorn, leftover hot dog bits, and other sticky and grimy messes. Sometimes the lights in the event booths flicker or burst entirely.

Needless to say, this place looks like it can use a makeover. While it fares well among its locals and those from Cape Canaveral, it has not been a place of interest among others in the state for quite some time. Right now? It looks more creepy than wholesome family entertainment.

But that's what imPorts are here for, aren't they? To liven up the place!

At the heart of the park is where employees have made enough room as possible for imPorts to set up their own attractions, booths, and whatnot. There will be small platforms for some imPorts and bigger ones may need to be shared among each other, scheduling their time slots for their own performances. There will be tables should anyone need it for performances that don't require a grand stage.

By noon there the line-up park employees had been expecting turns out even better than they had hoped. There are twice as many locals who've shown up, eager to see imPorts in action up close. By 12:30PM the park is bustling with people of all ages and all appear to be having quite the time, despite the occasional issue with the rides such as the merry-go-round (oops, it slows down more than it should), the carousel (it stops at least once every two hours), and the haunted house's lights go down at some point, though this seems to have worked in its favor.

Kids are screaming in delight everywhere, there are teens trying to do risky things on faster moving rides, and everyone is passing through the center at some point to come and check out what imPorts are going to do next.

Put on your best face and give them a show they'll remember, heroes!

[The comment makes him from a little-- really public safety first. It's why Hope is so retrained when using his powers around here, especially when they can be so destructive, or aid people in being destructive.

Last Resort is certainly his flashiest spell, which may be an instant hit with many people because of how much better it is than fireworks, but it's also his most destructive. Definitely not going to do that one.]

There is a certain level of expectation just by being here.

[ he says easily, as if he were somehow anticipating that exact reply. there's a casual shrug of his shoulders. for Loki, things like this were never an issue, because on this stage, he didn't care what was expected of him. there was a line between gods and mortals, that he was usually lumped with the imPorts (or that the imPorts were lumped together at all), always partially amused him. ]

Of course there is. [It's been hyped up to be something spectacular, after all. He'd be unobservant to not notice.]

However... Are you making a request of me?

[And yes, he's pursuing the subject, because he's a scientist. Vague answers are not answers at all. It's all or nothing for Hope, who deals with specifics, theories and hard truths.

Depending on how Loki replies though, Hope may have to deny him. He's holding back his magic for a reason, after all.]

[ spectacular along with being some kind of a carnival side-show. Loki wasn't unaware of just how much they were utilizing the imPort population. either this was a distraction, or something bigger lie in wait. it reeked enough for him to spin a dozen conspiracy theories. ]

[ he says, a little distracted as he looks up at all the other booths. it's like he doesn't think you can do much of anything, Hope. ]

But who am I to hope?

[A small sigh and a roll of the eyes upward to show how much he "appreciates" the pun is all he allows himself at the moment.]

You're a spectator-- that's probably why you're hoping.

You're lucky that I'm scheduled to do my share of tricks in a bit, so you'll definitely see something from me today. [Mostly harmless magic tricks though.]

Of course it wouldn't, that's quite fine. I can make myself comfortable here for some small talk until the time arises for your spectacular magic display.

I'm fine with that. [But not really.] Small talk to pass the time is all right-- and I'm far more alert now than I usually am in the cafés.

Well, it is the first time I've caught you before your morning joe.

[ he says whimsically, like it was every bit unintentional. ]

You're acquainted with Lightning, aren't you? Before you ask, word gets around.

Whatever word you've heard is inaccurate, then.

[Should he be surprised? Should he be concerned? Should he be in denial? Not at all. Hope finds nothing wrong about being associated with Lightning, considering how important she is to him, and is open about it.]

Acquaintance suggests that I've only just met her, which is wrong. She's my sister.

[ it was none of the above, actually. he had seen them converse over the forums. Lightning had gotten into some fairly hefty fate-defying antics in the last few months, so color him curious. ]

Your sister, hm? From the same world, then. The world with those gods that mess up everyone's life.

[ oH HE'D LAUGH IF IT WERE APPROPRIATE, but it's not, so he just looks somewhat amused for reasons that are ironic to him. ]

[He's not even going to make a comment about that. He didn't get into that discussion when it got onto the network, and he's not going to get into it now.

So he puts on his best apologetic smile and fakes it all the way.]

You'll have to ask Lightning about that if you want more information. I'm afraid I don't have much experience in that sort of thing.

[ he says with casual dismissal. ]

But if you find the subject too heavy, we can move on to something a little lighter.

[ it's a challenge—it wasn't at first—but it certainly is now. it wasn't information that he hinted at wanting, but he was curious to find out just how invested Hope was in this new universe that he found himself in. ]
