WHO: Fuu & you!
WHERE: An abandoned waterpark near Heropa
WHEN: Late January
WHAT: Fuu calls out her giant mecha for a chat.
WARNINGS:
Fuu had not expected to meet Windam again, here or in any other world. Yet, after she had landed in the blue light of the Porter for a second time, she had gradually become aware of him--a prescence quiescent in her armor, growing steadily stronger after the events on the moonbase. It shocked her at first to realize he was there at her fingertips, as he had been in Cephiro. But if the Porter could reach through space, time, and parallel reality--and do so to fetch her twice--then it was hardly strange that she could also reach into the place where the Mashin resided.
If only Fuu could understand why. The first time, certainly; America and Russia had been on the brink of war, and openly viewed imPorts as weapons for the fight. Now that was not the case, so why did the Porter find it necessary? And more than that... Windam was not of Earth. His duty had been the protection of a world very much unlike this one.
Perhaps that was why he had not yet spoken openly, despite being undeniably present. And Fuu tended to doubt that it would ever be wise to don him. Bringing a being of his size and power to a fight would undoubtedly cause more damage than whatever crisis was already at hand.
Still... she found it unacceptable to simply leave him there. She was aware that the jewels in her glove and breastplate were not cages, but portals--she had never felt confined when she was in the jewel that formed Windam's "cockpit." But nevertheless, she couldn't help but think of him as being cooped up. So she researched the maps of Heropa until she located a spot she thought would be suitable: an abandoned water park on the outskirts of the town. The cab driver had been surprised, but she'd explained she was meeting friends from the abandoned-sites club.
Once she was sure of the cab's departure, Fuu clapsed her hands over her heart. "Windam... please come out."
It was too much to hope that he could be inconspicuous, the flash of light and feathers as he emerged, a huge two-legged being resembling a robot adorned with epaulets and emeralds.
After a time, he reverted into his other form: a bird no less enormous, with emerald plumage and four vast wings.

gimme that mecha
She wandered a bit, decided to see what else is available. Hikaru didn't realize she had wandered so far as to an abandoned water park. She sees it and pauses, thinking about turning back.
But then there's a feeling. Something familiar, and then a flash. Hikaru's eyes widen when she sees a familiar looking robot appear just inside. Not hesitating a second, she runs in. She only stops again when she sees a familiar form, breathless and relieved.
"Fuu?"
no subject
"Hikaru...." A smile broke out on her face, and her feet broke out into a run, pelting over the cracked cement and past the faded plastic fountains. "Hikaru-chan! HIKARU-CHAN!"
Even with the armor on, Fuu flung her arms around the smaller girl, hugging her tight. Finally, finally the Porter had done something right!
no subject
Hikaru matches her run, It only take a few seconds to reach her, arms around Fuu with her armor and all and hugs her tight. After everything that happened, the fight, Emeraude, she thought she was alone here. But if Fuu's here, then Umi has to be too. They can recover and move forward.
"You're here!"
no subject
Fuu let go enough to look Hikaru in the face, searching for her feelings, searching for answers before Hikaru could give them. She kept her hands on Hikaru's shoulders. Something was a little off about her appearance, which she couldn't yet put her finger on--still too overwhelmed with the joy of seeing her friend again.

"I got here this morning. They have me staying in a place called Nonah? I was... walking. I needed to think for a bit, but ended up here."
There isn't anything strange or unusual about that, right.

Bird form
An abandoned waterpark, he thinks, is the perfect place for people to cause trouble, so that's where he heads, dressed lightly enough to move around and transmute if need be, while still staying warm.
He tenses when he sees a flash of light up ahead, readying himself for battle, but relaxes when he sees a familiar face in the distance, and Al puts himself in Fuu's line of sight as soon as it's evident that she's not in danger, waving.
no subject
Fuu tensed as Windam said that. But he did not transform into his more militant shape, so presumably, it was not someone he felt was a threat--still, there was relief in her smile when she saw that it was Alphonse standing there. It was odd to see him here, but she still gave him a friendly wave.
"Hello, Mr. Alphonse! What brings you to the abandoned water park today?"
no subject
"I'm being nosy," he admits, with a nervous laugh. "I keep thinking about how I don't know the other cities as well as I know Maurtia Falls... so I thought I'd do some reconnaisance here. See which spots might be trouble, in case Aegis needs to operate in the future."
no subject
"Ah yes... and abandoned sites such as this would be ideal for aspiring supervillains to construct a lair." Really, an abandoned park like this would provide a lot of resources. There was equipment in plenty, connections to city infrastructure that could be reopened, space, isolation... an excellent jumping-off point for those with less-than-altruistic ambitions.
She cupped her cheek in one hand. "Aegis is quite a busy organization, isn't it?" She'd heard its name frequently and looked into it a little after her second arrival, but it would be good to hear about it from someone who was a member.
no subject
He'd also been thinking it would be a good place for vandalism, but that seems like a pretty minor thought compared to the idea of a villain setting up shop.
"We are," he says, fondly. "I'm glad for it, because I like to keep busy. Of course, we do end up corralling rowdy teenage gangs as often as fighting off villains. Maurtia Falls is a pretty corrupt place, and there's only so many of us. But we do what we can."

takes a deep breath IT'S A GUNDAAAAAAM
The bike screeches to a halt. A second ago, there was nothing off to the side of the road but the tree line and the infrastructure of an abandoned water park. Now, towering in his vision, impossible to ignore, is a mobile suit.
For a moment, Quatre just stares, stopped in the middle of the deserted road looking up at something that shouldn't exist at all in this era. Then he kicks up on the bike and swerves sharply in its direction, his mind racing. This has to be some imPort's doing, that much is obvious, but Quatre has no idea who it could be. He chastises himself for missing the signs that there was someone in this world who had both the knowledge and the ability to bring these designs here. Did he miss someone from his universe? He doesn't recognize the model, though what really sets his heart racing is-- it looks more like a Gundam than anything OZ ever produced. But the infrastructure to harvest Gundanium is nonexistent here, much less the facilities needed to manufacture a Gundam, and after the nuclear strike on Heropa he'd kept even closer watch on any unidentified objects on track to intercept Earth's orbit, so how could it have gotten to the planet in the first place? Another imPort ability, surely, and he should have taken that into consideration as well, that just because neither he nor Duo had a power that could pull this off didn't mean that no one else could--
He throws the brakes down and is off the motorcycle before it fully sets in that there's someone on the ground in front of it. "Fuu, get back!" he yells, heart already racing from adrenaline. There isn't anything around here with substantial enough cover to protect against long range weaponry (if it has any; that's not a beam saber, but just because it has a knife attachment doesn't mean it doesn't have ballistics), he doesn't have any tools on him besides the guns in the hidden compartment on the motorcycle (get her out of range first, coming in with a weapon could escalate things further, and it would only be helpful if he were face to face with the pilot anyway) but he'll just have to make do without them; he'll just have to find some way into the cockpit so he can destroy the mobile suit before anyone else gets hold of it. At least he has the goggles, in a stroke of luck; he wore them because they serve just as well on a motorcycle as any other protective eyewear might, but it helps bring him right back to the war, the last time he had to take over another suit. "Please, it's dangerous!"
TROWA FLIPS ON OUTTA HERE
Fuu didn't need Windam's warning inside her mind to be alarmed; she was already spinning on her heel when she heard the sound of squealing tires. For a moment she hoped it was just some random thrillseeker zooming around on the deserted streets around the park, but the sound grew louder and the bike came into view, clearly barrelling right for them.
She backed up several steps and heard the telltale metallic creaking as Windam readied himself for action. "Please wait!" she called to him, the words nearly drowned by the sound of the motor. Fuu didn't expect anything good from the sight of a motorcycle making a beeline for her and Windam but surely the rider wouldn't just dismount and attack, right? Then it screeched to a halt, and the rider began yelling. She gasped--Quatre!--but before she could reply, assuring him that there was no danger, a beam of green light surrounded her. Windam, it seemed, would take no chances. In the blink of an eye, she was many meters from the ground and looking down at Quatre from Windam's chest.
Fuu started to move her arms; in such an awkward situation all she could do was press both hands against her face to regain her composure. But the sound of Windam's arms moving stopped her. Quatre was alarmed enough by this, and he would surely see it as a threat. Her voice echoed off the dingy slides and rides as she spoke. "Quatre-san, it's all right."
She felt, as she said the words, that it rather was not. But it was the best she could do.

The arms move and he reacts instinctively; he tenses, ready to duck for cover and hope that he's too close to the base of the suit for a clear shot. It takes him a second to realize what it means when Fuu's voice echoes around the abandoned park, not just that she's still in the area, but amplified as if she's--
"Fuu, you're-- are you in the cockpit?" he asks, blinking dumbly up at the chest of the suit.
no subject
She wasn't too sure the gem on Windam's chest was a cockpit in the traditional sense. It distinctly lacked in the area of buttons, wires, and readout dials. But it was close enough to the purpose. "Yes, it's me in here. I hope it wasn't too much of a shock...."
In other words, she knew perfectly well she'd just about given poor Quatre a heart attack.

BIRD
in any case, that radiant glare off her window is impossible to ignore, and, catching the last glimpses of it, certainly magical in some way. but what is it?
she doesn't bother asking any of her housemates about it, certain it'd just waste her time, and instead grabs her boots and starts a trek out that way, sharp eyes keen on the glittering residue still sparkling in the sky to guide her way. it's fortunate it doesn't take her near the busy city at all, otherwise she'd turn back for fear of another assault. but no, following the shoreline does it well enough, and soon she sees the outer skeleton of that empty park.
even with those high, boarded-up fences, she knows there's something there; her skin practically tingles at the proximity to such power. ferociously curious (and a little bit scared), she begins to search around for a way inside, all the while stopping to peer through cracks in the wood or chain-links for some glimpse of whatever phenomenon is within.]
Re: BIRD
Someone is at the perimeter.
[Despite his size, his voice is audible only to Fuu. She's already discovered that here, in a world almost totally unfamiliar to him, he is taking his cues from her... which is a deeply strange feeling.
But Fuu doesn't think she should feel threatened yet, not unless she sees a reason. She just turns towards the fences and smiles at the indistinct figure flitting around.]
Excuse me! Are you looking for a way inside?

[Cecelia freezes, ears twitching. that...that voice...]
Fuu? [she tilts to a side, trying to peek through a crack in the wood.] Fuu, is that you in there?

BIRD'S THE WORD
Here's the thing. Jaime knows that imPorts come here with all sorts of powers, that imPorts themselves come in all shapes and forms. It's not out of the question that the giant bird is because some imPort brought it in with them, and it's certainly not out of the question that the giant bird is, in fact, an imPort. Heck, they had a dragon here once. Like, a real, enormous, fire-breathing, destruction-spreading dragon.
But his experiences with giant animals - even, or especially, giant green animals - hasn't been great. The way he flies over is decidedly non-confrontational, but nor is it peaceful. He's a man on his guard, hovering high enough that he doesn't see Fuu; he addresses the bird straight on. ]
Um... hello, there.
Re: BIRD'S THE WORD
Fuu, on the other hand, recognizes that blue-black pattern at once. She's seen it before--oh no oh no. Regardless of the fact that it's somewhat undignified, she jumps up and down, waving her arms to get Jaime's attention. And Windam's attention. This is a hypothetical scenario she does not want an answer to.]
Mr Bee--Jaime-san! It's all right! Windam, it's all right! This is nothing to worry about.
[Windam pauses mid-motion. He had been about to take form as a Mashin. But he will rely on Fuu's judgment, even if this looks nothing like the Jaime he's seen through her perceptions.]
no subject
[ Jaime doesn't land, but he doesn't move any further either. He just hovers in mid-air, gaping between Fuu and the bird with an air of disbelief. He'd known Fuu has lived an... interesting life. He's not sure where this giant bird thing fits in. ]
So, um, this is a friend of yours?
[ The bird is, he notices, not talking. He still makes eye contact with him, though. He doesn't want to be rude. ]
no subject
No more than yourself, Mr. Beetle.
[With the armored person talking to Fuu, and her lack of alarm now that they've both been distracted from confrontation, Windam settles back. So this is Jaime Reyes' other form? Strange that it is still just the size of a human, a mere shell over his actual body.
Jaime, Windam knows, is the person on this world who is most important to Fuu; she has known him the longest and was happiest to find him still here. Not the same as a Magic Knight, but perhaps as close in import as can be achieved.]
I am called Windam.
[The voice is deep and booming, though Windam's beak does not actually move. Fuu decides to add a little more
expositioncontext.]He is a Mashin--a guardian spirit. Lately of Cephiro.
no subject
[ He is, in fact, not new to voices coming out of motionless beings. It's kind of creepy, but, like... whatever. He's used to weirder by now and any friend of Fuu's is a friend of his, so to speak, even if this one's a little more intimidating than the sort he assumed she kept company with. ]
So did he - did you come in at the same time as Fuu?
