WHO: Armitage Hux & Jacob Taylor
WHERE: a seedier part of MaurtiaFalls
WHEN: evening of Jan 5th
WHAT: Jacob interrupts an unusual drug deal
WARNINGS: Fighting, poisons, mentions of murder, torture, etc.
Reports of suspicious activity are not uncommon, especially in Maurtia Falls. What is suspicious is that this is not just any drug deal- there is a report that potentially that the drugs involved were rather odd and involved an ImPort so it was forwarded to Aegis.
With having more time on his hands, Hux had decided to learn more about Earth and what it could offer. There was a lot of options to work with and while setting certain rebel pilots on fire was tempting, it wasn't realistic. But there were other alternatives and he would explore what was available. He had arranged a meeting for that night through his connections in Maurtia Falls with his alias- Constellation still held some sway with natives there.
The deal was going to go down in the back room of some pawn shop- the owner liked to deal in more than just goods. Hux watched the man as he laid out what he had on a small try, sitting back. These were a far cry from a small beetle that could be easily flicked into someone's collar- aside from some blue milk and bacta, if there was something he could get from his home galaxy it would be a couple of lovely beetles from Parnassos. The collection laid before him now wouldn't have the same effect but he supposed that they were worth looking into.
He picked up a small vial filled with what looked like white powder or small crystals, the dealer looking nervous as he did. He listened to the man as he babbled about how deadly ricin was, how it was extracted from the castor plant, smiling to himself. But the smile vanished when there was a sound from the front door of the shop- someone was there who wasn't supposed to be. When the shop owner started to the door to interrupt the intruder, Hux took the chance to tuck the vial of ricin into an inner pocket of his coat, remaining seated but he was tense, trying to remember if he saw a backdoor somewhere or what his other options were in case the situation escalated.

"No one move!" Jacob calls out. His eyes flick to Hux when he sees him, widening in recognition if not exactly surprise. Of course the guy with weird ideas about torture is involved in this. His main attention is on the shop owner though, pointing with his free hand, gesturing for him to back off.
"Aegis Force. Everyone stay still and keep your hands where I can see them. That includes you, Hux."

He didn't care about the shop owner, his attention was entirely at Jacob as he looked him over. Full armor- that was going to be an issue. He knew that in a fight that Jacob certainly had the advantage so he would have to avoid that. "So what brings you here tonight?"
no subject
"Stand against that wall and don't make any sudden movements. One of you can tell me where the ricin is, or I can tear this place apart until I find it."
The owner looks very nervous at that, not just because Jacob knows about the poison but also because he doesn't want his shop upended by a search. He looks like he might start talking.
no subject
"Because right now that's what this looks like. So I suggest you reconsider your demands because I have errands I need to run and I don't have time for this." He knew exactly where the ricin was and it would remain secure in his coat pocket. However, now that Jacob knew that he was connected to it he would have to be careful.

That gets Jacob's full attention on Hux. He turns toward him, eyes narrowed. "You can get against the wall and empty your pockets, or I can make you do it," he says flatly. "I'm not asking again, Hux."
no subject
"I don't have to do anything that you say." He looked back at Jacob, the air around him even warmer now as he peeled off his gloves, taking a moment to tuck them in a coat pocket. He would have to deal with this himself.
"I will give you one last chance to get out of my way. Don't make this worse for you than it already is."

It's not just sarcasm. Jacob is kind of grateful for Hux giving him the reason to take him down like the scum he is, something Jacob has suspected ever since the results from the ethics test came in. His hands lash out, seeking to grab Hux by the shoulders and force him to the ground so Jacob can pin and restrain him.
"I'm bringing you in. Give up now, and it doesn't have to go badly."
no subject
"You and I both know I'm not going anywhere with you," he snarled. "I gave you a chance, you have only yourself to blame."
The shop owner was cowering against the wall now, he wasn't going to be interfering in this.
no subject
"That's a neat trick. Too bad my armour's fireproof."
With that, he swings a thunderous right hook at Hux's chin, hoping to end this quickly and wipe that sneer off the crook's face with a knockout blow.
Behind them, the shop owner bolts for the door, completely done with imPort bullshit for the day. Jacob lets him go. He has bigger fish to fry- or not be fried by- right now.

But that didn't mean he was going to give up. He didn't have time to avoid Jacob's fist, it set him stumbling back against the counter. That was the only thing that kept him upright as he felt pain explode on the side of his face. This was going to hurt for a while but he had to focus on getting away without getting arrested.
He could do this. The armor may be fireproof but Jacob's face wasn't and nor was the store. He pulled himself upright, flicking his fingers to the side, flicking out small fireballs that quickly started spreading. This was also a punishment for the store owner- a lesson that he was not to be trifled with.
"Get any closer to me and we'll see how fireproof your face is." His other hand had a small fireball in the palm, bright and radiating heat.

But of course, Hux didn't care, did he? People like him never cared. They just took what they wanted and hurt who they wanted, no matter what.
Well. That's what Jacob was here for. His own body starts to glow, blue in contrast to the orange of Hux's flames.
"Have a nice trip!"
He throws a ball of blue-purplish energy at Hux. If it connects, the General is going to be spending the next twelve seconds weightless and floating around the place.

Hux's eyes widened slightly as he noticed Jacob's body start to glow. He had to end this fast because the longer this went on, the more of the advantage Jacob had. He wasn't going to wait to see how long it would take for Jacob to charge his power or see what it did. He managed to lunge away in time, catching himself on a counter to keep from falling. Unbeknownst to him, the ricin vial slipped on his pocket, to the ground and was crushed under Hux's foot when he stepped back. He was in pain, he was angry, and the situation was out of control.
And he was going to take control back.
The fire built up in his palms as he drew on more energy, as much as he could without utterly exhausting himself.
"As much as I loved this little talk, I'm going to have to call it an evening." And with that he threw the fireball between him and Jacob, hoping this would give him a chance to get away without Jacob being able to follow him. This was taking a lot of his energy, he could feel how drained he was already.

"You can't run, Hux," he said firmly. "Aegis will hunt you down. And the whole world is going to know who you really are."
Hux may not have noticed the vial slipping out of his pocket, but Jacob caught a look at it, and he is not going to let that evidence go up with the flames. As soon as he finished talking, he pulled a small fire extinguisher from his utility belt and started spraying down the area, trying to contain Hux's destruction before it could consume the whole store.

Hux was heading towards the backdoor, glad there was an exit. He threw a few last small fireballs towards Jacob before using that distraction to dash towards the back of the store, through fire and smoke, so he could slip out. He had parked a few blocks away and though he was sure Jacob would stay to try to put the fire out, he would take the long way to make sure he wouldn't be followed.
This was a mess. It was also going to cause him trouble. As soon as he got to his car, he took a moment to send off a text to his attorney before driving off fast.
