we live in cities you'll never see on screen
WHO: REGGIE MANTLE and IRIS WEST.
WHERE: The Frisky Nickel, Heropa.
WHEN: The Friday following this.
WHAT: A job interview... ish.
WARNINGS: Underage drinking (or references thereof) possible; otherwise, none anticipated.
[ On Friday Reggie heads over to Iris's barcade as promised, going straight there from work rather than stopping off at home first-- no point in that since he also lives in Heropa, it's easier to just drop by the Frisky Nickel on the way. And he's looking forward to seeing the place in person anyway, considering he's surprisingly never been there yet. He wonders how strict they are on checking IDs, but Iris didn't seem concerned. So, that's promising enough.
Collar on his leather jacket popped, Reggie tips one hand in a wave as he saunters up to the front of the building. ]
I'm not late, am I?

Like Reggie, she had come straight from work, judging from her loose black blazer and neutrally-colored dress. From the outside, the bar seems fairly tame - a brick building situated near downtown Heropa, with clear windows highlighting both the bar and the numerous arcade games inside. The Frisky Nickel flashes on in neon lights above. ]
In fact, I'd say you were right on time. [ she beams, holding the door open for them - ] Shall we? I'll start with the arcade and laser tag, and we'll move back towards the bar.

[ He follows her inside, taking his time to look around them at the atmosphere of the place. It's definitely looking pretty sweet already, but he can think of a few ways he wouldn't mind spicing up the decor a little if he were to work here. For instance, might as well put up more things on the walls that he likes looking at, right? Maybe some kind of big, faux-street art style logo on one of these big windows, too. ]
So you're really on board with letting me bartend, huh? Or what did you have in mind?

In the evenings, we have game nights and laser tag tournaments, so you could help us coordinate those. Get our name out there more.
[ She grins, stopping right in front of the laser tag room. It's a smaller section compared to the rest of the barcade, but it has a screen, a very bored teenager who stands to attention when Iris arrives, and a few blasters still hanging from the wall. ]
Care to give it a quick spin?

[ Self-promotion mostly, granted, but his short-lived ventures in managing and promoting Archie's-then-Baphomet's musical endeavors ought to also count for something. Either way, he confidently winks and cocks a finger-gun Iris's way to better emphasize his point.
He picks up one of the laser guns, looking it over and then practice-aiming it, holding it in both hands, arms stretched out in front of him. ]
You mean like some one-on-one? You're on. [ He glances over, still smirking. ] So who's Terry...?

[ One of these days, Iris really has to stop assuming every imPort knows each other. Especially if said imPorts seem like they're around the same age, and therefore would run around the same social circles.
She picks up her own laser gun, looking a little fond - though whether it's at Terry's name or Reggie's aim, it's not clear. ]
Oh, I mean Terry McGinnis. He's a good friend of mine. A little older than you, I think? Anyway, he helps me with the bar and the arcade whenever I need an extra hand. [ which, frankly, is more often than she cares to count. ] You'll run into him eventually. Hopefully sooner than later, though.

Well then, just be sure you put in a good word for me. Even if technically it's still your call, at the end of the day-- you could decide right now if you wanted to, it is your place.
[ He fiddles with the gun some more, figuring out the buttons. ]
How many people work here, anyway?

[ Iris has truthfully left most of the day to day management to someone else, wisely giving her opinion for hiring and other major changes to the business. Despite this, she has been more hands-on than she should be. (Sleep? What's that?)
She waits for the board to clear before opening the doors for them. ]
The staff's evenly divided between those manning the games and those working behind the bar. Plus we've got a couple of cooks, since we wanted something more substantial than bar snacks. That said, there's still a bit of turnover.

[ Reggie does like the "arcade" portion of this place perfectly fine, that isn't the issue, he just really likes the idea of being a bartender. But it's part-time anyway, so a bit of flexibility goes without saying. ]
Do you guys do like, employee discounts? What about for friends and family?
[ Or dates? Not that he's asking. ]
no subject
And yeah, of course. [ It didn't even occur to her to do anything less. ] Discounts for drinks, a couple of free games here and there... I know the last owner didn't see any problems with it, so I figured I'd keep the tradition. Bring as many of your friends as you want.
