For
divaricate:
It had been a few years since Laurel graduated from law school and embarked upon a legal career which took her from a clinic right up to being the Assistant District Attorney of her home city. She remembered the all nighters, the insane amount of coffee she consumed and the last minute cramming for exams.
Despite all of that, she is more than willing to help someone else through the process and act as a mentor. The last person that Laurel mentored was Thea, but she was back home - she missed her a lot - at least Thea had managed to turn her life around, something that Laurel was very grateful for.
The coffee shop Laurel arranged for her and Wanda to meet was very accommodating to their needs. She's a regular customer so the owner was happy to allow them to bring in books and study notes and use one of the huge tables at the back of the shop. As a thank you, Laurel gives the owner a tip and orders a ton of coffee (and pastries) to keep the two of them going.
For
eloquentness:
Thank god for Iris West.
Laurel was grateful to have her friendship and support, especially in trying times. They were the last two standing from their world - a fact that Laurel didn't really bring up because she knows how much Iris missed Barry and Cisco. Hell, Laurel missed them too. Even if she wasn't part of Team Flash, they were still important to her.
One afternoon, she swung by Iris's apartment to pay her a surprise visit and invite her out for coffee. Or be invited in by Iris to have coffee there instead. Laurel doesn't mind what they do, as long as they got to hang out and catch up for a while.
Hopefully her friend was in.
Let's get physical:
Her fitness regime was varied. She liked to go running in the park, do some weight training at the gym and even took a few boxing lessons. Then there was the night time exercise, when Laurel went out as the Black Canary and stopped criminals or well, would be criminals. Sometimes, the streets were quiet and she didn't have to do anything at all.
Not that Laurel would complain of course.
She mostly stuck to her usual haunts in Heropa but occasionally, Laurel did go to other parks and gyms across the porter cities. It all depended upon what she was doing for work or whom she was visiting on that day - Laurel enjoyed variety.
Laurel also enjoyed a good sparring session.
Let's get down to business:
A year had passed since Laurel thought about setting up her own legal clinic. She knew that it would take a lot of time and commitment so until she built up some finances and support, it had gone on the back burner. Major had owned his own gym while he was here so that was a source of inspiration for Laurel. He probably would have wanted her to achieve whatever goals she had mind, even it took longer than desired.
Laurel knew she had to begin with something small. That something small happened to be collecting her business cards she ordered about a week ago. No office yet, but she would be saving money by operating from her apartment in Heropa, or meeting a potential client in their own home.
If the business took off, Laurel knew she may have to leave her job at the florists. It had been so good to her over the past two years and Laurel learned a lot about flowers and various plants; leaving there would be difficult but necessary.
She ordered fifty business cards and as Laurel was a first time customer, the print store offered her an additional fifty cards for free! What made it even better is how professional the cards looked, with a simple yet elegant design on them. Laurel left the store with an almost giddy smile on her face, taking a moment to look at the cards.
Then she punched the air with a fist.
Once could say that Laurel was more than a little excited.

"It should be illegal for books to be that heavy." A small joke (a legal joke at that) to get started. Ah yes.
sorry about the delay!
She snorts with laughter after that, gesturing to the seat across from her. "Pull up a chair, and we will see where you wanna start. Completely up to you. I'm just here to tutor."
ME TOO wow my inbox ate this??
"You haven't wanted to start your own firm here yet?" As she cracks open to the next chapter.

Before Cisco and Barry had left, she hadn't seen the appeal. They were practically living in a fantasy world. Then even after they had been sent home, she had found herself still buying the boxed sets and putting the show on as background noise. It made this giant loft feel less empty. A lot less empty.
When she hears a door knock, she springs to her feet, rushing it and opening it to see who's there.
"Laurel!" Iris beams, stepping to the side to let her in. "Come on in."

Laurel gives her friend a bright smile when she opens the door and steps into the apartment and waits for Iris to close the door behind them.
"Sorry for not giving you a heads up but I wanted to surprise you!"

Her TV show can wait, after all. It had waited for weeks. It can wait another night.
"So what brings you over? Sheer boredom, wanting a girls' night, something else altogether...?"

Or some other kind of sweet goodies - Laurel wasn't too picky.
"But if you wanted to stay in tonight, I'm cool with that. Maybe we could find a place that delivers donuts or something equally tasty?"

It'll have to do, and besides - she can blend in better when she's not all dolled up. She won't be recognized as the viral stage speaker.
Flicking the TV off with her remote, she reaches for her purse.
"I'm going, and that's that. You think the donut place two blocks away is still open?"
