[ It'd been an...interesting week for the skaters. On the last night of the age swap, Viktor had insisted on an impromptu "sleep over", complete with a blanket fort built in the middle of the living room. Yurio had objected on the surface, but it'd quickly become obvious he was glad to have somewhat familiar company after a week spent separated from family. It hadn't helped that he'd been warned about the dangers of this world either. Surprisingly, it's hard for a 10 year old to sleep when he's worried about violent protests and bombings.

So, when Yuri wakes up the next morning, groggy and tucked snugly under Viktor's arm, he at least has the benefit of knowing exactly why he's there. It doesn't stop him from pushing on Viktor's forehead to try to push him away. ]

[ That's just mean, Yuri. :( Viktor was soundly asleep thankyouverymuch, actually sleeping in for once since his teenage self stayed up way too long because he was excited about doing a real honest sleepover! Even the fact that his feet were sticking out from the blanket fort, too tall for it when he aged back up, getting cold in the air conditioned living room wasn't enough to wake him.

A rude hand pushing at his face would do it, though. The moment from asleep to confused and groggy wakefulness is sudden, making his arm constrict around Yuri even more. ]

Wha—?

Ugh.

[ He gives up in the face of being hugged even tighter, flopping petulantly back onto the cushions they'd spread out. ]

You're back to being a baldy.

[ He blinks, still groggy, down at Yuri, the hand now helpfully out of his face so he can see. ]

Oh ... you're not tiny any more.

Thank god. Being a kid sucks.

[ Says the kid. Though, to be fair, it had been a pretty stressful week for him. ]

Did you know Katsuki told me people wanted to bomb us?

[ He tilts his head to the side, considering the ceiling above them. ]

He's right, though complete honesty probably wasn't a good thing with a child that young? Maybe he's just used to you yelling at him if he's not completely open with you.

[ Yuri snorts, but there's none of the usual heat of his temper to it. He's too relieved to be back to his proper age again. ]

Or he's just bad with little kids. Did he say anything stupid to you?

Oh, a number of things.

[ He says with a grin before it shifts into something softer. ]

But it turned out okay.

Ugh, of course it did with you two saps involved. Don't tell me anything else about it. I don't want to hear you gushing about him.

[ As if saying that actually has any way of stopping Viktor from saying whatever he feels like. ]

[ It just makes him chuckle. ]

You were much cuter as a child, Yura.

[ A beat. ]

A different kind of cute, anyway!

I'm not cute now!

[ He's very cool and handsome!! ]

And you're only saying that because I didn't curse back then.

[ So cute. He glances back down at Yuri from the ceiling, tucking the arm not still wrapped around Yuri under his head in a I'm-not-ready-to-move-yet relaxed pose. ]

It's just one of the reasons anyway.

[ Yuri grumbles, because of course he does. It doesn't seem like he's in any rush to get up himself though. He only reaches up to adjust his own pillow a with only a little too much force. ]

What other reasons are there?

And I wasn't that big a fan! You just love any chance to soak up the spotlight.

Ah ... [ Viktor keeps smiling, but it's a little ... different now. ] Did it seem that way?

[ He hesitates a moment, frowning, and shakes his head. ]

No... I mean, when I was 10, sure. But thinking about it now... There was something weird about it. Off.

Changing between ages like we did made it seem really obvious, didn't it.

[ Was that supposed to have been a question? ]

[ It might not have been obvious to Yuri before, but that question explains whatever lingering confusion he'd had. ]

...Are you okay now?

[ It takes him entirely too long to answer that, tilting his chin back up to look towards the ceiling again. ]

... I think so.

If you only think so, then you're not. You'd know if you were okay now.

[ That's how it works, right? It sounds right to Yuri, anyway. ]

Is that how it works? I guess I've never really learned that, hmm.

... Does it feel like something was left behind when we changed back to our normal age to you?

Not really... I guess I feel less stressed out? But it isn't like something that's missing now.

Not missing exactly ... I'm not sure.
