[CLOSED]
WHO: Zoe Hange, Haen Hithiel and Petyr Baelish
WHERE: Hange's place!
WHEN: At some point after this conversation.
WHAT: A friendly gathering wherein they talk science.
WARNINGS: None foreseen? Will update as needed!
[ When Baelish arrives to the impromptu cook out, it's with the promised bottle of wine and the promised Haen in tow. And he's wearing his most....casual tunic. Which pretty much means one of a solid royal blue without excessive adornments. Look, he refuses to upgrade his style, okay. Let him continue to look like a medieval cosplay.
Petyr lets go of Haen's hand in order to knock on the door. ]
Like I said, I am certain you will like her. She does remind me a touch of you in her enthusiasm for science.
[ A final little explanation before the door opens. Maybe not a wise decision so much to compare another woman to your fiancée, but Baelish is sure Haen knows what he means. ]

Haen and Petyr will have time to sample those berries later, if they wish. Quick after Petyr knocks, the door is flung enthusiastically open. Hange has been waiting.]
Hello, hello! Good to see you both. [Often enough a sweaty, grimy mess, Hange cleaned herself up a little for this meeting and looks fairly presentable, though her hair is sort of a mess still.]
I thought we could eat in the backyard! Come on in, the coals are already going.

And you as well! Outdoors seems like a wonderful idea, may as well enjoy the nice weather while it's here, hm?

I am in agreement with Haen. The backyard sounds like a fine idea. Thank you for your hospitality.
[ He follows along with Hange's lead. ]
So I imagine much of the landscape out front was grown by your aid, correct?
[ Baelish gets the topic started and assumes Haen will carry it away. After all, with DNA and plant powers combined.....well. They're probably looking at an impending disaster. ]

The front room... is a site of organized chaos, apparently. There are books piled all over the place, with only a little space on the couch and coffee table; books and plants. It's pretty obvious why she isn't having them eat indoors, because there would hardly be room for three people to settle down for a chat and a meal inside. The dining room is similarly jam-packed with stuff and flora. Hange has a split kitchen sink and the right side, where a dish rack and drying dishes would usually be, is stoppered and filled with water. A few lilies are floating in there. All this is only seen briefly as Hange powerwalks through the house towards the back door.]
Correct and correct! The front and back yards were wrought by me. The front is prosaic, but the back is a little more fun! You might have noticed the berries out front? Feel free to help yourselves back here, they're human-edible.
[Here's the back door. Hange leads them out into the backyard, which is small and feels cozy or claustrophobic depending on inclination. The roseberry bushes rise above their heads. There are plants all over the place; blooming white Hydrangeas, presenting luxurious ruffles, and mint carpeting the ground underfoot, releasing its cutting scent when the party steps on it. There's staked young corn growing straight up, a grill in one corner of the yard, a glass-top patio table sitting nearby it, and a large glass bowl of summer salad sitting on top of the table.]

It's beautiful dear, absolutely majestic! I did see the berries indeed, and correct me if I'm wrong but they're normally a heterozygous type? Did you artificially introduce the same allele copy to make it able to cross-pollinate? I confess plants aren't my typical area of genework to deal with but there's certainly some overlap with various elements.
[ Even as she's saying it, she's shooting Petyr an apologetic - yet appreciative - look. It's so rare that she gets to discuss her genessi background with anyone that she's leaping at the chance, even though she knows it's going all over his head. ]

Even more impressive is the backyard -- plants, berries...and even the requested corn. His expression softens upon seeing it as he glances toward Hange, though no doubt she and Haen are already wrapped up in their scientific chatter. Haen's apologetic look doesn't go unnoticed, and Baelish makes a gesture with his hand as though to say 'by all means.' The entire point of this meeting was to put them in contact with each other and brainstorm.
Baelish approaches the berries in question, looking them over before asking: ]
Are they bird-edible as well?
[ Perhaps an odd question, but he always had a few mockingbirds follow him wherever he went, so it would be nice if they could have a bit of a snack for their troubles. ]
