[archie, bless him, had made a genuine effort to actually deal with the horde of animals (and blue's impocreats) red had left behind while he was off adventuring in japan. he actually did alright for all of two days, before having to work on top of it all made him realise it was too much. the dogs, at least, he can deal with himself-- he takes them out with mightyena and they eat the same food. they're all asleep upstairs in red and blue's room-- he's left mightyena up with them. the hyena pokémon can watch over them for a few hours so magnus doesn't have to deal with it. all the others, though...

if it was anything else, he might've pushed himself a bit harder, but he won't even entertain the idea of possibly neglecting one or two of them by accident.

magnus was hs first choice, without question. magnus is probably the only other person who isn't from his world that he would trust to look after the animals properly. he could ask sabrina, but... she just got here. he won't put additional stress on her shoulders.

he's pouring some lemonade, with crobat waiting outside for magnus as it usually does when he knows the demi-god is coming over, as he waits. silently wondering how red pays for it all.]

[Magnus arrives at Pokehaus fairly promptly, his worn hobo bag slung over his shoulder as usual (but less typically filled with -- well, Crobat might be able to smell it from a distance). when he sees Crobat, he grins, flapping his arms out in a stupid hello-ritual he's gotten into with the pokemon, like how dog owners prance in time to their dogs' excited steps and waggling tail, or how cat owners mimic plaintive meowing]

[his arms stretch high in dumb, affectionate greeting]

[crobat acts the rough badass it usually does, sniffing at magnus, acting like it's carefully looking him over. it ends the same way it always does, though, with crobat chirping a happy confirmation (non-verbal) and wrapping him up in its big leathery bat wings while giving him a disgusting slobbery lick. it lets go after a moment, hopping away to take off and fly around into the garden. possibly to sleep, possibly to crawl in the bigger back door. uncertain.]

Magnus? [archie calls out, after a delay. definitely after he saw crobat in the back garden.] Ah-- yo.

[he waves from the door.]

Thanks for comin'.

[what a tough cool bat. Magnus laughs through the licking and hugging, rubbing at Crobat's fuzzy tummy, as he usually does, and when Archie waves he has to scrub at his face with his t-shirt before waving back. Crobat... was a slobbery boy]

[Magnus would do, frankly, anything to help out a friend. that helping out a friend this time also includes some chill time at Pokehaus is a bonus]

Most of them are Red's. Uhh... except the one that's Blue's. Which is a tiger, and also in their room. She's good on her own.

[Magnus is pretty, generally, unflappable. it's why people think he has his shit together more than he actually does. it's why he gets asked to watch so many pets. but being informed that there is a tiger in Red and Blue's room, that's just gonna Chill On It's Own, flaps him]

Uh -- uh? [an intelligent response, as his head snaps back up from starting to count cats] Uh, okay. Is this everybody? What're their names?

[archie just... gives magnus a dead-eyed look, nodding tiredly. he gets it. he gets it...]

She's an imPocreat, apparently? I don't know. I stopped asking questions about the third cat. [he's so tired] There are some dogs, but Mightyena's got 'em corralled upstairs. Last I checked they were all conked out after the walk I gave them earlier. I put up a baby gate, food and water as well, so if they wake up they won't come down. [he rubs his chin.] I mean, if they do I'll make sure none of 'em get near you. Mightyena's the biggest one-- Red seems to favor the smaller goblin dogs. Ones like Rooty?

[he huffs.]

Anyway, we gotta feed all the cats and birds, make sure no fights break out, change and clean some of the bowls and beds then feed Sharpedo, Crobat and Alberta.

Okay. That sounds easy enough.

[it's a lot, but between the two of them, they can handle it. Magnus squats to start petting a cat nudging against his shin (he's not sure, but has a feeling there's some Vanir thing that impels cats to be a little nicer to him than say, rude-ass birds and dogs). pet pet, stroking some cute kitty ears back]

When are they getting back, anyway?

Aye, nothing complicated.

[archie busies himself with getting a couple of tins of cat food and the can opener out while magnus delivers those good good pats.]

A week, maybe? I won't need help every day. Maybe just on my long days or every three days?
