[ SEMI-OPEN ]
WHO: Those who have been invited & anyone who would have a reason to visit Maurtia Falls #010! Wondering if you fit into that category? Just contact anyone with an involved character (Andy; Rex; Martin; Cassandra Igarashi; Dio; Archie) and ask!
WHERE: Maurtia Falls #010
WHEN: TONIGHT? TONIGHT.
WHAT: The soldierfam has decided that regular group dinners are good for Martin, and this time they've got a few party crashers!
WARNINGS: None anticipated; will change if necessary!
At a glance, one could easily mistake Maurtia Falls #010 for being entirely uninhabited. Dio rarely returns home and Rex and Marty only have a handful of belongings between the two of them and Rex is meticulously tidy, returning everything to exactly where it ought to be - if anything, it's Andy who makes the biggest mess around the place, and she doesn't even live here.
Despite every sign to the contrary, however, they do live here, and it winds up being a hub of activity whenever one of Martin's guardians - if that's truly what they can call themselves - decides that it's about time to get everyone together for dinner. In Anderson's absence, Rex has taken on the opinion that cooking can't be that hard, which is how they wind up with one window open, a casserole dish burned black soaking in the sink and an assortment of take-out on the table.
(As it turns out, it is that hard - and he found a combination pizza & Chinese food take-out place, whiich means that it can only be better.)
In all, there's not much to do or see here; there's food, Rex the goldfish in his tank, a soccer ball neatly tucked close to the house in the backyard, and a mysterious shelf called "Martin's Things" in the cupboard. Otherwise, you're stuck with nothing more than some potential awkward conversation. Have fun, kids!

"Y-Yeah, that's ... kinda what Gods are for. It's not really 'doing work for humans' as it is... kinda a mutual thing. Humans believe in us, and we pay them back by giving them what we can."

"Believe in...what? Just...that you're you? I don't understand. Sorry."

"There's an ancient idea, dating back to when humans first started being... humans. In order to explain the things they didn't understand, they came up with the idea of Gods. Their belief in these powers belonging to other beings kind of became a thing.
"As time passed and humans developed, the idea of Gods became more developed, more wide spread. The Pantheon- big group of Gods- that the original Dionysus was from originated in the country Greece. He was known as the God of wine and letting loose, basically. So obviously, not the original guy there. But on my Earth, every ninety years, the Gods are 'brought back' to Earth, with a human body, but still able to use those miracles.
"And that's where I am. I'm one of those Gods."

As he goes on, though, it gets harder to understand. Brought back? Where did they go? And he's...?
"So..." He frowns, struggling to understand. "So you're...both? Human...and, and that? How?"

He supposes that it ultimately doesn't matter if he understands or not -- it doesn't change anything, after all. And Rex did say this world was full of all sorts of things, human and nonhuman alike...all people. That part's still hard to reconcile, but he has to out of sheer necessity. It's just fortunate enough that Dio looks...human enough to not make it as hard an issue right now.
Still, he can't help but wonder...
"Is it good, though?" He looks back over. "I mean...being both...is that good?"

Dio laughs in a taken aback sort of way, because what a complicated question...
"...I don't know. I like being able to help people. I like feeling like I have a purpose. I didn't have that before. But being a God... there's more downsides than it seems. It's not like what a lot of people seem to think it's like. I guess overall, I'm not unhappy with it."
no subject
"I...I guess that's fair," he concedes. "I mean...I don't really get it, but...if it doesn't bother you, then that's fine..."

But sometimes he needs to reaffirm to himself, that he's okay. That he's doing the right things, and for the right reasons.
"And isn't that what everyone wants to do? Do more? Be more?"

Whoops, now they're both unsure!!
