It's been relatively quiet for the past month. No crazy adventures, no weird stuff happening to him. Just more practice with Lucien, playing with Nirnroot, and meeting new imPorts. One day he'll be able to feel it when Lucien picks his pocket.

Today's a nice day, so of course Finn heads for the park with his sketchbook. He finds a nice spot under a tree and just starts doodling. Mostly he's drawing random things from back home, and a few things he's seen since he got to this world. Like an elephant next to a mammoth.

[Red's past month has perhaps been a little more exciting - a stint in jail will do that (wouldn't you think that the guy in the murder cult would be the one going to jail in this relationship?) - but things have certainly calmed down now. He's rather familiar with this particular park, actually - he comes here quite often to train his Pokémon, and that's what he's doing right now. He doesn't even notice Finn sitting on the bench as he swoops down on Charizard to pass it, the mighty dragon letting out a stream of fire as he passes - but don't worry. They're over the lake, so Finn won't get singed.]

[Finn looks up from his sketch when he feels something fly overhead, seeing an orange dragon that's become familiar by now. Charizard doesn't even need to speak the dragon language to breathe fire.

Looking around, he spots the Pokemon's trainer, picking up his things and walking over to the other man.]

I can do that too. Breathe fire.

[versusseeker]

[Red and Charizard have both landed by the time Finn walks over. The dragon greets him with another breath of fire, this one fired into the air above him, again keeping his friend un-singed. Red takes the brim of his hat in his hands and nods in greeting, then tilts his head to the side, curious, as if to say, "Really?"]

Hello to you too, Charizard.

[Finn tilts his head up and Shouts into the air.]

Yol toor shul!

[A burst of fire shoots out into the air, away from either Red or Charizard's head. He grins at the two.]

[versusseeker]

[Red's eyes do go a little wide at the fire, though there are fire-breathers back home and it isn't really the first time he's seen such a thing - still, what they do doesn't quite look like what Finn just did. He gives him a thumbs up for good measure while Charizard lets out a friendly roar in greeting. The dragon nudges him a bit with his head, then - get over here and scratch my belly.]

I can breathe ice too.

[Finn pets Charizard's head a little when the dragon nuzzles him, before granting his wish and scratching his belly.]

[versusseeker]

[A good man.

[Red looks at Finn intently, not exactly asking for a demonstration outright, but definitely expecting one.]

[Finn continues to stroke Charizard's belly as he waits for his power to return. Finn has sometimes wondered if the cooldown time for Shouts will ever lower the older ad more experienced he gets at it.

Turning his head upward and away, so as not to hit either Red or his Pokemon, Finn gives another little demonstration.]

Fo!

[A burst of frost goes forth, spraying the three of them in a faint, frosty mist that the Shout leaves behind.]

[versusseeker]

[Charizard shakes himself off, giving a low, slightly irritated grumble at the sudden frosty air. He lets out another burst of flame just to heat it up again. Red, who had been shivering just a bit, silently appreciates this. Then he gives Finn a thumbs up - very cool, almost like a Pokémon.]

Yeah. I'm Dragonborn, so I can use magic by speaking the dragon language. I can do all kinds of things with it.

[Finn scratches the back of Charizard's head.]

[versusseeker]

[Dragonborn - they've probably talked about this before, haven't they? Red remembers him saying that he can speak the language of dragons. In a way, he can too now that he can speak to Pokémon, but he's not sure that's what Finn means.

[Can you speak the dragon language, Charizard?

[The mighty beasts cocks a brow and shrugs, then lets out a loud roar in Finn's direction to see if he can understand.]

[Finn's eyes go wide as Charizard roars at him, a little startled but not afraid. Yeah, he didn't get any of that.]

Drem.

['Peace']

[versusseeker]

[Charizard glances from Finn to Red, then shrugs again. "Drem" just sounds like gibberish to him.

[Red looks to Finn in return.] What does it mean?

It means 'peace'. Those words I said to Charizard when you first got in touch with me, drem yol lok, is how dragons greet each other in my world. The phrase translates as 'peace fire sky'.

[versusseeker]

[Oh. Red looks to Charizard, who looks to him, then Finn, and holds up a peace sign. Ditto, my friend.]
