WHO: Thrawn, Lando Calrissian
WHERE: De Chima #7
WHEN: Now?
WHAT: Thrawn is finally moving out of government housing. Lando has a moving company.
WARNINGS: None anticipated
[ Thrawn had said once before that he was not suited to civilian life but it was more apparent right now than it had ever been.
There was little enough to move as there was little at #7 to begin with. Less when the lack of furniture was taken into account save the bed. With the bedroom restored back to the state it was in when Thrawn first found it, there was no trace left that he had ever been here at all.
At the moment Thrawn stared out the window of that room with his hands clasped behind his back. ]

As his employees finish loading Thrawn's meager belongings into the truck, Lando joins Thrawn in the bedroom, clipboard in hand. How he missed the datapads of back home in moments like this. He flips through the papers he has clipped there, clearing his throat to announce his presence. ]
Excuse me, Grand Admiral. If I may bother you for a minute... I need one last signature on these forms.

There is no need for ranks or titles here. All of us are imPorts.
[ Not to mention there's no Empire or Rebellion. ]

Alright, if you say so. I won't insist you call me "General" then. [ Said with a smile, even though Thrawn doesn't strike Lando as the joking type. ]
I've gotta say, that's a refreshing attitude to hear, coming from you.

I simply see no benefit from using ranks or titles that are rendered obsolete by distance
[ Thrawn kept the same emotionless mask on his features. ]
I realize this is an opinion others do not share, however.

No, no, I agree with you. Our battles are a long way away, and it's better for everyone involved if they stay that way.

And yet you address me by a rank that is similarly rendered obsolete. I believe you care about that galaxy more than you would have others think.

Or maybe I just find it best, when dealing with someone you only know by reputation, to go for the formal rather than casual.
no subject
Is formality why you came to speak to me in person?
no subject
Partly, maybe. I've found that business is better served when it has that person-to-person touch, don't you think?
