I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight [Open]
WHO: Link and you!
WHERE: All over
WHEN: The month of March
WHAT: Tiny hero doing tiny hero things
WARNINGS: if needed, will put in subject lines
Cutting Grass for Fun and Profit: Heropa
Sometimes a kid need to make some money and what better way than that classic stand by of mowing lawns? Not a lot of lawns really needed mowing yet in the northern cities, but some in Heropa sure did and many citizens were more than thrilled to have a pint sized hero come along and do it. That he did it with a sword and just kind of wandered into their yards without asking was largely ignored once they realized what he was doing.
Of course, there was always that one grouch on the block that chased him away for 'tresspassing' and 'destroying a garden' or 'vandalizing a valuable art installation' in front of a museum.
The shouts of the security guards followed the small child as he dashed away, around the corner and straight into someone's legs. An armful of sparkling stones and tiny nuts - sort of walnut-like - scattered across the ground, which the kid was fast to start scooping back up, his actions a bit more frantic as the shouting grew louder.
Stealing Finding Maps: All Cities
The biggest problem Link had in his quest to find the princess the Great Deku Tree asked him to find was that he didn't know where anything was. And thus far he'd found no treasure chests with a proper map containing the lay of the land anywhere around. And no chests with a compass, either. And considering how big the different cities were, there really should be a good dozen or so chests with maps and compasses in them just to cover the various sections within the cities.
His own attempt at creating maps had thus far been failures. He just couldn't get them big enough to cover everything. But just recently he'd discovered that there were maps sitting around in various stores. They were in stores, so he figured they probably cost money, but no one would take his rupees for some reason. And he really needed the maps. And why would you sell a map anyway? People needed those for quests, selling them was just rude.
Surely... surely no one would miss just one? And he could leave some rupees...
Glancing around to make sure the shopkeep wasn't watching, Link started discreetly taking a copy of each map on the display and putting them behind his shield. As discreetly as any child shoving things into what was essentially a backpack could, anyway.
Choose your own adventure!
Link can be found around the various cities - often times in places a small child really shouldn't be - generally exploring and sometimes brandishing his sword at people who're being bad and are not sure how to handle a three foot kid brandishing a sword at them. He can also be found getting chased out of pottery shops on a near daily basis for completely destroying their stocks of basic pots or being confused at people yelling at him for cutting down bushes and small trees. He's usually gone by the time all the broken and destroyed items reappear good as new, but occasionally the verbal dressing down holds him there long enough to give his confusion full justification.
If you wanna do something, or want a starter and aren't sure what, PM me and we can figure it out!d

Maps in De Chima
The blue alien covertly watched the child for a while, seeing him pushing things into his backpack. When it seemed that he was almost done and ready to leave, Cad Bane sauntered casually over and murmured within hearing range of Link:
"I don't think that's legal."
The six feet tall alien may be quite the sight. Obviously not human with blue skin and piercing red eyes staring out from under a wide-brimmed cowboy hat.
Re: Maps in De Chima
He reached into the space behind his shield and pulled out a red stone. It was a rupee worth twenty green rupees, so that should totally be enough. He held it up so Cad could see, mild annoyance on his face trying to covey the sentiment 'Was gonna pay for it. See?'
no subject
As he spoke, he pulled out a roll of cash, pulling off a few bills. "I give you these, you give me the stone. Fair exchange? Then you can pay for the things with something the shopkeeper will actually take."

He waited while Link showed the clerk whatever he was trying to buy.
no subject
And yet, somehow, Link had room for them all. Probably a power at work.
Once all the papers were out, Link stood on his tippy-toes to look over the counter while the worker rung all the maps up. He gave a total and then pointed at Link, "And I'm not taking the stone. You want this, you pay with real money."
Link turned to look at Cad and held out the rupee. Cad pays, he gets the stone.
no subject
"Pleasure doing business with you," he tipped his hat at the store clerk and would take the stone from Link if he let him.
"Now, you and I should have a little chat. Outside," he suggested.
Of course he'd noticed the discrepancy between space and items.
no subject
Once outside, Link put his hands behind his head and waited expectantly. He was all ears, now!
no subject
He rolled the stone over in his hand, examining it again. "So what exactly is this? Where'd you find it?"
no subject
So instead he just stared up at Cad for a moment. And then he shrugged.
In the next moment he was reaching behind him again and pulling out a bag with a similarly shaped gem patch stitched into the side. His wallet didn't hold a lot, but he had more rupees if Cad wanted to trade them.
no subject
"You got more of them? Show me."
He paused. "Can you understand me? Nod or shake your head."
no subject

He pulled a handful of bills out for Link to take if he wanted to make an exchange.
"You got a name? What do I call you?"
Wildcard prompt!
His eyebrows rose when he reached the pottery store, seeing the owner brandishing a broom at a boy in green. He looked angry. Very angry.
Taking another sip of lemonade, Finn approached the store owner, who turned to him, prepared to yell at him, clearly in a bad mood. Finn put a hand on the boy's shoulder so he wouldn't be affected.
"Faas Ru Maar!"
A wave of red magic hit the store owner the second the last word left Finn's mouth, and he ran away, back into his store. Finn looked down at the boy, walking him away from the store.
"Come on, that doesn't last very long."
Re: Wildcard prompt!
Link hesitated a moment when the guy started walking away, but ultimately followed after. The guy sounded like he was trying to help him. So he jogged to catch up and walk as best he could at the man's pace. He looked up at him, curious. The guy was, well, he wasn't like the round-eared people that most of the people of the city were. Very different, including the pointed ears similar to Link's own. That was kind of neat.
After a couple more moments of silence and the guy sipping at his drink, Link grinned at him and gave him a thumbs up in thanks. He really didn't need it, but it was still nice of him all the same.

He sipped the last few drops of lemonade before tossing the cup into a nearby recycling bin. Afterwards, Finn leaned down so he was less imposing.
"You wanna tell me what that was about?" Realizing what he said, he added, "Or let me know with pantomime or hand gestures? Or draw me a picture?"
no subject
Link frowned and then waved for Finn to follow him, heading for what looked like a park a little ways off. It wasn't overgrown - for some reason most of the grass was cut regularly in the city - but it had some trees and bushes and...
Ah ha! A large rock!
Once spotted, Link hurried over to it and picked it up. He made sure Finn was close by and watching before he hurled it very hard at the ground. It broke apart into a few smaller pieces and luckily out of it popped a tiny heart - the cartoony valentinesish sort - that floated slowly toward the ground. Link pointed to it with a grin.
no subject
Since when did rocks contain hearts?
It also wasn't hard to put two and two together, since Link had been in a pottery shop and he broke the rock. "You were breaking pots? Because you thought they had hearts in them?"
no subject
no subject
"Well, maybe stay away from that pottery place for a while. People tend to get mad when you break their wares." Noticing the weapon strapped to the kid's back, he asked, "You know how to use that thing?"
no subject
The sour face he was starting to make went away at the question, though and he smiled and nodded. Just the once. He wouldn't have it if he didn't know how to use it.
After a second of thought, he unsheathed it, leaving the shield where it was for now, and swung it in front of him a couple times. It was definitely sharp!
no subject
"Not bad. Mind if I try it out? I'll give it right back."
no subject
Behind him, the large rock he'd broken just sort of... grew back. Like someone blowing up a balloon in it's shape. Exactly where Link had picked it up from.
no subject
Standing back, Finn twirled the sword in his hand, like it were a baton, testing the weight. It was obviously shorter than a sword meant for an adult, which suited Finn, since he usually fought with daggers. He liked short blades.
He then swung the sword in an uppercut, spun around with the sword aimed high, and finished his routine off with a forward thrust.
"Pretty nice sword you got here," Finn held the blade back out, handle-first.
no subject
He took it back and hopped back a couple feet before attempting to twirl it in his hand the same way Finn had. It took a try or two but he seemed to get the hang of it quickly. Then he followed through with the same upper cut, spin, and forward thrust.
If nothing else, the kid was a fast learner.
no subject
This kid would go places when he was older.
"Personally, I prefer daggers, but that is a nice little sword."
Fun AND Profit? Oh boy! In Heropa
He glared at him, brushing the non-existent dirt off his still pristine shirt. "Where precisely do you think you're going in such a hurry that you can not watch where you are going?" The gaudily large jewels and nuts are being ignored for the moment, and he hasn't quite connected the distant shouting (someone was always shouting about something around here it seemed) with the child trying to pick up the items that have been scattered on the pavement.
wildcard, pier
"--Well, you should mark the underside of the wood!" he complains, pulling at the debris stuck in his shoulder. "It's hardly my fault you people don't clean up!"
no subject
It's rematch time!
no subject
"Er... hi?"
Does Link think that sword'll do anything?
Don't steal maps Link
So watching some kid stealing maps at a random stop is really strange to him because it makes no sense why he'd want to do that. He doesn't approach at first, just watching this slightly bizarre situation happening (of all the things to steal, why a map? ) but eventually he just approaches and taps his shoulder. Steve isn't loud, since he doesn't want to call attention to the kid, so at least there is that.
"What are you doing, kid?"
