; LUCINA
Now on his break, Kaneki sits by the counter while he reads a book and takes a sip of his coffee, smiling at whoever calls his attention, but also keeping an eye on whoever walks into the coffee shop ]

...well. can't hurt to look around, can it? Lucina shakes her head, shifting her hold on Falchion so the sheath doesn't bump any of the other guests on her way toward the counter, looking about curiously.
she blinks.
say...the gentleman behind the counter seems familiar?]
no subject
He pauses for a second and once he realizes she looks completely lost, their eyes finally meet and he waves back at the girl, to silently call her closer ]
Lucina, hello- First time I see you here.
no subject
Greetings. Kaneki, yes? [she's fairly sure, but...well, it's been a long month away.]
no subject
You look a bit lost. [ it's a gentle comment, but it's not a lie - Lucina seems a bit out of her element ]

; HEARTH
When he finds a spot, he sits on a park bench, taking out one of his books - a small one, with short poems - and takes his time to read and enjoy each line. ]

[It's the dancing caveman guy.
[Somehow, this is more awkward than there first meeting. Now he's just staring at you, fist poised over his heart like he's about to start singing the National Anthem or something (he's not).]

.............. ]
I hope this wasn't on purpose... [ as a revenge for the singing caveman, supposedly ]

Accident. My bad. [His lips do twitch a little though, threatening a snicker.]

; JUSTINE
He hums softly an unknown tune as he waters the plants quietly, door to the greenhouse open to whoever wants to peek inside ]
sorry i took forever i'm the worst!!
Justine meets him out there on a lazy weekend, her hair up in a messy bun. ]
Hey. You need any help?
it's alright!
When he hears Justine, Kaneki turns to the girl and nods softly] If you want to water those in the corner, you are welcome to.
How are things, Justine?

; HANGE
Still - he is certain nothing will go wrong. The hoover car is ready, and Kaneki glances back at Hange ]
... So, you are certain you wish to do this. [ just making sure ]
backdated to week 1?
So, she doesn't take her eyes off his car even when he asks the question. Instead she continues to stare at it curiously. She truly will be a student starting at the very most basic of levels.]
Yes, this seems like an important skill to master when it comes to living in this world. It's for the best if I can use all their common machines with some degree of skill.

he pats the car ] So, you didn't have any of these in your world?
no subject
[Her horse, for example, would come when she whistled. A car can't do that. Hange looks at the machine dubiously.]
Why don't we start with you driving?

; ITSUKI
Kaneki is behind the counter, drinking a cup of coffee he made for himself. There aren’t many people around, so he can take his time enjoying the coffee in peace and quiet. If anyone approaches, of course he will put the cup down and be ready to serve them or simply just chat away for whoever would like to have a conversation.
He also keeps an eye out for new imPorts. As usual, it's the beginning of the month and that means new faces will be around soon enough. ]

He had followed an interesting smell to the cafe, that honestly being enough for him to chase his curiosity.
Itsuki presses his fingers against the door, opening it and sticking his head in first, as if he didn't know what he would find in there despite the windows making it quite obvious. There was a strange moment between him opening the door and actually stepping inside in which he just stared at the man behind the counter for a moment, but then he managed to straighten himself up and stroll on over.]
A coffee shop? How interesting! Not what I expected, but alright. I suppose I should order something now, hm? It'd be weird if I didn't.
[As if it were not already weird. And also as if saying something like that didn't just make it weirder.]
no subject
At least Kaneki hardly judges others.
He rises his eyes from his coffee to look back at Itsuki while he takes a slow sip from his drink. It doesn't look like a native, if only because the man looks a bit too lost to be one. Unless, of course, they are new in town, but then kaneki doubts they'd come to his coffee shop, of all the places.
When the man reaches over, Kaneki places his cup away and offers him a big smile ] Hello, welcome to :Re.
no subject
...For the best, really.]
Hello!
Got anything that's the opposite of vegetarian?
[He could probably have coffee, but he'd really rather not. It had plant material in it and that would not agree with him.]
Like, only protein?

; VIAGO
The schedule is probably the weirdest part (open from 7pm to 2am), and also a door at a corner with golden letters saying "private", locked with an electronic lock and only opens when the owner allows it. Newcomers might not know for sure, but those who have been around the shop know by now that's the private area and that's where unusual and exotic foods are provided.
Thanks to the weird time, the coffee shop is usually quiet. Kaneki still gets regular clients who will drop by every day, and he still gets small groups of fangirls who just want to look at their hero for a second. Otherwise, the place isn't very busy and that allows Kaneki to grab a book and take his time reading it behind the counter - which is what he usually does when it's late at night.
With a cup of coffee nearby, Kaneki flips through a book about old japanese poetry, as he waits for someone to come in. ]

While he'd heard plenty of stories about the big cities in America being filled with vampire-operated nightclubs, so far in Nonah Viago had discovered they were just that: stories. And having been an imPort a little over half a month now, Viago was starting to get desperate. It wasn't blood ( although truth be told he was in the stage of two layers of foundation for his ashen skin ) but the company of another vampire that was sorely needed. So he'd picked up all kinds of pamphlets and papers on the local sites and features, using his nights to visit two or three within a moderate flying distance of one another.
Tonight he'd already been told off from one of the promising nightclubs so he figures, to hell with it, and walks the few blocks down the street to the book cafe that the bouncer had spat at him like an insult. Viago was accustomed to being called prissy and mocked for his more antiquated style, so the prospect of having a nice place to read was what he took away more than the offense.
It's disheartening to see that the door is shut, but not a deal breaker, especially when not when he sees the printed hours are nearly from dusk til dawn. He can see a white-haired fellow inside reading a book and, after waiting a few minutes to see if the man might look up ( he doesn't ) reaches to tap his fingernail politely on the glass. Whenever he is give attention, the vampire will perk up and give a silent but enthusiastic, fang-filled 'Hi!'. He also waves- a simple, slightly greying rainbow.
Tonight it's a long black overcoat ( not really his style, but it was 'free' ) and his usual vest-slacks combo. ]

He could at least tell that was an imPort. Not just because of the strange clothes - though that could certainly be a give away - but because he can see those teeth and they surely aren't normal teeth. He has seen fangs like that before, since Kaneki is quite familiar with most vampires that arrive.
Of course the man (yes, Kaneki is a man, though he probably looks too young for that) gestures so Viago comes inside, and eventually he offers him a smile as well. Surely he can come in - that's what coffee shops are for. To come in and enjoy a drink, right? ]
no subject
Not a literal rainbow, just a semi-circle motion with his hand, I'm a failure of a writer.Viago realizes that this is going to get a little more complicated when the shopkeep tries to wave him in rather than coming to the door. Unfortunately the rules for invites just didn't work that way, which was terribly inconvenient but also something Viago had been dealing with for a long while. So not wholly discouraged just yet, Viago makes a beckoning gesture himself, keeping his smile wide. No, you come here! ]
