[a vial of hope and a vial of pain: in the light, they both looked the same]

WHO: Major Lilywhite & Padme Amidala
WHERE: Padme's Office
WHEN: Backdated to end of January
WHAT: Celebratory drinks in honor of Padme's being elected to Ambassador
WARNINGS: None, will update as needed

[When Major had told Padme that he wasn't surprised that she'd been elected as Ambassador, he'd meant it! Even aside from knowing her whole life thanks to having seen the prequels back home, he'd come to know her outside of that limited version and more as a person, as a politician, as a housemate.

He wanted to make sure she knew that he had her back, both politically and personally, and when she suggested swinging by her new fancy office digs to have a drink, he'd been game.

After he finishes up at the gym, he closes up shop for the night and heads over to the address she'd given him. He swings by a liquor store on the way, grabbing two bottles of wine - a red and a white - and then finishes the trek. Once at her office door, he lifts up a fist and lightly raps his knuckles against it. Inching his face near the door, he looks at the bottles of wine as he announces himself.
]

Hey, Padme? It's Major. All right to come in?

[ The door opens in less than a minute, Padme standing aside from it and gesturing him in, a wide smile on her face. ]

Of course it is. It's good to see you, Major. I have -- Chinese take out, at the moment. [ She's been working a lot? But the office does look like she's taken control of it, flowers here and there, a certain comfortable feeling to the setting. ]

And you have wine, so I believe we have all we need.

Thank you for dropping by.

I have some, but frankly I have a fair amount of settling in to do first. And I'm more than happy to take a few hours off tonight and simply relax.

[ She looks around as he does, closing the door behind them. It is a solidly nice place - not huge, but there's a private office for her, a waiting room that's not really cut off from the rest of it, an open space with a couple of desks for employees and a conference room. ]

We're not a large office, but I'm hopeful we'll be able to continue to accomplish a great deal.

What have you been doing, lately?
