(closed) all that i've known to be at peace
WHO: padme & obi-wan
WHERE: somewhere Fancy
WHEN: backdated to sometime after kylo's return
WHAT: A long delayed lunch.
WARNINGS: Star Wars.
[ She's been meaning to have this conversation with Obi-Wan for a long time regardless, but the longer things go on the more she knows it needs to happen. They've had the group conversation, the catharsis, if that is what it can be called.
But there are other things she needs to speak to him about, and some of them can only be done in person and between only the two of them.
So she sets up reservations at a Chinese restaurant that's not quite exclusive but does have private rooms, which will allow them to speak without reservation and texts him the information. She hasn't exactly dressed low key when she arrives to confirm the reservation and make sure things are in order, but she chose not to wear anything from their home world on purpose. When he arrives she's not there immediately to greet him, but they know which room to bring him to immediately and she's there, happy to see him as she rises to greet him. ]
I'm glad you could meet me, Obi-Wan. It's always so good to see you.

So what arrives is a Jedi with very poor fashion sense.
He seems rather oblivious to this fact at least as he arrives. A smile on his face when she greets him.]
The feeling is of course mutual, Padme. I'm always happy to see you.
[He will then sit as she does, being polite as always.]
So tell me, what's on your mind?
[He knew this was more than just a social call.]

You know, we could exchange pleasantries for a little while and simply enjoy each other's company. [ A little teasing, almost exasperated that he knows that she has more in mind.
Of course he does. It's Obi. ]
Leia is on my mind, at the moment.
But we should at least order our food first.

I suppose you’re right. Though I must admit I’m not very familiar with this style of food. Have any recommendations?
[Chinese food was something he had heard of but not actually tried yet.]

She'll let the illusion of that live for the few minutes it will take to order their food, at least. ]
I've had it a few times, now, though I still haven't had more than a few things they offer. You might like the Lo Mein? You can choose which meat you have with it. And -- Obi-Wan, have you tried spring rolls? They're wonderful. We'll have to have at least an order of those.

I can't say that I have. Though if they're as good as you say, then I must.
[Managing to spot Lo Mein in the menu and seeing a description, he certainly has no issue with giving that a try either.]
Their meats in this world are a bit strange. Did you know that both their white milk and beef comes from an animal they call a cow?
