UNDER PRESSURE THAT BRINGS A BUILDING DOWN
WHO: ImPorts that signed up HERE. If you didn't sign up in time and still want to participate, as long as you can assemble a team, you can hop on in!
WHERE: Incheon, South Korea.
WHEN: February 20-23.
WHAT: ImPorts are sent on a top-secret mission to investigate two factories in Incheon - and, predictably, things go a bit sideways from there.
WARNINGS: Probable violence and swearing; please let us know if this should be updated. If you'd like to plot with your fellow players about how to approach this, please feel free to use THIS THREAD to plot things out. We recommend that connected teams split up to take on two separate factories, but we leave divying things up up to you!
Welcome, imPorts, to Incheon, South Korea. If they were here for any other reason beyond their current mission, they'd see nothing more than a beautiful, populous city, ready for any tourists who wish to go sightseeing, to go take a look at the city’s culture and art - and no small amount of excellent food.
That’s not why they’re here, though. Once the ImPorts step off of the commercial airlines they were all sent through (packed with government officials to mask the presence of imPort travelers; they will have found that this exceedingly long trip was a good opportunity to converse with their fellow imPorts and get to know them), they take one step into the winter’s cold air before being immediately whisked off to an American-owned hotel and ushered into the basement, where they will find a surprisingly lavish, airy conference room.
There, the ImPorts will be thanked for their service and briefed on the mission at hand: they will be investigating two separate factories in two separate sides of town. The first factory belongs to an American-owned company by the name of RexTech Scientific, in charge of producing database hardware, while the second belongs to a French-owned company by the name of Perreault, in charge of producing high-end men's fashion. After collaboration between the Korean and American government, it’s been found that both factories are hiding more sinister secrets within their halls - and, perhaps, dangerous secrets that require an imPort’s touch for investigation. ImPorts are informed that while they would certainly prefer casualties be kept to a minimum - particularly in the case of innocent civilians - if they have no choice but to take down their enemies with lethal force, they are approved to do so.
UNDERCOVER
From the 21st-22nd, willing imPorts will be sent into the factories, working undercover as employees. More recognizable imPorts will have disguises at their disposal should they wish to use them, but are just as encouraged to stay behind and allow others to take on the brunt of the investigative process. While the undercover agents work, imPorts are encouraged to communicate with one another via their mental link to the network, but anyone left behind is free to roam the city as they will - provided they keep a low-profile, of course. It wouldn’t do to be found out before the raid even begins!
ImPorts assigned to RexTech Scientific will find themselves confronted with the sad reality of 10-hour work days, spent mostly hunched over their work, and will be severely reprimanded should they stray from their work. Their co-workers will be sympathetic and may try to help them keep up with the rest of the employees, but will inevitably look out for their own hides - if you work here, that means you really need the money. They will have two breaks with which to investigate on their own time, 15 and 45 minutes respectively, but it’s their choice what they choose to do. They're meant to spend their time investigating, but imPorts may succumb to the need to do simple things like eat and rest their feet. They may also choose to look further into what must be illegal working conditions or, of course, go poking around.
Should they go poking around, they will find two people of interest: Jeong-Ho Moon and the American expatriate Roland Samson, both introduced to them as managers of this fine establishment and both decidedly wretched people to work underneath.
If they are able to hold up well enough to go exploring around on a break, they may see one of said managers disappear into what seems to be an infrequently used back room. Upon investigation, behind a row of metal shelves filled to the brim with cardboard boxes is a hidden elevator! However, imPorts have already been warned to not explore too much on their own, because stumbling upon any secrets too soon will almost certainly trigger a much earlier raid than the team is prepared for.
ImPorts assigned to Perreault won’t find themselves in much better shape; it seems that no matter what factory they work at, they are confronted with long, hard hours spent in front of the hum of impersonal machines and fellow workers that are more keen on keeping their job than they are on helping any interlopers attempt to ingratiate themselves to the managers on staff. Here, however, there’s a little more freedom to move: as the sewing machines break down, staff run out of the buttons they have to endlessly sew onto the little slip jackets that they’re producing, it’s easier to pass by without notice.
They may notice a group of young women who seem to be in higher spirits than the rest of the workers and while they seem to be producing far fewer slips than the rest of the workers, they’re facing absolutely no consequences for this. If an ImPort ingratiates themselves with their co-workers, one may lean over and confess: “You see their ringleader? She’s the daughter of the owner. She takes breaks that are twice as long as whatever the rest of us get. She just sits around and watches us.”
And, they will find, that is exactly what she does - though she’s watching a little too closely, don’t you think? If an ImPort even get close to the elevators leading to the top brass’ office, she’ll be on their ass, calling out their name sweetly and telling them to get back to work, even if they never told her their name in the first place. Whatever’s happening in this factory, it’s clear that she’s got something to do with it, and it’s waiting for they're on the top level.
One thing is for certain in both workplaces: whatever the behind-the-scenes situation may be, the ground floors are filled with overworked, underpaid, and clueless civilians. It's certainly something to take into account when you go looking for trouble.
THE RAID
REXTECH SCIENTIFIC
Those who put in the time getting to know the habits of their coworkers and the scheduled times people seem to vanish and reappear near the hidden elevator will have an easier time slipping down undetected. The security cameras, while not overly obvious, are in common sense positions for anyone with a background in security work and are far from unhackable- though they are closely watched. Anything more than a little static will call down some extra security patrols. The elevator itself is bioscan and voice-code password protected - again, easy enough to get around if you’re clever and use all of the tools at your disposal, including the possible coercion of individuals with clearance. That all, of course, is the quiet way in. You can also just opt to blow a hole in the elevator shaft or any point in the floor of the main factory or simply barge your way in with the subtlety of... well, your run-of-the-mill imPort. If there is a member of your party small enough, you may also create a distraction and slip them through a vent for some good old-fashioned spying, but that's a risky move: everyone knows that the first rule of any altercation is not to split up the party! If only the covert approach is used, you’ll have up to fifteen minutes of being able to slip around downstairs before being noticed. But even one person tripping the security measures is going to lead to a full scale response, so remain wary!

For a company that produces some high tech goods, the secret facility is, to put it lightly, a bit of a design let down. The place is clearly the barebones remains of an old, albeit extensive, fallout shelter that Rextech has just shoved the required equipment into without much thought for things like ‘aesthetics’ or ‘ventilation’ or ‘worker safety'.
For what it lacks in interior decorating, it makes up for in security. No matter how careful you are, eventually an alarm is going to get triggered (though those involved who managed to sneak around will be able to get more information out of the whole affair!). This underground facility is equipped with aggressive robotic soldiers and highly trained security guards eager for a break from their monotonous lives, both of which are here to shoot first and ask questions later. The stealthy approach means these security measures will enter in at a trickle, here to investigate unusual activity, only fully coming online when they're met with resistance. Starting out with a full attack will ensure that the full power of the security measures are ready to go from the start. There still are only so many of them, however, so if the heavies want to protect the hackers a good bit of information can still be gained. The robotic soldiers are not at all built to look humanoid; their bulletproof metallic shells look as though they're fresh out of the factory, and hide heavy artillery, and they move on six distinct limbs in order to accommodate for any pesky imPorts seeking to cut off their mobility.
It all seems as though they've been prepared for anything, but it becomes readily apparent that while all these security measures are in place, Rextech never actually expected a full raid - and that while they may be churning out some excellent technology, they care very little about their warehouse. About halfway through the fight, a rumble shakes the foundation and and the factory will begin to collapse, starting the legitimate business on the ground floor. ImPorts will have to choose between continuing to PURSUE DATA or SAVING THE WORKERS, some of which the imPorts have already made a personal connection with. ImPorts may also work towards trying to take some of the upper management into captivity to hand over to the government for further interrogation or, if they're truly altruistic, save the scrambling security guards trying to save their own hides.
PERREAULT

Unlike Rextech, Perreault built up. All of the data and prototypes are hidden in the UPPER LEVELS of the facility. All of the walls- interior and exterior- are covered with tinted, bullet-proof, sensor laden glass making it both difficult to sneak around in and to break into, though it does make it easier to keep track of everything happening around you.
The elevator itself is not terribly difficult to access. It’s the fact there are security drones waiting directly on the other side of the doors that make it tricky in addition to that pesky young woman who's keeping an eagle eye on the door - she'll need to either be carefully disposed of or distracted in order to gain entry. Once the human element is distracted, imPorts will find the drones easier to deal with, as they're accustomed to the odd straggling worker wandering around the facility. They will demand to see identification before forcefully ‘encouraging’ you back into the elevator to return to your shift. Quick hacking or some robotic sweet talk will let you get past this first obstacle without setting off an alarm, while just shooting the drones out of the air will both get you in and trigger a full security alarm. For the crafty among you, however, it isn’t that easy. These drones are part of a learning network, and techniques used to non-violently take out drones in one room will not work in the next. And once you’re out of tricks, the fire fight will begin. Or you can just take your limited data and go home. Whatever works for you.
The upper level contains what may feel like a near endless supply of these security drones, and these floating bots back quite a punch. They have both lasers and tasers at their disposal, and won’t hesitate to fly into the nearest hostile and self-destruct when severely damaged. While the walls themselves may be bulletproof, there's still only so much a material can take. After a few direct hits the walls and floors will lose their durability and shots will begin raining down on the factory below. The drones may even lock on to some of the worker lifeforms and assume they are also hostiles, and dive down to begin firing indiscriminately at the workers caught below.
Notably, the daughter of the company’s owner will disappear quickly once and hostilities start. But either before the firefight starts or, for the sneakier hackers, while the heavy hitters distract the drones, computers can be hacked and biological samples stolen from some of the lab spaces.
Get going, imPorts! You've got a job to do!

[ Magnus looks deeply ridiculous. These plane seats weren't built for him through any stretch of the imagination; if you have the bad luck of being seated by him, you're going to have to deal with his elbows getting all up in your business, his knees pressing against the seat in front of him and overall taking up way too much room. ] Uh... do they not have any bigger seats? [Hange is an experienced soldier, and usually she'd be using downtime before a mission to rest up and prepare. This is special, though, because it's her first plane ride ever! She barged her way into a window seat because of course she wanted to watch take-off, and landing, and everything in between. She comments on everything ("Those houses! They look like toys from here!") even the parts that aren't very interesting to experienced flyers ("How fast are we going? Look, we're so close to the sun! We're over the clouds! We're flying over water - doesn't that seem dangerous?") and falls into breathless, overjoyed silence only once Incheon is in view.
It's such a... large city. It's beautiful.]

Kaneki || OTA even to other teams
[ kaneki has never been to South Korea, naturally, but he has accepted most of the time when he leaves the country it's never on vacation - thus he doesn't expect having any free time to look around, either. But he is sure he'll be too busy to do some tourism anyway, thanks to the missions they'll be sent to.
IN a way, he appreciates it. Things haven't been exactly easy this month, after everything that happened with Dooku and finding out his mentor is actually a huge asshole who never cared about him. At least he will keep his mind off that for the next couple of days, he is certain.
Kaneki looks outside the plane thoughtfully, before he reaches for his pocket and takes out a small notebook to write things down. It's written in Japanese, so most natives won't be able to read it, but those who have the auto-translator (imPorts) are able to red what he is writing down: names. Specifically names of imPorts that are coming along - you might even find yours! ]

[ The hotel is appreciated if only to stretch his legs. So after the basement meeting to debrief them, Kaneki decides to take a stroll to look around, maybe find familiar faces, which is the point. He can be found around the corridors, the lounge area, dinning room, and even the roof, looking for others. The hotel is american, so he is careful to look around just in case there is a camera somewhere, but if there isn't and he sees an imPort, Kaneki will approach with a smile ]

Even with all of that, the small sensory net disguise he could use to change the color of his skin would only last for a few minutes. So he intended to use it very (very) sparingly. Dolorous Edd
[ It's the bird's damn fault. As usual.
Mostly because it's correctly predicted a snippet of conversation. Of someone asking him for help, and Edd accepting. Why, of course, fails to be apparent until the moment arrived and he was looking down at his phone, looking at how he is still blocked by Riptide. Honestly, he have no idea what was the metal giant's problem, and Edd's normally doesn't have his feelings hurt since there's no point - but then again, no one back home can claim what Edd is experiencing now, so it felt like a denial of access to what how insane this world - this reality - turns out to be.
So here he is, on the plane. Taking an alcoholic drink, of course. Edd hates flying. But not his bird. No, the raven is making itself merry, by flittering around to every occupied seat, begging for corn or shitting on them or both. ]
Hotel
[ The fanciest Edd has ever been into was the Lord Commander's quarters. It was a nice room. It was round and warm and food was taken up there before the rest of the men eat. This hotel, however, is lot more luxurious than the Lord Commander's, but it isn't the same thing as being particularly nice. It was alight with all the automatic lights, which in honestly hurts Edd's eyes. ]
The last time I seen a place this bright, it was during my poor mother's departure and vigil. The candles then caught fire on the bedding and the room became too bright and warm.
[ Edd pls ]
Conference Room
[ Edd is currently making his way to the peanuts and water, slumped back in the comfortable leather and swingy seats. He's a man for food, after all. But don't make his intensity on food mistaken not caring - he pays attention. He just notes in it in the way not everyone will appreciate. Every once in a while he throws a nut at the raven who gobbles it up no matter where it is. ]

(1b) reading and taking notes. It's not a music book or high school homework, but instead seems to be a series of logic puzzles. He may be stumped on a few and so he'll quietly ask for some help. Can you sudoku?
(1c) on the rare occasion he is talking, there's one question he idly asks; 'what music do you like?' For those who do actually know what he does they might think it's a test, but it's a very earnest question. ]
2) hotel
[ Like before, Hajime's not his usual serenely smiling self; but he actually isn't shying away from the task at hand or hiding against the walls and people's shadows. Instead, when he notices a straggler, ]
Ah, over here...! [ He gestures for them to come over, his voice firm. ] You'll get lost if you explore too far...

Daisy Johnson | OTA and Closed
[With everything else that’s gone down this month for Daisy, this might be the last place people would expect to find her if they only knew the half of it. Like the information she got during a raid at a facility in De Chima. In all honesty, she was here only for her own curiosity. If she could help save innocent people then that was just an added bonus.
Daisy does try to put herself out there a little bit, to get to know the others who came on this mission as well. Some of them were even her teammates. Daisy can be seen later in the day with her laptop out drinking coffee and listening to music while doing some research of her own. At one point she goes to the gym to try and take her mind off of things and hopefully tire herself out enough to go to sleep before the mission starts in the morning.]
CLOSED
[Once the teams have been assigned, Daisy figures it was as good a time as any to try and work out what their plan was. She knows Jon, but their other teammate, Maxwell is not someone she’s met before. It seems like others had the same idea, but working out strategies with their teams after getting information from those over seeing the missions.]
Figured coffee couldn’t hurt.
[Daisy is juggling three cups in her hands, and sets them down on the small table that surrounds some of the comfy chairs they were sitting in.]
Not sure about you guys, but the jet lag is real. I’m Daisy by the way.
[Daisy reaches out her hand to Maxwell once she’s settled.]
But you probably knew that already since we had roll call in that conference.

His hair, lacking any product, is soft and falls in his face a lot. He has a much younger, more boyish look to him than he usually does, in his capacity as a factory worker. He doesn't complain about the conditions. He keeps his head down, and he spends his breaks alone, for the most part.
And he waits, and watches, and listens.
His opportunity comes on day 2 of the op, and he uses his 45 minute break to snoop around. He makes mental note of the locations of all the security cameras, and follows one of the managers into a back room. ]
Camera on your four.
[ He murmurs this to his companion as he pokes around in the shelving. ]

Kaneki keeps his head down during his time at the factory, he is quiet most of the time and keeps to himself, but his soft demeanor pays off in kind, by having some workers become friendly with him enough to tell him few things about the place. often they complain about how Roland Samson, the manager, seems to disappear for far too long while they have to work so hard.
During one of his breaks, since Kaneki doesn't need to eat, he decides to take a stroll through the factory, pretending to stretch his legs while he glances around while trying not to be too suspicious.
That's when he uses his mental network to reach for whoever is near ]
Roland Samson, the manager. He seems to be rather busy when we aren't looking. Has anyone found anything about the other manager, Jeong-Ho Moon?

She doesn't let the long days get to her even as she keeps her head down, though. She takes the time to get to know her coworkers and speak with them, gathering information that way and taking advantage of that fact that she's a natural social butterfly. During the few times she meets up with her fellow imPorts though, she keeps her voice soft and an eye on the cameras. She never speaks with them until she can be sure she's in a blindspot, and if she isn't, she'll try to lead them over to one in the most natural way possible. That's what she's doing now, with how she's tapping the nearest imPort on the shoulder.]
Hey, can you help me get that box over there?
[It feels like the most natural way, of course. She could handle anything here on her own easily, but. Well. Undercover.]

Or maybe not. He's a craftsman, and a factory like this is completely foreign to him, and not in a good way. It's only after he's poked himself with the needle for what feels like the fifteenth time and breathes in the stale, recycled air, takes in the stooped shoulders of everyone around him and his own need for a break that he tosses his needle down in disgust. ]
So this fucking sucks.

[ Coercion still is one of the best ways to get what you want. They could certainly take their time hacking the bioscans to enter the elevator, but Kaneki feels there is no time for that, so his tactic was to grab one of the managers and threaten his life. After even pulling out his kagune and look like some sort of eldritch horror abomination, kaneki managed to scare the man enough when his eye suddenly turns black right in front of the guy - he accepts making way and lets all of them inside the elevator to the underground facility.
Before they get there, though, Kaneki suddenly smacks him with a red tendril hard enough that the man passes out. That was the point, sure. ] One less thing to worry about.
Gathering information
[ Kaneki has been learning how to hack for half year now, but when you have MK and Darlene teaching you, that's plenty and that makes you pretty darn good in such a short time. Of course he has Arthur and MK to help when he can't get too far on this, but kaneki is managing on his own for now.
From time to time he looks around at Edd and his crow, and then back at the defense team. Kaneki is the kind of person to want to do everything himself and on his own, so the fact that someone is fighting and he isn't involved does leave him a bit wary, but still, he focus. And eventually he turns to the closets person ] There must be physical files too-
[ he finishes what he is doing on the computer, before getting up ] we should record those, with the mental link to the network.
All comes tumbling down
[ when the building starts falling apart, gathering information stops being Kaneki's priority. MK and Arthur are still hacking and Edd is still with his crow, but Kaneki is too restless to continue. Once again, he brings out his kagune and his eye turns black, as he looks around. ]
We need to hurry, we can't stay here much longer.

START OF THE RAID
Let's go! We got work to do! Hajime, are you ready!?
[It may seem silly, but she's already tuned her music player to what she wants it to play and hands it to Hajime so that he can make use of it should he need it. The songs on there are things she's had memorized for several years. But that's far from the case for Hajime.]
[For the defense team, they'll be singing a bunch of songs, a lot of them in the style of this song. And, of course, they'll feel stronger than they would otherwise thanks to the power of their singing leaders.]

Things had gone from zero to sixty real quick, but really, this is exactly the sort of thing Daisy lived for. That rush of having no time to do anything, much less so many things at once. While everything is going down here, Daisy gets notified that Jon and Maxwell are in a pretty tight situation as well. This was where it really became difficult, because she could really use their help here right now just as much as they needed help too. They tried reaching out again when Daisy didn’t answer, having been fighting off an obnoxiously aggressive robot when she triggered an alarm she had been trying to avoid.
After tearing it apart with her power, Daisy found a place to hide for a quick second to try and catch her breath. Finally she answered their call for aid.]
Sorry. Been busy taking down a super solider robot. Things have kind of gone to hell here. What’s up?
[OTA]
[With everything else going on, Daisy does her best to help protect others when they need it. Whether it’s by distraction, or using her power to get a security guard or robot away from someone. Once everyone is outside it was pretty clear the majority of people had been injured during the raid, Daisy included. Despite this she’s offering help to those who are more severely injured than she is to get them to the medical team standing by.]

RESULTS
*How did the mission go for your team?
*What building did your team raid?
*Was your team able to procure any information? How did they do so?
*Were there any casualties?
*Is there any other pertinent details we should know?
Even if it's incomplete, please provide a link of your team's activity here! We'll be giving out information in response to these comments.
Will be editing this post to add links of the team's activity
The first few days, Freyja, Adachi, Kaneki, Major and Arthur will be working undercover, relaying information about the factory, workers and work done there, to the rest of the team that stood behind. Using the mental network, they can rely visuals of where the cameras are, how many workers and the tech they have access to while working; they will also be following the two managers, to eventually find out about the back room they disappear into.
When the actual raid begins, coercion will be used to bypass the bioscans and once that is done they'll knock out the manager, and MK will be coming i to hack through the security system. The defense team will go in first, focusing on clearing path to the info gathering team; they will be the ones facing off the robots and security guards. Sadly, they are a bit too rowdy to go in stealthily and that means they'll face them heads on, with Hajime and Freyja boosting everyone's powers during the fight; they will also heal anyone who gets hurt. Despite everything (and possibly because they do have detective Rosa on this, alongside healers), no one will be dying even though the team is willing to accept killing as an option if they must do it.
While the defense team is busy, the info gather team will do their best to get their hands on whatever they can. Kaneki, MK and Arthur will be hacking through everything they can, and Edd will be using his prophetic crow to get information on past conversations that happened around them. Major will be backing them up when it comes to defense and will also comb through Edd's crow conversation since Edd might not be familiar with tech talk. If there are any physical files to comb through, Edd, Major and Kaneki will be using the mental network to store videos of what they see.
When the building starts crumbling, the teams will split. The info gathering team will continue their job, though Kaneki will now take a defensive position alongside Major and possibly Edd and keep the rest of the info-gathering team safe. Arthur and MK could certainly defend as well, but since they are experienced hackers, that will continue to be their job until it's time to leave. The defense team will also split; some will be heading towards the upper management and others will opt to save the workers,as many as they can. The guards might be saved but only after they have saved all the workers, which means there could be casualties depending on how much time they have before the building collapses and if it's feasible to save everyone. If not, it was nice meeting you.
When everyone is out, Freyja and Hajime will be healing whoever they can - not just the teams, but also workers and even now captured upper management people.
