1st Mischief
WHO: Loki and Open-ish (see prompt headers)
WHERE: Maurita Falls
WHEN: The days after Loki's arrival.
WHAT: Loki tries to adjust to this new place while trying to behave himself. It will probably go about as well as anyone could imagine.
WARNINGS: None at the moment? May update in the future.
[ Maurita Falls #6 | Open to Residents ]
[ Loki's arrival at Maurita Falls #6 had been rather uneventful. He managed a polite greeting to whomever was around in the common room, before retreating to his own quarters. Despite his grandstanding on the way there, he was exhausted from the events leading up to his arrival, and sleep beckoned him to the point where he collapsed on the bed and ignored just about everything else. ]
[ Now that he had rested, he had the energy and will to look through the items he had been given on his appearance. Most of it was fairly normal, but there was one that had him pacing in annoyance in the common room later on, irritation planted on his face as he kept his communicator pressed to his ear. He wasn't speaking yet, but the faint sound of music could be heard over the speaker; being put on hold was just adding to his annoyance. ]
[ He continued this for awhile, giving a curt nod to anyone passing by him, before he finally let out a faint noise as someone on the other end picked up. Pleasantries were exchanged, who he was, that he'd been assigned a certain position... and then the issue at hand came up, and anyone that cared to look would see the obnoxiously bright clown outfit resting in a heap on one of the couches. ]
...you were given my measurements, correct? ...No, I'm certain it fits. I am just questioning the logic behind dressing a six-foot man that's supposed to be serving as an illusionist for children, as a clown.
[ There was a pause, before a surprised look came to his face. ]
Hello? He--
[ He cut himself off, staring at the communicator. They... they hung up on him!? ]
[ Maurita Falls Museum | Open ]
[ He'd gotten enough experience with how rude Midgardians on this world could be just from trying to talk to them on the phone, so the logical next step in this whole process of trying to understand where these native people came from. The natural place to look was in their history, and that was why he found himself loitering around a local museum. ]
[ It didn't take long for him to be disappointed; other than a few minor difference, it didn't seem all that different from the Midgard of his world. Knowing that, it made the whole experience insanely boring for him. Even if he was doing his best to behave himself, there was no way he could keep his boredom to himself for very long. It wasn't long before odd things started happening to the displays as he passed by: some mannequins ended up with strange faces or ridiculous mustaches, and paintings had their colors inverted or altered to show poses that were rather immature. The sounds of people asking if that had always been like that followed in his wake, and Loki couldn't help but smirk to himself. ]
[ This was so much more entertaining. ]
[ Local Bistro | Open ]
[ After getting kicked out of (or dragged out of, as the case may be) the local museum, Loki decided to look into the food. The sloppy Ruben he had on his arrival had been an experience in and of itself, but there couldn't be anything worst than that, right? ]
[ He quickly found the answer to that was yes, there were plenty of foods that were even sloppier. He frowned bitterly at the sandwich he had ordered, along with the mess that had fallen off of it and plopped onto his lap. A grumble escaped from him as he magicked the mess away, trying not to look as irritated as he was. ]
Is there nothing Midgardians eat that they don't end up wearing?

Bistro
But even elves with the soul of a dragon needed to eat, so he stepped into a bistro and got himself a wrap.
It was rather hard not to notice the grumbling man.]
Obviously not.

It seems they do not enjoy eating their food as much as wearing it as a badge of pride.
no subject
And I doubt most of them have that convenient cleaning spell.
[Then again, Finn didn't have that spell either.]
no subject
Thankfully, most of my powers managed to remain intact when I arrived here.

[Finn wrapped his fingers around the glass of cola he got to go with his wrap, and a layer of frost suddenly formed over the glass, before Finn took a sip. He was mainly giving this man a small demonstration of his own magic.]
Name's Finn, by the way.

Museum!
But it isn't the painting so much that catches her eye. When Raina sees Loki drift by, she's surprised. It makes sense. Master of Trickery and Mischief. Of course he would play his tricks. But Raina? Well, Raina's a huge fan. Team Loki all the way! So for her, it's a bit like seeing a star.
She gets up from her bench and approaches, keeping a respectful distance. ]
Only a month ago, I told your brother you appeared and vanished in the blink of an eye. Leave it to the porter to realize the error of its ways. Do you recall? Or is this a fresh start?
no subject
I beg your pardon?
[ That would be a definite fresh start. ]

[ There's a hint of a smile on her face. Loki has come and gone multiple times, but he never fails to make an impact in some way. She's sure this time will be no different. ]
I'm Raina, by the way. Just a nobody from our world who had seen the things you'd done there. I have to admit. I'm a fan of your work. There's something to be said of clever cunning compared to brawn and brute strength.
no subject
[ ...ugh. ]
A fan of what, exactly? The wanton destruction of New York, or being paraded around with a muzzle on?
[ Yeah, he wasn't forgiving anyone for that one any time soon. ]

I'm sorry! I lost power for like a week. >:[
No worries! Everything okay?
It's all good now! Noreaster had hit us hard, though. >(
Oh ick; glad everything's okay now.
museum!
[ the comment, of course, comes from the tiny black cat perched like a living statue on one of the benches. animals probably aren't supposed to be there, but hey, alex does what she wants and fuck everyone else.
she hadn't, uh, meant to run into him like this, and after her conversation with magnus, she'd nearly left when she saw him here, but-- well. honestly.
.. though to be fair, it's kind of funny seeing a bunch of white guys' boring white statues suddenly making vulgar gestures. ]
no subject
[ He shook the thought off, giving Alex an innocent look. ]
Whatever do you mean?
[ He flashed her a devious smile, offering her an arm so she could climb up on his shoulder for a free ride. Who cared if animals weren't allowed in a museum? ]
no subject
she's no more trusting than she was five seconds ago, but they have to start somewhere. ]
What're you doing in a museum, anyway? It doesn't seem like your kind of scene.
no subject
[ He paused before a statue, looking up at it with a sigh. ]
I'm rather disappointed to learn that there's not much difference between some realities.

Maurtia Falls #6
It's hard, however, to just pass by the scene in the living room at the moment.]
A clown? [He looks at the heap of cloth with a small frown.]
no subject
A clown.
[ There was nothing but disgust in his confirmation, before he flicked the hand holding the outfit. It disappeared with a snap, and anyone in the kitchen would get to hear the garbage bag rustle as the abomination was put where it belonged. ]
no subject
Maybe children like clowns...?
[It's a pretty hesitant suggestion. He'd never seen a clown or an illusionist as a child.]
no subject
[ Loki looked at his phone again, like he wanted to toss it across the room, but he managed to restrain himself, making it disappear back to his room instead. ]

Bistro
He snorts. No idea what Loki means by 'Midgardians' but since the mess had been magicked away... no harm in being a little amused, right?]
What type of food are you used to then?
no subject
Not this.
no subject
[Eli will always be in awe of the sheer variety of food available.]
Some of the best stuff is potentially messy though.
no subject
[ Loki let out a sigh, almost looking like he was going to push his plate away. ]
I suppose then the people of Midgard do enjoy wearing their food, if that is the case.

Bistro, early in the month before she fucks off to party island
She looks like a completely different woman in her prim hairstyle and proper suit, not to mention the bookish glasses. But the bright lipstick and grating voice are ever-present, so if he didn't recognize her when she walked in, he certainly will when she tucks a napkin into his collar like a bib and chirps:]
Aw, you'll get the hang of it one day, Puddin'.
no subject
...one would think you the God of Mischief here.
[ Also, he's not pudding. Why would she call him pudding? ]

[ She cocked her head to the side and the corners of her mouth quirked up as she regarded his unconquered meal. ]
Are you open to constructive criticism?
