WHO: Padme & Goro Akechi
WHERE: Ambassador's Office of Maurtia Falls
WHEN: The 5th
WHAT: A meeting to talk about some things.
WARNINGS: None atm.
[ She'd found the detective intriguing from their conversations - young, certainly, but older than she'd been when she was a queen, and he was obviously knowledgeable in his field.
So she sets up their meeting, and when he arrives she moves easily to greet him, one hand extended, her clothes professional and dignified but not as exaggerated as she would try for with certain others. ]
I'm so glad we could finally meet, Detective Akechi. Would you care for tea or coffee? Or water?

Yet meeting her was an entirely different thing all together. She was regal, likely formidable -- a good ally to have and a dangerous enemy perhaps. He offers her a smile, accepting her hand with his. He holds his brief case at his side, and smooths out the overcoat of his uniform out of nervousness. ]
I am glad as well, Ambassador. Coffee would be nice.

[ Her smile is warm and open, her handshake similar before she turns to gather up cups. ]
You said you were considering moving into political science as a field? How is that going for you so far?
[ She's curious, certainly. It is, she thinks from what she has gathered of him, a field he would be quite good at. ]

[ He keeps standing, gloved hands clenching the suitcase handle tight. He's grateful for her kindness, and he's starting to relax. He's mostly worried he will offend. ]
May I ask: how long have you been in the political field?

[ She's starting the coffee, but when he remains standing she turns from it to gesture at a comfortable chair around the table, smile still warm and even. ]
Please, make yourself at home. I'm still working on making it feel like my own space here, but it remains fairly comfortable from Mayor Baelish's time here.
[ The question gets him a slightly more serious look and response, as she has begun to understand how people respond when she says this, here. ] Since I was 8 or so. I was an apprentice Legislator for a time, and then I was elected Princess of Theeds -- a position much like the Mayor's is here, from what I've gathered. And not long after that, I was elected Queen. That one is more analogous to the position of President, here. Ever since my terms were up, I have served in the Galactic Senate.

[ Japan already had to deal with the fact they were isolationist in the past. They didn't need that again. He takes the moment to find a seat, setting his suitcase by his feet with little hesitation. He only wants to be polite, after all.]
That is amazing. You must have been very talented to be elected Queen so young. [ Which impressed him. How old was she? He did not wish to be rude and ask but she did not seem to be too much older than he was. ] You are clearly well suited to be ambassador.

[ It's impartial, in a way, simply her assessment of him from what little she knows. ]
I wasn't the youngest Queen ever elected -- at 14 I was close, but on my world politics are the field of the young. Most of them retire and begin a normal life while still young adults. I chose to continue onto the Galactic stage, personally. [ A ghost of a smile. ] Thank you for the vote of confidence.
So what is it that you find draws you to the field of politics? What do you consider the primary duty of a politician? [ Heavy questions, certainly, but she thinks she will receive an honest answer from him, and she thinks that honest answer will be interesting. ]
