February Open Log + CATCH ALL
WHO: Mick Rory and youuuuu
WHERE: wherever u want bb ;)
WHEN: February
WHAT: some open prompts and stuff
WARNINGS: pyromania but otherwise you're probably good
HEROPA
[ After Will got ported out, Mick took his dalmatian, Matches, back, and now is in a state of dog-owner honeymoon as he walks his beloved dog basically all over the place, dressed up thick and warm for February, even in Florida.
In a park, you might have to duck or get hit by a ball he throws a little bit too hard and too far. ]
Yikes, sorry there! You alright?
[ On the streets, Matches may suddenly become very interested in your scent. ]
Easy girl.
PORTER CITIES
[ Night has fallen and Mick is in costume, on patrol. He's mostly looking out for fires but when a native robs a jewelry store, well, he's there. ]
This takes me back.
[ He shouts a warning to any bystanders - ] Watch out! [ Before lighting up the sidewalk in front of the robber to get the person to stop in their tracks. ]

Heropa
no subject
The dog, meanwhile, is attempting to lick Victor's hand. ]
She's a friendly enough pup, if a bit too friendly. Matches, maybe ease up a little.
no subject
How gentle a creature. Matches, was it? [He peers up.] I never had a dog. A tiger once, but never a dog.
no subject
[ Is this guy posturing? Who knows, Mick's gonna ask anyway. ]
You can't let slip something like that and not spill.

Heropa
[Jacob's dog, meanwhile, is more interested in Matches than Mick, jumping all over the dalmatian with his tail wagging. Jacob can't help but smile at his enthusiasm before he looks up at Mick.]
Hey, Mick. Good to see you again.
no subject
oh god. ]
Hey Jakes, uh, how you doing?
[ Matches wants to play with Champ now, immediately, forever. ]
no subject
[Jacob has all but forgotten about running into Mick during the plant crisis- seeing him hallucinate didn't even rank among the top ten most disturbing things Jacob encountered in that nightmare. So it takes him a moment to understand why Mick might be embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Mick and Champ have settled into happily chasing each others' tails around. For them, all is right with the world.]
no subject
[ Mick can't help but grin at the dogs though, that helps ease things. ]
Oi, Matches, turn it down a notch! Remember what happened last time you made a best friend.

Heropa | night
She didn't think that Heropa had much in the way of jewelry thieves so it catches Laurel by surprise when she hears a voice shouting and then a sudden blast of fire. ]
Is the fire really necessary?
no subject
Unless you want me to catch this guy with temperature sensing, yeah.
no subject
[ She knows him too. Laurel stays out of his way but she's also not leaving either. Especially when there was fire. ]
I can help, you know.
no subject
...You gonna be okay?

apologies for the delay!

de chima | night
[ voice vibrating, the flash yells, ] Heatwave! [ and scoops him up to deposit him a few feet away from the fire. ]
no subject
And when he sees who it is, his face breaks into a wide, earnest grin. ]
Well whadya know, if it ain't the scarlet speedster himself.
no subject
Hey. [ it's obvious he's smiling. ] What's going on, man? I thought you were, you know, not starting fires. Or was that a leaf you turned back over? I'm a bit behind in my reading with my Rogues.
[ how cool! he has rogues! he'll have to tell dick mory that he — well, the flash told him that he called one of his rogues a rogue! ]
no subject
[ Mick doesn't make a move to stop him. After all, the Flash is here. He could catch him faster than you could blink. He's delighted. ]
Leaf still turned, just here to help, Flash.

some city™
it shoves archie back further, lands heavily on the ground and hisses angrily at both mick and the robber, staying away from but still completely ignoring the fire.]
it sure is a city of some sort
[ Ah he's so fucking glad to see him but he's a bit distracted right now with everything going on. ]
Hey Arch, Crobat's not one of 'em pokemon weak to fire is he?
buncha buildings and people around here, my dudes
[crobat complies, opening its mouth to unleash an unholy screaming at the robber. fortunately, the only ones affected by the attack are the ones directly in front crobat. the only person being the robber.]
street signs and traffic lights and all that
You're caught between a hot place and a loud place, buddy. Just give up, alright?

FOR CRANE
but part of him thought that maybe it was Crane's attempt at trying to help. Sorta. Like he said it was. It was just that the guy didn't know how to be nice. At all.
A guy with a vocabulary like that, you'd think it'd include "tact".
So he'd been low-key avoiding him but now he feels the need to check in on him. He still felt a certain amount of brotherhood to the other former-rogues in this world, and he hoped he was still going straight.
And this time when he visits the office, he brings fancy cheeses and crackers. And a fork just in case. ]
Crane, you around?
no subject
I'm in the back. Lock the door behind you.
no subject
[ He's not entirely sure if he likes the idea of being locked in but whatever. It's fine. (He can probably take him.)
No, Mick, he tells himself, you were gonna be less Weird about Gothamites, right?
He makes his way to the back. ]
Busy?
no subject
[He says placidly, despite his internal frustration at being caught a little short. He still feels the wood of the shelves beneath his fingertips.]
Give me a hand, would you?
[There's a few books still poking out near the top.]
