Come on, I'm talking to you
WHO: Edd and his roommate Hux
WHERE: In De Chima Number I Forgot
WHEN: morning of the 8th, within the 24 hours before Dooku's Big Moment
WHAT: Edd's raven makes a prediction. Edd doesn't know what it means, and Hux apparently does.
WARNINGS: Nothing right off the bat, but who knows.
Edd wasn't sure about his new power. For one thing, he hadn't spoke to anyone about it. He received a pet raven from the Porter? How nice, he suppose. But then it started to be a very chatty bird. He knew that some ravens like to mimic sounds they hear nearby, but this particular raven seem to be able to string more words together than the usual raven.
But then it made its "prophecies noises", as Edd begun to call them. Noises that seemed random, but instinctively he will know it's no mere gibberish. According to the scrap of parchment he received, the raven can predict the future from a day from now, and Edd will be able to know which sound it makes is a prophecies or not. Handy, if it wasn't for the fact that the only way it will let Edd know of something by mimicking a sound or a spoken word (perfectly mimicking the speaker as well), but it can't tell him when or where that happened. So in all, a half useful bird if he understand its prophecies, but utterly useless when he can't. Still, the raven made a better companion than his house-mate Hux. Edd made a certain point to keep the bird strictly into his own room and not let it fly around the house, particularly around Hux. The man was colder than Thorne, and even less sentimental.
This morning, Edd was eating his breakfast in the dining table when his raven swooped in and stole a piece of ham steak. "You bleeding thief," Edd grumbled, spearing the rest of steak with his knife. "One of these days I'll let you outside fend for yourself."
"Thief," the raven replied, eating Edd's breakfast. Edd sighed.

"Thief," the raven replied, eating Edd's breakfast. Edd sighed.

He went to the coffee maker to start it since he had to head to his office in a bit, he had a full day ahead of him so today was not a day to just sit around. "I trust you are cleaning up after the thing."

The raven, however, heard Hux and turn its head toward, the beady intelligence aimed straight at the young man. "Clean," it repeated, in Hux's voice nonetheless, before diving in to steal a piece of egg off of Edd's plate. Edd waved at hand at it, protecting his breakfast. "Next time I'll eat you," Edd threatened, knowing that he really can't do it to his own powers. It's like dinging his own sword for cutting someone.
"Eat," the raven replied, cross. "Eat," it repeated. Edd was starting to to think to grab the bird and throw it out when it spread its wings and let out a a sound Edd never heard before. It reminded him of a shadowcat's growl mixed in the rumbling of one of the cars outside, with a weird trill that he can't put a word on it. But what he do know was that the raven was making a prophecy.

But he was distracted as the bird began to make a unique sound. The sound of a lightsaber- though not the rough sound of Ren's. He slowly turned around, eyes narrowed.
"Your bird- where did it learn that sound?"
no subject
"The bird can tell the future. A gift from the Porter, unfortunately for everyone. Sounds like somebody left the keys in their little self-driven carriages."
no subject
"It would be useful to know some context, at the very least."

Edd got up, taking his plate and cup. "The only thing that's certain that whatever it is that's happening, it will happen within twenty four hours. According the paper, anyway."
no subject
"If the bird is useless, why do you keep it?"

Edd had the feeling that if he died here, this raven will be first to eat his eyeballs.
no subject
"So we're stuck with it." He was not fond of animals or anything relating to nature given he had spent most of his life in space. "Just clean up after it or I will roast it."
no subject
"You hear that, you carrion eater? Best be on you best behavior."
The raven preened its feathers and looked at Edd. "Good boy," it said sadly.

"I will let Ren fry it if it bothers either of us." And he wouldn't feel bad about hurting an annoying bird.
